  • In mid December 2017, we did a video on our Easy, Inexpensive and Natural Litter Box System. We never expected that the video would be so popular. Over the last 5 months, we have gotten a lot of questions about our litter system. This video is to help take the mystery out of the 3 different Breeze boxes and the bottom litter pan boxes that fit best with each Breeze box. We also answer questions and give you recommendations for uses of other items in the Breeze box. If you have not done so already, please watch our first litter box video done in mid December 2017 about our litter system. It is an awesome system that saves you time, saves you money on litter and protects your cat's health. Here is a link to that original video:

    **Tips for Transitioning a Cat to this pelleted pine litter:
    1) In the comment section of this video, there are a lot of helpful suggestions to get your cats to transition over. Try to read other posters comments on how they successfully transitioned their cats over to it.
    2) You may need to contain your cats/kittens in a small room while you a transitioning them over to the pellets or contain the cat that is having a hard time transitioning over
    3) Put some of their stools in the pelleted litter.
    4) Get some Dr. Elsey's Litter Attractant to sprinkle on the pellets. It is in a sprinkler canister that you can find at most Pet Store. Here is our link to buy it: amzn.to/2Kqsgbs
    5) Start adding in the pellets to their old litter so they get use to the feeling of the pellets on their paws.
    6) Slowly stop cleaning their old boxes.
    7) Once they start using the pellets, you can remove their old boxes slowly.
    8) Be patient. Cats are just like humans, they do not like change.
    When purchasing a Tidy Breeze Box in a store, look inside the box for a $7 off coupon on the box. You should be able to open the box and pull out the pamphlet before going to the cash register. You can also find the coupon on line at Tidy Breeze box website.*** In our opinion, our Litter Box system is the most natural, easiest and least expensive Litter Box system around. If you have any questions, please put your questions in the comment section for us to answer as we have time.
    We do have an approval system set up for our comments so negativity will not be allowed.

    I can't understand why someone would give such a beautiful and kind person a hard time for simply trying to help? Furthermore, why would they even assume anything you've taken so much care in explaining to be a lie? It's obvious in so many ways, that that's not in your nature to be deceptive and your cats are impeccable! Thank you so much again!

    Thanks for the visual! Something that I do is I slip the bottom pan into a garbage bag. I sprinkle a little pellets on top of the bag where the softer sits, and sprinkle a bit of baking soda. I cannot stress the helpfulness of baking soda here, everyone! So cheap and super effective. But anyways, I pick up the sifter 1-2x a week, slip off the garbage bag, turn it inside out so the soiled pellet litter is contained, tie it off, and throw it away! In my experience, it’s way easier and cost effective this way as the bags are super inexpensive. I got a box of 200 13 gallon bags from Target for just $10.

    I have spent and wasted so much money on boxes and different types of litters trying to find the right system that works that I'm happy with as well as my multiple cats. I won't lie, I was skeptical when I first watched your December video a few weeks ago, but I was willing to try something new again. I had absolutely nothing to lose other than a few bucks. Two weeks in and scooping the boxes is no longer a chore I hate. Can you believe I actually smile as I'm scooping away?! Why? Because it's so EASY! I've bought five Breeze boxes and will be purchasing two more. I'll let you do the math. I was bothered by the fact that you mentioned in the video that some viewers had posted some negative feedback regarding the system with urine escaping the box. I have two cats who like to dig to the center of the earth and then urinate with their tails hanging outside the box; I've had no issue with urine anywhere outside the box. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WONDERFUL SYSTEM!!!

      Same here, Brittany - No issue with urine...period. Outside, on the inside of the boxes...nowhere. LOVE how the pellets turn into sawdust that has absolutely no odor!

      Brittany, just curious... how many cats do you have, and how did you do it in two weeks? We have 4 cats, and they are having a difficult time taking to the pellets. I have one box exclusively pellets, and they will pee in that one, but not poop. I've even tried moving poop from one of their other boxes to the Breeze box. Still no pooping. I also am using the attractant. The other three boxes are still filled with their Tidy Cat litter, and I've been adding pellets to it. They don't like it at all! I'm hesitant to drop another $80 for two more Breeze boxes if they're not going to use it. Any pointers you might have would be helpful and greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    Susan, you are the most thorough and most resourceful person I have ever seen! I am so very grateful for your original video about the Breeze/pine pellet system. My 13 rescue cats are all happily using it. It is just an absolute
    Godsend for us. It is so easy and almost effortless to clean and works like a "breeze". I ordered and used the Iris scoops, but I use stainless steel tongs to remove the solid waste and shift the pellets allowing the sawdust to filter through the slits. Thank you for being so very excellent and professional at everything you do and contribute to the breeding and care of your precious cats. Thank you for sharing and passing along your knowledge and experiences.I watch your videos often, sometimes just to hear your soothing nurturing sweet voice. I LOVE the way you say "babies"!!!

