I am enjoying your video. I wonder, what do you use/do to prevent the inevitable dark grey tarnish that will develop over time behind the translucent seaglass? I didn't notice any technique in this fabrication. I've heard of putting a thin sheet of argentium silver underneath tje glass, painting a sealant meant for metals called Protecta-Clear, as well as using a piece of silver sheet film under the piece of seaglass. 😉 ❤

Thanks a lot for watching❤ Oh, this is actually the first time I learned that seaglass jewelry can tarnish. Even though I wear seaglass jewelry daily, I haven’t noticed the seaglass itself tarnishing. Maybe using an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner could help.😳
However, the silver parts do get darker over time because they oxidize, that we can use a silver cleaning cloth or silver cleaning solution.😊

Very pretty rings! I've got a large sea glass collection. After you made the silver bead you stamped it in a steel mold (Time stamp 17:18) Do you know where I can get one similar? Thank you!

Thank you so much for watching! The steel mold is called a 'Shot Plate'. I bought it years ago from a local store in the Netherlands, but you can search 'Shot Plate' online, and I'm sure there are lots of choices for sale😉

I have been making Seaglass jewelry for a long time. I was making a kite pendant, and it was the most beautiful blue Seaglass. That was the shape of a kite. I already made a tail for the kite with different sized silver balls, and several different tube settings that we’re going to hold Aquamarina and I can’t remember the other gemstone. Anyway, I have a nylon rubber hammer just like yours and I use the nylon part. I was doing the same thing you were doing and I cracked the bottom piece of my Seaglass. I was so upset. I’m trying to find a way to fix this broken Seaglass. I’ve even gone to the point to call like window repairs when you get cracks and they inject this liquid crack remover. Well that’s what I’m doing next. And I hope it works…. Anyway beautiful rings. Michelle

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's a pity the sea glass broke. When doing the stone setting, we have to pay attention not to touch the stone; always only touch the metal with the hammer. Good luck with fixing the sea glass. I'm actually curious if it will work with the liquid, or maybe you could file the sea glass down to make it into another nice piece of jewelry ;)

What was that tip for polishing? Can you please share the source or even a link to purchase them? Beautiful work!❤I just am fascinated by sea glass. I have collected some pieces from glass beach at Fort Bragg and other CA beaches that I plan to use in my jewelry making. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for watching! These are sanding rollers with different grits. I purchased them from our local metalsmith store in the Netherlands:) Have fun making your own sea glass jewelry!

What grits do you use for the sea glass? I can purchase these in the U.S.

I used 600 and 1200 grits, but you can also use higher grits, such as 1500, 2000, 2500, etc., if you prefer a more glossy result😊And use the grits in ascending order, from low to high.@@SwedishCowgirl7
