Some of you guys need to realize that in Bboying there is both STYLE and POWER. You will never see gymnastics people doing what amok does.. Don't hate on how someone wants to express their moves. I want to applaud Amok for being able to do half those moves. I do not like the fact that he doesn't do footwork at all, but that is his choice. I don't hate on him for it. Seriously too many of guys just hate and hate.
@bboyfalcon23 which is a genre of music that actually started in the uk via jamaican immagrant children who grew up on reggae that got into hip hop and mix the two together and sped it up for dancers in the early rave scene. ;)
To those who don't understand metaphors, Lil Amok is called a gymnast and not a bboy because he doesn't dance to music...just power moves and flips. I'm not saying that's not commendable but its like the music wasn't playing...
Ignorant E-boy everywhere... Facts: - Not a real battle. - They are trying to beat eachothers moves (many bboys call this an exchange or a conversation since they reply on the other Bboy's move). - MC is not only supposed to be high as fuck with such moves... He is also Bboy Ardit (great german Bboy). - No one won since it was a friendly battle. - This ain't tricking... It doesn't even get close to look a bit like it.
@thatbboyrandom1 that's cool if you like him but i stick to my guns bboying is a dance first not just set routines i won't take away from his skills but playing beyonce on hot 97 doesn't make her hiphop people think a lot of things are hiphop when there not wearing your hat side ways and busting flips and standing on your hand doesn't make a b boy it's a dance first then creativity b boying was born on the break raised on rhythm but it's cool i like the way you stand for what you believe
THANK YOU omg i posted like your exact words and how its about footwork and how it originated from that foundation But that dosnt mean we cant enjoy it we just move on and voice our opinions just like the rap game and u still have to respect the fact that yea its gymnastics but it takes a long time to learn those moves
Real bboys have funk, soul, knowledge, passion and creative footwork - power balance who actually dance by the rhythm. Others are "show bboys" or love doing crazy moves in their own field. Its like Capoeira Angola and than there's Capoeira that goes nuts on the eye popping moves
In the battle you can see that lil-Almok did not understand the music but Salo did thats why i think he is the winner of this battle. Beieng a bboy is more than doing some handstand stricks... bboy aka breakDANCE is a dance impro on music. Like real dancers dance to anything with a rythem.
Limalachi who are you to define what dancing is or isnt? capoeira is dance fighting is that not considered dance to u? Keep your comments to yourself if you cant even do 10% of what this man has accomplished in his life. Never tell somebody what dance is or isnt.
its true that its an opinion but what constitutes your definition of dancing? especially in bboying. Lil amok has a top rock and insane power moves. If you mean that he has no footwork then by your definition, Pocket, Salo and many other power heads do not "dance" either. Sorry for the childish remark :D
Karna priya exactly. Imo power moves alone is not dancing. You can shut the music. Power moves combine with footwork is dancing. And any guy who does only power moves is not dancing. Don't get me wrong this is amazing I'm really shocked but I call it a flying expo not a dance.
thatt is fair enough because it is your response. But to my point, do u also think that cico, pocket, the end, blast are not dancers? they are just "flyers"?
i love lil amok his power moves are amazing but i still believe to be an bboy you need the foundation top rocks, footwork, power, freezes we could also add musicality to it but it might just make it too hard for the new generation bboys
@bboyfalcon23 Actually i STARTED breaking to Jungle/drum and bass. i the music played was break beat based genres.wasn't the greatest dj but he didn't have a bad track stock.
i agree with alot of you guys here, its a powermove battle.... they aint even on beat. now im not knocking amok's incredible airflares and suicide moves, but its not dancing. i was raised by nothing but old skoolers, and they would look at you guys and ask, "is there anything else you guys can do?"
Amok is a legend in his own field and creative too, but not a real bboy. No hating on him but he's good at what he does. The same old footwork and same old freezes yes, a lot of breakers do so. But there are heaps of unique, creative and fresh steps combined with some crazy power moves by some sick breakers also! A good balance with everything not just straight up suicidal moves and power moves. Still cool to see 10 90's though
everyone needs to refer to easyrocs statement under the battle issue vs noodle in regards the criteria for a bboy.. in my opinion everyone can moan all they want about lil amok not being bboy etc... why do you care though? he didnt win and he probably knows that himself..hes literally just out doing his thing.. plus guys im glad we have lil amok in the bboy community! someone to really test the boundaries of breaking! you arent going to find many people up to the same task! one of a kind!
sometimes disappoints me bboy community in the world ... who said he is a bboy lil amok? is a great acrobat ... but not a bboy .... what kind of legacy he is leaving to future generations ...? Please respect the dance.
Stop Hating. Everyone has their own style. What if Lil Amok use a lot of gymnastics? That doesn't matter. At least he innovates and creates new moves. Yes, maybe Salo feels better the beat and the rhythm, but e don0t show new moves, just the old oldschool moves. The only thing that can penalize Lil its the fact that he have some bad landing during battle. nothing more.
I am looking friend of Venezuela and in my country we use the break to compete and to share and part of that do you see in the video may seem extra you, oo stupid but even though they are in a competition against each other as enjoy at all times as friends if you do not understand why do not you call bboy because that is part of the culture and if two machines are destroying all in its wake these people are my inspiration and seriousness that they lack something so offset fellowship
To the people complaining about this being a gymnastics video: There's some pretty technical shit in bboying. I'm 100% sure this was just a tech battle. Get the panties outta your asses.
imho: powermoves are basic too, 1 of the element of breakin. some bboy get all around & the others is a specialist, if they're still doing the breakin things they are a bboys. airflare, headspins, airchair, shoulder freeze, toprock, etc. come from breakin, not gymnastic. peace & respect :)
if this were an actual battle then id be pretty disspointed at lil amok...but shit its just an exhibition he can do w/e he wants and he just wanted to make a statement of who he was and what it is that he does..and he did that. props to salo too
Salo was better for me... lil Amok basically threw away his first few rounds by doing moves rather than actually throwing something down.. and when he did throw something down it was quite sloppy... Nice battle though
You are so wrong. I'm sick of people constantly saying oh b-boying now is not like back in the day, lost soul, not enough dancing, too much gymnastics, that's bull shit. You haven't watched enough recent battles to come to that conclusion. And to use b-boy Ivan as an example. You realize Ivan was more about flips and power than he was about dancing. You pretty much killed what ever point you were trying to make.
um lil amok was not breaking he was doing gymnastics he deosnt even present his basic dance he deosnt tell a story or emotion with his dance which is part of what dance is about
i read things like this and i just laugh. like music is way more important now! it's more diverse it's more intricate and has more influence from other genres you think if bboys could do the power they do now people wouldn't do it back in the early days of the artform?? yes they would in power and tricks.. especially hand hops.. they are more on beat than a lot of footwork orientated bboys. but that gets overlooked because it's a trick! stop trying to divide the dance. embrace it and love!
@shanskepanske the real name is bboying and its not called breakDANce cus u have to break and dance, u getting ur facts wrong, anyways it was an exibition battle amok just wanted to challenge salo on tricks, no need to sweat it
there's not 1 move there that gymnast could do those are only bboy moves... sorry you hate power moves but guess you haven't been around very long because there was battles that went off of just power moves... who could do the most "windmills" who could combo the longest or most... flare/windmill/flare/windmill.... then the next person would try to 1 up them... maybe adding head spins. if people were doing power... and you couldn't do power you didn't go out until they were down doing power...
Haha, it's like watching two friends in the studio hanging out and seeing what they got going on.
Thank you very much bro.
i would really really rellay like to now the songs , tnx :)
@bboyfalcon23 which is a genre of music that actually started in the uk via jamaican immagrant children who grew up on reggae that got into hip hop and mix the two together and sped it up for dancers in the early rave scene. ;)

