The first prototype was an absolute gem. You could tell it was underfunded for what they probably wanted but goddam they made a beautiful game and thrilling world
when one carefully observes Alex surroundings yeah, they really invested so many stuff in Prototype 1.
As you progress you can see the pedestrians walking like they were very sick (a sign that they were soon to become infected)
And amidst all of that, a few civilians still healthy and rude when you bump into them.
I saw a mod where the devs added all unused stuff (porcupine back shield, Heavy Rifle, Jets, extra missions, etc.)
I really want a remake of this game for the new consoles, imagine the gore and powers with the new tech!
While they're at it, maybe make Prototype II a good game

Actually in the story of the game,many civilians actually joined the fight against the virus and against the military who was responsible for the infections.
It was those normal ppls who used their scientific knowledge to aid Alex mercer to become the strongest infected,and they was sadly killed by the military.
You forgot that normal infected also have super variants that can climb walls and jump multiple stories, and take even more damage than their normal counterparts.

Alex Mercer! The main protagonist of the first game, antagonist of the second, and to many the very spirit of the Prototype series; because he _is._
Anyhow, he was a scientist employed by Gentek, a company loosely controlled by the U.S. - more so operated by higher authority than the president. During his time there he took a great interest in the Redlight virus, and in merely 3 years managed to genetically engineer it to raise it's already insane mortality rate. He did so both for his fascination and borderline obsession over Redlight, and to hand of to Blackwatch and its leaders, who would use it to target certain ethnic groups and undesirable populations. In his last months he figured out that there was a conspiracy within the company to wipe out entire groups of scientists studying the disease to keep it's existence unknown. One night he took a vial containing his modified virus: Blacklight, as insurance and tried to flee the city to save himself. He was caught, and in a sociopathic rage threw the virus down, releasing it in Penn Station, killing thousands, and was gunned down by Blackwatch. His body fell onto the virus, and it consumed him, copied his DNA as a template, and completely absorbed his memories to a point where it thought it was Mercer...
So the original Alex Mercer died in Penn Station. Blacklight used him as a disguise and fooled even itself into thinking he was Mercer. I could go on, but I'd be here for ages! There's a good recap video on youtube if you wanna get a better grasp of the story!

Becoming an evolved made by Mercer would be amazing, you are nearly bullet proof, stronger than captain american (you can throw cars at flying helicopters) and can consume all the knowlege in the world.

There is one detail I believe you glossed over. It's fairly minor in relation to this video but a major spoiler for the first game (I doubt that matters for this audience but obligatory spoiler warning).
When Alex Mercer initiated the Penn Station Breakout, his body wasn't revived by the Blacklight virus. The concentrated strain consumed Alex's body in the same way it consumes others throughout the game. The confusion and 'amnesia' at the start of the game is the virus trying to process Alex's memories.
Loved this video. When I first found your “Why You Wouldn’t Survive a L4D outbreak video,” I instantly thought of Prototype and hoped for so long you’d make this very video. You were mostly accurate and even taught me, a veteran fan, some things.
I had never put two and two together that Cross was consumed by the supreme hunter (that the supreme hunter survives because of Mercer stepping in it) Dx Though that maybe I'd always missed some web of intrigue targets so I thought that Cross was infected himself but working for blackwatch. Derp.

Wouldn't "Nuking the Hell out of it" be Dropping at least 5 nukes in the same location instead of one? In that case, shouldn't that work? Nukes vaporize. Sooooooooooo those instances where Mercer survived meant he was out of the vaporization field. But then again, why didn't he seem affected by the immense pain he definitely suffered? Remember that guy who died again and again and went nuts from it? Oooh well. Good vid.

1. Alex Mercer.
2. Elizabeth Greene.
3. James Heller.
4. Cole MacGrath (aka best option).

The Markers, Hive Minds, And Brethren Moons have mind control which can overtake advanced aliens so I’m pretty sure anyone like Alex would just get rekt.
Plus they have no way to beat the boss Necromorphs like the Hive Mind or Brethren Moons.
I think it would depend on if cross infection is possible, since the Necromorphs are made out of human flesh, so it one of them "dies", or somehow gets infected by the Blacklight Virus, and it gets taken over, then it's gg ez. The same might go for dead Blacklight Tissue being turned into a Necromorph. It might become an infinite cycle if that's how it works out.
@@LeaderOfTheLostSouls They have mind manipulation, which could lead to mind control if the victim can't resist anymore, but Alex is not a normal person, and if they could manage to mess with him, then it would be way harder than normal.
And again, Alex Mercer is part of a Hive mind, so if a Hive mind gets a free pass, then so does Alex Mercer.

technically you could survive it if your on an island because the doc you mention early in the game mentions that the virus cant travel on water and also it seems like that could be effective just not any form of an offensive tactic because i dont think we have any means to kill off any of these primitively
11:21 Bullet proof armor, if it's kevlar, is already very susceptible to cutting/piercing. It's only really for stopping bullets. That's why things like ballistic knives are a big no-no, since you can take someone out with kevlar from a much further distance than you could with a regular knife. So having sharp blades that can cut through bullet-proof materials isn't really saying anything.

I did Alex Mercer in Mutants and Masterminds 2nd edition as someone who would curb stomp the Smallville take on Clark Kent, one thing I noticed was that this game was like the Ed Norton version Hulk game, but with more flesh eating and memory swallowing. @@youknowyoufuckedupright3058 Cole activated the RFI and it killed everyone with the conduit gene even if it wasn't active, but if you didn't have a latent conduit gene you would live
@@classiest there's actually theories both in game and outside of inFAMOUS that the RFI actually created newer conduits/conduit genes that laid dormant until a year later
