Making a entire element based magic system for dnd ( basically periodic table for magic ) that has a entire list of our own creatures, character and villain options, elementals, etc. examples of elements: ooze, order, chaos, Ying Yang, Time, Gravity, tech, poison, spirit, dream, blood, etc. there will be options for a monster tamer character that can use and befriend the element based creatures listed. There will be a redesigned elemental monk, that can use all the elements in the list as well as mix them up. We are probably going to call this Elemental Emporium or something.
It's great to see that after so many years the beast master is in a better spot. My first character I ever made in 5e was a beast master and I felt so lacking as compared to the other party members. I really enjoy these videos!
Yea I think Tasha's Cauldron has been a pretty interesting book that adds a lot more versatility to many traditional classes, thank you for all of the kind comments Nikolas.
Tasha's has been an absolute godsend for Rangers. And it was pretty beneficial to pretty much all the other classes too. But the Beast Master's Primal Companion is _so_ good. And Druidic Warrior is amazing.
As any veteran player I know D&D by heart, but these videos are so useful to share with newer friends that you want top lay with. Gives them an idea on what they should play. Keep it up
Quick suggestion (you can completely ignore this if you want) I kind of perferd you older videos that where shorter and focused more on the subclass than the class as a whole as I felt like it allowed for the subclass and its abilities to breathe more as well differentiating your brand from the hundreds of other review/explanation videos about the diffrent classes. That's just my opinion tho lol I still watch all your video all the way through and am excited for more vids.
Thank you so much for watching all of my videos! And yeah, I kind of just wanted talk a lot about the new Optional Class Features that Tasha's Cauldron brings and how it synergizes with the Ranger stuff that stayed the same so that's why this video was longer. I really appreciate the feedback though, thank you for the support!
My major problem with this optional feature is that the land and sea options are way too vague/generic yet at the same time shoehorn in the animal choice. For instance, land, can really only be an animal like a panther or a black bear due to the medium size limit and the climb speed. To rp the companion as anything else like a wolf, boar or polar bear would require you to rp them as juveniles forever and/or ignore the climb speed altogether. It also lacks any specific actions like webbing for spiders.
Yea I guess for specific animal types the available stat blocks do not properly represent them, but I think the lack of variety can be addressed by creating a custom stat block that follows the other ones as a base template of sorts.
we have a group that are playing in an all ranger Party and from our experience the PHB beastmasters got alot more use out of pets due to bonus action conflict. and many of the Tasha's features were Situationally beneficial just like the core ranger ones. I am glad PHB an tashas exist but I see both being about equal in rank (and contenders for MVP) in any given campaign. Beast master bad is a meme and thats all.
I always thought it was pretty neat! But I do think that as newer subclasses came out for the Ranger, it became clear that the Beast Masters needed some extra love. Thanks for the comment Joe!
Ranger as a class is definitely not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but I really like how Tasha's Cauldron gives it more versatility and is less reliant on specific enemies or terrain types! Thanks for the comment!
According to RAW with the primal companion it CAN attack with your bonus action AND /OR with your extra attack option although the and part is up for debate due to action economy but as of raw since the BM was updated its a dm choice
I suppose I read it differently because after it described what you can do with your Bonus Action, it explicitly described how to activate your Primal Companion's Attack action, which I thought meant that it excluded the Bonus Action. I also thought that this reading made more sense since it was more in line with the previous Beast Master's ability. But reading it again, you might be right Gregory. Although the Primal Companion probably cannot attack again with both Bonus action and Attack action since your Beast only has one Action to spend. But thank you for the insightful comment, I really appreciate it!
@@Greyscales "Although the Primal Companion probably cannot attack again with both Bonus action and Attack action since your Beast only has one Action to spend." Yup that is correct. Treantmonk even researched it for his Tasha's revised beastmaster build guide. The advantage is the versatility not that your beast can take attack action again.
I like these ids and recently I just uncovered a UA subclass called the Oath of Treachery, its like Vengeance and Trickery Cleric had a baby and its perfect. I personally think its balanced but some might disagree and that's fine and I personally have a build in mind that's suboptimal so it's not busted. I love all classes and Ranger definitely cuz it was my first

I can see lots of work when into this! I appreciate it, you make good content!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoy my stuff!
Shoutout to Tasha’s for fixing this awful subclass!
Shoutout to Owen for always watching my stuff!

Thank you so much for the support!
I'm really glad that the videos that I create for fun can help people!
thanks for explaining the new ranger subclass, i was confused by the wording at some points but you made it alot clearer thanks!
Hey Zealot, I'm glad I could be of help!
4:09 I want to play a Ranger that has Duo as his companion and is forced to take the Linguist feat at every ASI because otherwise Duo will kill him
Truly there has never been a more stalwart educator than a giant green bird.

The best subclass day one

Yea, I think D&D 5e is pretty good at the balancing department overall.
Thank you for liking my videos Finn!
I had an idea for a kobold beast master with a kimono dragon as their primal pet and also so I could ride my beast.
That would be pretty cool to witness!
Thanks for the comment!