    This litter box system is the best. Seriously gets rid of cat piss/ammonia smell. Buy a GRILL BRUSH for it... hear me out before going "wtf", I use the bottom metal end to scoop the turds into my scooper instead of fishing for them. You can scoop just the turds instead of having to sift to get the pieces of the litter out which saves $. I scoop the "wet litter" with that too into the slits and then use the brush part of the grill brush to get anything stuck in the slits to fall down into the bottom. It works magically I'm so happy I figured that out. Try it! Seriously it makes it so much easier!

    I've been using this system for approximately 7 months now, and I will never go back. I, like most people, was hesitant to switch to a new system, but it was actually relatively painless and easy. I followed her transition instructions - slowly adding more pellets to their old box all the while keeping the new pine system next to the old box. At first they only peed in the box and would continue to poop in the old. After about a month of transition I finally just took away the old boxes, and they were fine both pooping and peeing in the new box. Thank you SO MUCH for this system!

    Susan, I must let you know that your idea works great. Your litter system got rid of smells and dust. Clean up the litters is so easy and it's so cheap compared to the clumping one. I gave your channel whenever i have chance. You're very kind to share the information. Darcy and Ellie, my two fur babies, didn't have any problem to use the pallet litter and now Coco, my 10 weeks old girl, started using it. She didn't like the texture at first so I invited her to step in it using bell toys. And i put the kitchen towels with her pee on the pallet to soften texture. She carefully stepped on it to play and smelled around. Next morning i found she did her personal business #1 and 2. Thank you so much!!!

    Hi. I have been using your system for several months now and love it. I have found a few minor issues though I wanted to pass along. Underneath the box is a lip that the original Breeze tray would slide onto. I found this lip catches urine and sawdust. I emptied out and cleaned my boxes then turned the bottom section upside down. Using a pair of heavy duty snips I cut into the bottom of the box and cut along the outline of the lip until I had gone around the entire opening and removed the lip. The first time I did this (I have four boxes) I cut with the box sitting as it normally would during use. I found it was much easier to cut if you turned the box over. You want to make sure when you are done you have a flat surface inside the bottom box so the urine will fall down into your collection box. Reading this may be a little confusing but I think it will be clear once you actually take a look at your box.

      Did the Breeze box fall down into your Exquisicat pan? It appears to be 2" wider and 1" shallower than the Sophresh Large Litter Box, especially after you cut the rim off? Also, not sure which you use, but would your preference be an open or a hooded box?

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 2 года назад

      I'm running 3 of these setups, and the sawdust in mine is always dry as the pellets seem to absorb the urine, and turn to sawdust before it even gets thru the grate. I suspect either your cat digs down into the pellets to pee, possibly you're not using enough pellets, or you're using something other than the Tractor Supply pine pellets.

I couldn't find the petmate box so my boxes did rock a little bit. I just pushed the front of the box down more. It works. No smell. I asked tractor supply employees, they said the horse pellets are kiln dried. Thanks again!! 😻

    I agree, i ordered two breeze litter box systems and recreated this system, one with sawdust pellets and one with the mineral pellets that came with the litter boxes (and I poured the TWO bags I had into ONE litter box as itbarely covered the bottom) just to see the difference in how they differ in terms of cleanliness and smell (the smell was my biggest concern) and to my surprise, the sawdust pellets are WAY more hygenic you guys. The mineral ones do absord some urine (even if they're marketed to not do this) amd only a week after my cats started using this litter, i could make out a bad smell from it (i have three cats, but at the time, i had 4 litter boxes out to allow them to choose). The pellets that were in contact with urine a few times turned into this dark yellow shade and smell gross. They also don't do a good job a dehydrating the stool, so when you come to pick it up, it's messy and sticks to the scoopable spoon, and some pellets half stick to it amd fall back into the litter box..... The sawdust pellets, of course once in contact with urine, disintegrate and fall at the bottom, and do a better job at dehydrating the stool (must less gross to pick up) and guys, there is NO SMELL. I LOVE it!! :) thank you so much for this idea, it's fantastic, and I recommend it to every cat owner I know, that wants to hear about it :)