Lil amok did not complete any set, people was exciting because he did some awesome moves, but he never completed any set.
this is tricking battle , not bboying ...
Sempre tem os fracos a vir com choro. Triste.
To those who don't understand metaphors, Lil Amok is called a gymnast and not a bboy because he doesn't dance to music...just power moves and flips. I'm not saying that's not commendable but its like the music wasn't playing...

In the battle you can see that lil-Almok did not understand the music but Salo did thats why i think he is the winner of this battle. Beieng a bboy is more than doing some handstand stricks... bboy aka breakDANCE is a dance impro on music. Like real dancers dance to anything with a rythem.
Lil amok need to know that the name breakdance indicates dancing. He is not dancing.
Limalachi who are you to define what dancing is or isnt? capoeira is dance fighting is that not considered dance to u? Keep your comments to yourself if you cant even do 10% of what this man has accomplished in his life. Never tell somebody what dance is or isnt.
Karna priya I am not defining. This is just an opinion. Respect other people opinions. We just disagree. Your response is very childish.

or RHCP cover (faster)
@bboyfalcon23 Actually i STARTED breaking to Jungle/drum and bass. i the music played was break beat based genres.wasn't the greatest dj but he didn't have a bad track stock.
Salo was very tricky to wave amok in and then get in the way. He totally threw amok off and caused him to keep landing bad.
songs?
i agree with alot of you guys here, its a powermove battle.... they aint even on beat. now im not knocking amok's incredible airflares and suicide moves, but its not dancing. i was raised by nothing but old skoolers, and they would look at you guys and ask, "is there anything else you guys can do?"
2 song?
Lil Amok 80%
Salo 20%
Amok is a legend in his own field and creative too, but not a real bboy. No hating on him but he's good at what he does. The same old footwork and same old freezes yes, a lot of breakers do so. Salo was better for me... lil Amok basically threw away his first few rounds by doing moves rather than actually throwing something down.. and when he did throw something down it was quite sloppy... Nice battle though
Lil Amok the best :)......................
You are so wrong. I'm sick of people constantly saying oh b-boying now is not like back in the day, lost soul, not enough dancing, too much gymnastics, that's bull shit. you think if bboys could do the power they do now people wouldn't do it back in the early days of the artform?? yes they would
in power and tricks.. especially hand hops.. they are more on beat than a lot of footwork orientated bboys.
but that gets overlooked because it's a trick! stop trying to divide the dance.
embrace it and love!
DDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

There is a huge difference between gymnasts and BBoys. If you don't know what, you should stop.
