That Apem balik in Indonesia is called Martabak manis with much more variants and flavour, that one you tried at Medan before is not common martabak manis, more like traditional pancake/apem

If you referring to the “small dog duck” dish in Titi Kong, it’s not dog.
Historically, people there like to eat dogs but not now. So what they do is they take the recipe for cooking dog meat and replace it with duck meat.. the spices, method of cooking, preparation follow how they used to cook with dog meat. This is Titi’s most famous dish.
I am so glad you clarified that it is not dog meat. NO ONE should eat dog !!

We also have martabak… but it’s filled with minced mutton or chicken.. I think the word martabak must be some kind of Arab or Indian origin.