    Susan I just want to say thank you so much. I to have a cattery and have been trying to figure out the best kitty litter system for my cats for several years now. It gets way to expensive and good quality cat litter keeps going up daily. I am so glad I came across your video and just want to say how much I appreciate it. I actually already purchased a couple set ups and now in the transition for my cats. Most have adjusted with it just fine for I have used pine litter in the past and use it all the time with my kittens. My male though is giving me a rough time but I have a feeling he will come around in the next few days. You explained everything so well ... I now plan to check out more videos you have created. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for sharing.

    I’m about 2 weeks into the transition with my 2 kitties (a 4 year old female and a year old male). I’m starting to see some progress. I was glad to hear your comment that it might take a month or longer. I’m really excited to use this system. Like the smell of pine, a lot lest tracking of the litter and I won’t have to carry a 40 bag of litter home every 2 weeks. I’ll let you know how it works out! ***ATTENTION!! I HAVE FOUND A BOTTOM FOR THE XL SYSTEM!!***
    I purchased the Breeze box system a few weeks ago and have searched for a bottom box that the Breeze box would fit onto. Well, today I have finally found one! I went to Home Depot and purchased the small cement mixer tub! So far, it fits perfectly. However, I had to place two pee pee pads on the bottom to be able to cover the area to catch sawdust. I will update this comment when it's time to clean in a few weeks! 🤞🏽

    I love this litter box. I have hardwood floor, and one I had a flashlight that I set down on the floor next to me. The light shining across the floor showed all the powder tracts (I called it poo poo powder) from when the cats exited the litter box and walked around the house. I was using worlds best cat litter. It was $35 a month for two cats, and I had a large plastic grated screen outside the litter box with a wall to catch the litter in their feet. You sharing the video has saved me from the tracked litter, poo poo powder, dust when scooping, and money. I never thought I’d be so happy about a litter box. Thank you so much!

      I saw your original video. I love the system but I made an error. As you pointed out in this video, the bottom box can not be too big. If the bottom box is too big, there is not a lot of clearance for the pine dust. I was wondering why I couldn’t get a week with 3 boxes and 4 cats. I ordered the correct bottoms. Problem will be solved. Thank you for the updated video.

    Thank you Susan! I've been wanting to switch to pine pellet litter for some time, but had such a difficult time selecting a box! (Most of the "sifting" cat pans available seem to have such large sifting holes, and customer product reviews complain that the pine pellets fall thru, or that there is no room between the pans to sift.) These videos on your BRILLIANTLY modified Breeze boxes is EXACTLY what I needed! Love it, and immediately purchased everything I need to get started. (I realize that I'm a tad late to the pine litter party,...by aherm 5yrs, but better late than never!) Excellent video,- very much appreciated!

    First, THANK YOU for making this video. We switched to the litter first. We found that using this new litter was huge improvement in and of itself. There was a BIG reduction in odor. Then a couple of weeks later we Installed the litter system.
    The only problem we have had is our kitties track out some of the sawdust. So we got a shoe tray, like what you put by your door to hold wet or muddy shoes. We put it under the litter system. Now our carpet stays clean and that tray is super easy to clean.
    Again, thank you for sharing this with us. 💜

I have 3 cats, 1 CH moderate kitty, and 2 Siamese, one is a tiny girl at 6 pounds and someone had declawed her before I rescued her. I put the pad and Breeze box into an old jumbo litter pan with a high back. It fit perfectly! They changed over with no issues, but I did it slowly while adding a little of the old litter to it. It will save me so much money, and no smell! None! I have horses and already use bedding pellets. All 3 seem to like it even though I left the top entry box in their room they use the Breeze Box. I can't thank you enough!

