Yes! Both our M210 and M232 Monkey Light bicycle wheel lights are 100% waterproof. They also come with a 2 year warranty.

Yes, you can attach the lights to 20″, 24″, 26″, 28″, 29″, 700c - all will work.

Hi Toshko. We are all cyclists ourselves, and daily bike commuters. We have not found the M232 to impact wheel balance. We improved upon the design from the M133 to the M232 by moving the battery pack from the light itself to the hub, thus improving wheel balance.

Thanks for your inquiry. First we need to fund the Kickstarter and make the Monkey Light Pro a reality. Then we can talk about modifying the original design.
Hi Mr Warrior. The M232 replaces the M133--we found that separating the battery pack from the light itself led to better wheel balance. You can install up to 4 M232s on a wheel by plugging two lights into one battery and mounting two battery packs on either side of your hub.
Hi Liquidthex, You can plug two lights into one battery holder for increased awesomeness.
Yes Afrosoul4eva, you can synchronize them. You would just choose the same theme and color combination for both lights.
Hi Quorum, we think that one M232 is certainly bright enough. Some people like more bling, and like to have fun with 2 lights and have more pattern options!

Hi Donttalktomebye, for the purposes of our Monkey Light bicycle wheel lights, the 700 x 23c and 700c wheel sizes are not different. The second number refers only to the width of your tire.

I just bought 4 of these for my bike. I cant wait to get them in the mail. My question is, is it possible to synchronize the 2 lights on one wheel?
Hey guys, just installed the M232 tonight and am loving it so far! Just out of curiosity, does it matter which "direction" the LED board is facing relative to the direction the wheel is spinning? I have mine set so the strip of lights are in the "front" as the wheel rotates. It appears that way in this video too, but just wanted to double-check.
...Or maybe I'm over-thinking this because the same patterns emit from both sides of the assembly, making the whole "direction" thing moot :)
What about if I have a ebike with a rear hub motor? How would this work?

does installation alter tire balance? in my bike riding days truing / balancing the wheel was important. i notice only clunker type bicycles in demos, what if bicycle is road racer model,
We suggest installing the battery pack opposite from the light to offset the weight, but it's really not a big deal. I don't think we'll see anyone riding in the Tour de France with our lights, but I've taken my M232s on 60-80 mile rides with zero balance issues.

Hey I hope you guys are still active on this video. I cannot find information on this anywhere. Does the side of the light where there are 2 spoke attachments needs to face the forward travelling side,the backwards, or does it even matter? If you could confirm that would be ideal because it seems that a few of the patterns don't show correctly and I just want to be sure
Mugenloo It's not really a huge deal, but I usually put mine on so the side with two spoke attachments face the backwards side.

Hey MonkeyLectric, i'm thinking of ordering an M232. Can I just ask, does it affect the wheel balance? I saw a video where the rear wheel was quite unstable and thats where I'm thinking of putting it.
I attached the strap with the rubber block not in between the light and spoke, but with the spoke in between the light and rubber. Do you think it'll matter?
What about Star rims?do they work on them?

Hi, MonkeyElectric, I have a 2005 Giant TCR 2. I bought the M232 and I am in trouble because of how my spokes are spaced on the rims. It has a spoke count 20 in the front and 24 in the rear, so It's pretty spaced out. Is there an option for these kinds of rims? I haven't received my lights yet so I haven't tried fitting them yet.
Hi Bernard, you should be ok. Lower spoke counts take a little more work, but if you have any problems, send us an email to info@monkeylectric.com and we can help out :-)

Are you guys talking about the whole wheel length or just the inner wheel with no tires ?
Hi Josh, it's kind of a complicated answer. There's a 20" wheel 'standard' for rims and tires, and that's what we are referring to. The easiest way to tell is by looking at the markings on the tire. It may have something like 20" x 1.75", or 20" x 2.125". That's a 20" wheel, and our light will fit. The actual measurement of diameter of the entire wheel will probably be bigger than 20" because of varying tire sizes. The measurement of the diameter of the rim is probably a little less than 20" on a 20" wheel. Strange, right??
hi guys, from the comments below I came to know that we can attach 2 of these on the same wheel. but can they display same theme together. n if yes how would the display effect be. can you guys make a video on that as well. thanks
Hi Fraser, they can display the same theme, but you need to set them to do so using the Theme button. This would fill up more of the wheel with your desired theme. We can look into making a video for that, but we have other videos we are working on that we need to finish first!

Hi, I have a 700C based 1000W hub motor that uses 205mm spokes. Will this setup be compatible, or would I need to mod it?
James, hard to say without seeing the wheel, but it might be a tight fit for anything but the M204. Attaching our battery pack to the hub might be tricky as well, but again, I can't really be sure without seeing the wheel. James, if you email us with a photo of the hub and wheel, we can better answer your question. I can tell you that our M232 will fit on 20" or larger spoked bicycle wheels with a standard hub. Many motorized hubs are too large to attach our battery pack in the normal way, but people have sometimes been able to attach it by using extra zip ties.

What was wrong with the M133's , those were much easier to install. I'll still probably buy some 232's , but I like the old install better. I want to install on a 26in wheel so how do you install 2 or 3 on one wheel?
Does it works with motorcyle wheels too?
It sure sounds cool, but our lights are designed specifically for bicycles. We cannot recommend installing them on any motorized vehicle.

How do I choose the theme and color I want?
I looked on my tire and it says mine is a 700x23c, how difference is that in relation to just a 700c?

No, but the captions are good. At least we don't have to listen to poorly recorded whiny sounding voices.
It's a shame these aren't programmable. I know a less-expensive model like this won't be as good as the pro, but it could certainly do things like text or basic pixel art with no problem... Seems a waste to have only the pre-programmed patterns.
...It'd be way cool to have something better than the 210 to use on my Brompton (16" wheels), too. Just sayin'... :)
+Tetsujin Thanks for the feedback! You're right, you can't load your own custom patterns onto the M232 or M210, that's currently only available on the Monkey Light Pro.
Why it can not be used at more than 65km / h. I use a road bike and I'm worried about that ???

Hey Henry, we test them on a motorized test stand (and down local hills) up to 40 mph. We can verify their performance at that speed but have not tested at a higher speed.

norm thomas yup, you can run 2 M204s, or you could plug in a M210 or M232 as well. They all use the same type of plug.

Nice but optional anti-theft strap??? Ha ha they'll just cut the spokes.
I ride in the Bay Area (bike theft is common here) and I personally don't bother with the anti-theft strip. I've never had any problems. But I'm also very careful about where I lock up my bike.
I don't think people really notice the lights when they're turned off an the bike is parked. But if they have a tool that can cut the spokes, it can probably also cut the anti-theft strip as well. Honestly if they carry bike theft tools with them, I'd be much more worried about them cutting my ulock and taking my bike or just stealing my wheel set. ;-)
does it fit with a 19' wheel?
HI Martin88ho Our lights are designed for 20" wheels and up. Some 19″ wheels will work. You can measure the width of open space between your spokes, close to the hub. If it is 38mm or more then the light should fit ok. The wheel hub must be at least 38mm wide to fit the battery holder. If you buy the lights and they do not fit, we would be happy to issue you a refund.