    Susan I am throughly happy with your system. I thought I'd add to the "wet" problem someone replied about, because my cat urinates a lot as well. To stop all wetness surrounding entire system, I purchased from Pet Smart their Great Choice Litter Pan Liners, 1.3 mil, 40 Large for $11.60. They are strong, and can be pulled up to surround the entire bottom of the top unit, therefore catching any urine while also keeping in any smell. It's not even necessary to place the absorbent pads carefully. I just fold to fit the bottom, and it catches all urine. After one week (one cat), I simply pull down and off the whole pan liner, wrap and drop it in a second bag and discard. No leaks. Hoping some will see this added solution. Thanks for turning me on to your ingenious idea. Wow I'm SAVING so much MONEY and TIME!!!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! We could not stand the regular or clumping litter scatter and I was negatively sensitive to the waste smell.
    We began trying everything including the tidy cat breeze system, but wasn't impressed. Thankfully, two of our kittens never ate the mineral pellets. We have 3 of our own kitties, now adults, and foster/socialize adult feral cats and older feral kittens for adoption. Based on their age and learning to trust humans, they are with us longer, 3-5 months.
    I found your original video decided to try it. When we first put the pine litter out, our kitties started using and preferred the pine setup right away. Our indoor cats and fosters have had no issues using this breeze box pine system. It's been 1.5 years and what a difference in the clean up. The pine really tackles the odor as well. Thank you so much for sharing, it's been a game changer in our house!

      Dear Susan. Your reply really touched me deeply. We lost a beautiful long haired dark Tabby, Sasha, pictured here, in April 2017 to a bowel tumour, secondary to HIV + (?= FIV?). She was only 6 1/2 years old. It was very sudden and shockingly traumatic. Her sister, just adopted from the Animal Cat Rrescue at the same time, is a medium haired more creamy Tabby with a tail that resembles a feather boa, which she is very proud of! She turned 9 last November. She was a runt when I first saw her and they had nicknamed her "The Midget". I of course named her Midget. She was tested after Sasha died and, to my horror, came back positive. I will be very pleased to change her to this system as I worry about losing her so much. She is still little, only 4.75kg, but has a great sense of humour and is the most intuitive and loving cat I've ever owned. Thank God for this wonderful system. Midget has always stood up tall on her hind legs and wee'd right out of a litter tray! Good luck with your baby's health. 🐣 ❤ Pam.

    Just wanted to share my own "modification".
    I really wanted to find the old version of breeze box, but couldn't. I bought non-hooded breeze 2.0, and the only thing I'm using is the green tray with holes. It fits perfectly on top of a $4 litter box from Walmart. No wobbling at all. It took 7 weeks but my baby finally accepted the new system. She left mommy an early Christmas present in the new box 😊 I am so happy with this, no more dust from clay litter. Thank you for making this video.

    Update. This works soooo well. I change my saw dust probably every two and a half weeks or more with two cats. They took to it very fast and I had no problems switching them over I use tongs to get out the solid waste. So much easier than the scoop it comes with. My place smells a hell of a lot better too. So happy I found this.

    This has helped me so much and saved me soo much time and money! I have the second Breeze system you showed. The regular litter box I got to go under didn’t quite fit smoothly at first and was a bit wobbly and it sat very high (it was the only large box Walmart had) But after about 1-2 weeks it molded around the box perfectly and is very secure now. It still sits high but the weight from the box made the edges of the regular box mold perfectly so nothing seeps out! Also I use a large drawstring litter box liner in the bottom of the second box! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! It makes clean up very simple and takes 2 weeks to fill up!!! I love it! Thank you Susan for making this updated video! I used to think my cats pee was leaking out too but actually my cat was missing and sometimes pees high lol! So I’m glad to know the hooded box will work with your method!

    I just ordered the hooded one & I’m excited to see if my kitties like it. I saw your original video & have recommended it to others, but glad to see this one for further clarification on specific products. Cool to see the different colors & sizes.
    To anyone who hasn’t tried this system: if you are looking for a natural, non toxic litter that neutralizes cat urine odor, the inexpensive pine bedding is awesome, & the Breeze box is the perfect tool for sifting out the used pine sawdust. Regarding the pee pads: check out human pee pads (bed pads/underpads) on the aisle with Depends. Sometimes they are cheaper & larger than puppy pads.
    I don’t throw out my trays either. I have one to put my laundry products on to protect the surface of my dryer, a couple of trays in the kitchen for informal serving, & I like the suggestion to use them for pets’ food & water bowls.
    I’ve thanked you a bunch already, but thanks again “Ms Cattery” for your help & wisdom in saving me money and protecting my cats’ health!

      Oh thanks for the idea for use of the random tray I have now lol. I didn't want to let it just sit and go to waste or throw it away. I might use it to put under their water dispenser because they're always making a mess with it lol. But the food server tray idea sounds tempting.

    I just set the green pan with side shield on the sophresh large base with a liner. I guess I may not get as much head space under for the saw dust but with one cat using it,it still takes at least 2 weeks before I need to change the pad and one less plastic piece to clean. Tess,
      I got rid of the shield as well, just set the green tray on top of basic liter box, and that's it. No need to worry about shield moving around. The scoop that comes with the system will fit on edge of green tray just as well as it does on shield, so that's convenient.

  • @kyratheberber

    I recently started using the Tidy Cat Breeze system without the bottom catch tray. I also bought a Pet Champion X-Large pan to catch the 'sawdust'. I placed two pieces of 2x4 wood blocks at the front and back in the catch pan (to allow plenty of room for the waste), then placed a trash can liner (using 30 gallon size for now, but might not need that large). Finally placed the litter box in that.
    I find you don't need to use a large quantity of pellets, not 3 inches like old litter, just maybe an inch or so. I clean out the solid waste once a day (I flush them after they soak a minute or so). Still figuring out the best timing for changing the bottom catch, maybe once a week.
    So far I really believe this is the best system to use, especially since one of my two kitties pees a lot!

    I also LOVE the hooded Breeze box. I'd used covered litter boxes in the past but using scoopable litter with them didn't really cut down on the smell and made clean-up awful. Now using the pine pellets there's no odor in my covered nor uncovered litter boxes. My male cat doesn't spray but he is a digger; the hooded box keeps his digging more contained and what he does manage to kick out are just pellets that are so easy to sweep up (I have a small hand-held sweeper/dust bin combo I got at the Dollar Store) and put back into the top.

  • @HummingbirdEighty8
    @HummingbirdEighty8 5 лет назад +10

    I have ten cats and recently incorporated this system. I love it! Regarding leakage: sometimes after the sawdust has fallen onto the puppy pad, some of the wetness is absorbed by the pad. The urine creeps up the sides of the pad and the exposed pad on the outside of the box will have the urine on it. I think it is because I have been using the 23"x 24" pads from the original video. My boxes are the newer version of the breeze box. I am going to buy the larger pads. This may be why people are saying the urine "leaks", which is not really the correct term. I would say the urine "migrates" up the sides of the pad and can be seen on the part of the pad outside of the box. But I think using the larger pad will take care of this. I'm not sure if cat haters wrote the messages you referred to. Perhaps they just didn't use the proper terminology to describe what they were seeing. I have recommended your system to my daughter and to my neighbor. Thank you so much. I have already seen huge savings on litter, and I love that there is no more gray litter dust all over and in kitty lungs!

  • @friedali7374
    @friedali7374 6 лет назад +10

    I got the newer version of the breeze box after watching your video. What I found was, with this new bottom, urine trend to run through the pellets instead of soaking in to them. So the pad actually absorbs the most urine. I have 2 cats, and I have to change the pad 2 times a week, but I’m still happy with this system! In this case, I don’t need that much height underneath the pan, so I just went to Walmart and got an organize container. It was the cheapest option of all.

    • @weloveourkittens
      @weloveourkittens  6 лет назад +2

      Are you using the Tractor Supply pellets? Some of the other brands are not quite as absorbant according to other commenters on the first video. It also might be that the newer Breeze box inside is angled to drain towards the center, whereas the older Breeze Box, the inside bottom was more flat. Make sure to use 2" of pine pellets from Tractor Supply. I know my one boy who pees a lot and is using the hooded version, his pee turns to a huge amount of sawdust that piles up at one place. So the Tractor Supply pellets are absorbing his urine very quickly.

    • @friedali7374
      @friedali7374 6 лет назад +3

      I'm located in a small city on the east coast of Canada, I can't seem to find the Tractor supply pellets. But I'll keep on searching then. Also, I'd like to mention that, the breeze box I got was $57 CAD. That's quite expensive plus the Petmate box I found in a pet store was $13 CAD. So I made a budget-friendly alternative "breeze box' myself. It's just a plastic container sitting in another one. I drilled holes on the bottom of the top one and it has 6 pvc pipe sockets as it's legs offering the space for the sawdust. It worked so well. I have the two kinds boxes side by side and I found my cats tend to use the DIY one more. I guess it because it's more spacious.

    • @Darkswordz
      @Darkswordz 6 лет назад +2

      Is it possible to seal off the front bottom with duct tape, or something similar, to keep the urine from seeping through the front?

  • @tessm3646
    @tessm3646 6 лет назад +7

    This is a great idea! I have 4 boxes for my 5 cats and have been using the pine pellets for a long time now. What I used to do, before seeing this great idea, was line the bottom drawer with a small trash bag and let that catch the sawdust. Makes for cleaner change than the pads would, but I had to change that twice a week with how much my cats go. I'm hoping this gives me a week between changes. I have the newer boxes and I haven't had any issues with pee coming out of the front space where the tray was, but I could see how it might happen. I have one cat that loves to pee right under the front lip/Shield. All I did was tuck the extra fabric of the pee pad under the green tray so that it closed the hole. If there is any splatter that should catch it. Thanks again!

    I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for sharing this system. It's been a real game changer in our home with two cats. Both cats took to it pretty quickly and aren't complaining with bad behavior elsewhere. I did want to say I was having the problem of urine-soaked sawdust building up on the layer below the green screen and is a pain to clean. I saw the suggestion of just removing that layer and only using the green screen above the lined litter box. I'm going to give this a try. I realize I won't get as much headspace, but it will be worth not having to clean out that middle layer. Thanks again for your ingenuity!

    Hi, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your information on how you use the breeze system. I changed my cat from litter (Arm & Hammer Slide, which did not even work as they claimed) to your Breeze Box pine pellet system. He adapted very well to it, just over a week it took him. I must say that this is so much easier, cost effective, and simpler for me. And my cat as well! The pellets keep his paws clean and his potty area has zero lingering odor which makes for a cleaner smelling home. Thank you once again, I really appreciate it!

    Susan, thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and experience with the rest of us. Note for your subscribers... Those hard zeolite pellets are great to put in muslin bags & put in shoes for odor eliminators. They can also be used by putting mesh bags of those hard pellets under car seats and in closets to absorb odors. You can recharge/renew them by leaving them in the sun for a few hours or placing them loose, on a cookie sheet (out of the bags), in the oven on low heat for an hour or so. DON'T PUT PELLETS SOAKED IN URINE IN YOUR OVEN! This seems obvious to me, but I wanted to make sure no one does this!

    We found the pellets that came with the Breeze weren't the best. Horse bedding pellets, kiln dried of course, are the best substitute as they immediately turn to sawdust when the cat urinates on them. They go into the bottom tub very quickly leaving no odor and are very inexpensive.
    We also used a busboy tub, that can be purchased at Costco, to place the entire Breeze system into. Fits perfectly, it's deep and leaves a lot of space for the sawdust underneath.
    Susan, a great video. Keep up the good work and I hope you don't mind me putting in my $.02 worth... lol.

    I transitioned my 5 month old kitten to wood pellets using the original Breeze box. I did make some adjustments because I live in Canada and the availability of some of the products that were recommended are just not available. For example, I decided to forgo with the extra bottom pan after failing to going to four stores trying to find one that fits (Canadian Tire (they partnered with Petco), Petsmart, Bosley and Walmart). I got large puppy pads and found that it covers the entire bottom of the Breeze bottom box. I am quite careful with cleaning the regular litter so for the pellet litter I change the puppy pad every 4-5 days. I have two other adult cats that I still need to transition so I'm sure I will be changing the pad more often when they do - I plan to get a second Breeze box to help with that. Wood pellets were easy to find at Canadian Tire - they have both hard and softwood types that cost Canadian $6.49 for 40 lb bag - a total bargain with what I used to pay (Swheat Scoop for $42 for 36 lb bag). The only challenge I have is finding the right scooper, but overall I am so happy that I finally a way to do without the litter - no more tracking, no more dust inhaled by me and my kitties! Thank you so very much for sharing this with us, Susan.
    Update: I finally solved my pellet scooper problem. I found a litter scooper at Dollarama that cost CDN $1.25 and have really soft plastic slats for the flat of the scooper. The plastic was so soft that I was able to get a pair of scissors and cut out every odd slat, which resulted in a slat every 1/2". It was perfect to scoop the poop and sift out the wood pellets! Fabulous!

    I can share why it might be "leaking" for some people: Some background, I have been using this litter system for about a year now, I only have one 3&1/2yo cat who is well hydrated with her water fountain. AKA I have one cat that pees often lol. She regularly goes to the vet and is perfectly healthy.
    The reason it might be "leaking" from some people, I may be able to explain: If you do everything correctly, make sure the entire pee pad is covering the entire bottom tray, and that the two trays are perfectly lined up. I have noticed condensation and or pee build up under neath the pee pad if I go longer than a week between changing it. I try my best to change it once or twice a week to prevent this but I also have depression and that can sometimes take over and I will not change it as often as I should. That's no excuse, I am ashamed of myself for allowing my depression to take over but sometimes just changing the pee pad can become overwhelmingly too much for me to handle. I am working on it ( with professional help, please do worry) and am trying to do my best every day. But those are my thoughts, hope this helps someone experiencing this issue.

      Please don't hold yourself so accountable, no one asks for depression, it just happens. You didn't cause it. You're doing your best, that's all we can do.

    so far mine is working great. I'd like to add that you don't have to buy the expensive breeze box if you have some tools. You just need two litter boxes that will fit one on top of the other with a few inches of space free between the top boxes bottom down to the bottom. Just cuts slats in the top box and then the wet pellets will fall thru to the bottom box with the puppy pad.

      I love love love that you did a video on the new box style that appears to be an updated box version that’s a downgrade to me given the lower walls and seemingly smaller usable interior , and as you mentioned smaller slots. ( makes for need to shake more vigorously?) Is there a benefit to the newer boxes slanted bottom (gravity?) would you say? also the link to new box puppy pads is 23x30 but your video says 24x24 is xl. I have bought 2 boxes so far from sellers ( 1 ebay, 1 amazon with a picture of the older style box yet sent me the newer model! The second time I asked the seller to verify I was purchasing the exact box from the image.. You guessed it, I got the newer version. Many explatives came out of mouth at this. My hope is others will double check with sellers if they come across someone selling an unused older style box.
      Thanks . ps: your video needed kitten photo bombing like your first one:)

    We just adopted 2 senior cats yesterday. I came across this video (and it's predecessor) this morning. A quick trip to Petco and Tractor Supply and I am in business. By the way, Tractor Supply also has extra large puppy pads for a little more money. Pack of 50 was $19.99. For me the convenience of being right there outweighed the inconvenience of making a trip to a 3rd store.

    I have used mine for years, has saved me so much money and hastle. Cat switched to it without issues. I dont need 1-2 inches, just enough to cover the bottom. If the box is too high for some cats you could put a little step in front of it. My 20 year old had no issues

    Thank you for sharing the idea for this system. It really is a great system. This is safer for my two new kittens than the clumping litter. And since they will not be going outside, I have a box in each bathroom, upstairs and down. Our bathrooms are quite small, but since the boxes do not smell, this is no problem. I bought 100 puppy pads in a smaller size --square--than you recommend, but they work without so much sticking out at the edges. I am using the gray box, Petmate large, and it is fine.

    And the tip about the pine pellets from tractor supply - that's going to save us so much money! Goodness, thank you so much!

    If you have a cat that isn't taking to the pine pellets DON'T GIVE UP!! I have a rescued cat that has her front paws declawed she took to the pellets in less than a month however it took her longer to poo in it, she was leaving surprises on the bathroom rug, I just started putting down a pad on the rug so I didn't have to wash my rug all the time she has finally been using the pine pellets for all her bathroom duties!!!

    I would like to add about those hard pellets that come with the Breeze system......many people who own dogs know that dogs will eat cat poo out of a Litter box given the opportunity. These pellets will kill a dog! They are not poisonous but they cannot be digested and can cause blockages in the intestines. This information is from a Vet. I have a large dog who ate some of these on a weekend. The Vet was closed and I had to make an emergency call. Since I saw him eating them and acted right away I was instructed to feed him syrup of ipecac repeatedly to make him throw them up. Those pellets are no joke. Do not use them.

    I have the XL. I just use the green tray and the walls. It fits great in my Rubbermaid container. I use the litter box liners to catch the waste. It’s expensive to start but pays off in the long run. In South NJ the pine costs $7 for 40 lbs.

    My cat used to use the two piece Doskill (sp?) jumbo litter box and even though the lid was on secure her urine always seeped out the back -ALWAYS. I had to tape a small puppy pad behind it, to the wall, to absorb it. I upgraded to the hooded Breeeze Box. Love it. Problem solved.
    When I got the Breeze Box I trashed her other one. There was no transitioning for my girl. She took to it with no problems. Before getting this I used to changed up her litter from clumping to clay to crystals and she never rebelled against it. So glad my cat is not picky.

    I love the system. I have not been able to get my cats to poop in the new litter boxes. However, for my 2 cats I simply use 2 of the breeze systems, and one old fashioned clay (not the scoopable) and this works great for me as it cuts down on the mess and keeps my cats healthy using only natural pine and clay instead of the cancer-causion junk. The dust is cut down since I only have to use clay in one box.

      Crystal Osinoski I can’t get my one girl to use it either it’s been over a week...she’s just resorted to using the carpet for pee and poop now but the younger girl loves it. Not going to give up yet. I think the pine pellets are too hard for my older girl I softened them with water but she still won’t give it a try but hopefully soon. Which clay stuff do you use?

It will be look more neat And easy order for people too! A lot of order will go in. Thanks for you all the items you mentioned are either sold out or high price now! The companies are benefiting from you, so why not you start it? 🤔😆❤️

    Thank you so much for doing this! I have 3 cats and just implemented the system this week after moving, so it's been a bit traumatic for them - lots of changes. I, too, am having a bit of a problem with pee seeping out. I watched the video a second time to make sure I was doing it right. I think it's because the hooded box is bigger than the first version and I will have to use the extra large puppy pads. The area it is getting thru is where the original breeze tray would have been inserted. I wanted to let you know that this is a legitimate issue. The accumulation is around the rim edges of the piece that would normally house the tray. The good news is that it is all staying within the pans, but when lifted up, there is an accumulation. I couldn't understand while I was smelling pee - now I know why,. Also, I am using the Sofresh pans and the hooded breeze system is leaning forward a bit. Again, thank you so much for taking time to help make life easier and less expensive!

      You may want to remove that section of the Breeze box. It works well with just the top portion of the Breeze box and the bottom pan. You do not get as much head space for sawdust, but you do not have to worry about cleaning that midsection.

      VICTORIAN GARDENS CATTERY I've been successfully using the hooded breeze boxes for almost 3 months now and discovered the same problem that Jan was having. I'm glad I saw your comment about just getting rid of the section under the green pan because that's what I was wondering if I should try. Yes, I see that I won't get as much headspace, but I've been throwing the saw-filled pads away about once a week anyway just to eliminate any possible smell buildup. I've got a box in my master bathroom, and I really like to keep it fresh smelling in there since it's my and my husband's sanctuary lol. We just got a Scottish Fold kitten last week, and he took to the new system immediately. Whew!

    The other THANK YOU to Susan is for recommending a probiotic for my big male cat due to his very smelly stools. He is FiV positive (he was apparently dumped by his former owner when he/she moved from our apartment complex - this guy took up residence on my patio and, until I finally decided to adopt him and bring him inside, he was fending for himself). He is SUCH a "gentle giant" and so lovable that he was definitely not a feral cat. I was initially concerned about bringing him inside since I also have a 15 year old female calico who was rescued from Hurricane Katrina and I found her for adoption at the Orlando Humane Society when she was about two years old. She has always been a delicately-built cat but, since she has aged, her belly has fallen and she looks very thin and frail but is in great health. As it turned out, the big boy, "Raj," is very submissive to her. It is funny to watch my little girl whap him up the side of the head and see him literally "roll over." He loves being as close to her as she will allow.
    I asked my vet about a probiotic for Raj which she prescribed and it has indeed done wonders to cut down on the odor of his stool. I recently noticed a cat probiotic sold at our local whole food market. I need to compare the ingredients of the two and, if similar, I wouldn't need to get it as a prescription each time from the vet.
    I owe you a HUGE debt of gratitude on both the litter box system and the probiotic, Susan. Both have made living in a one-bedroom apartment with two cats so much more delightful for all three of us!
