Yessss, it was really good. I have to say a few things about the place and lore. Yakutia - is the biggest district in Russia. They have their own language, traditions and tales. This is why in the game you can see both - russian and local writing and speech. Yakutia located far to the north and have huge wood territory. This is why there a lot of mystical traditions, tales etc. I highly recommend to check out the modern band OTYKEN. This band uses local, native languages and lore of Siberia for show.
That part in the woods is right up my alley. Except I just wished it was a different woodland setting, one more dense and not just conifer, but of course this is based on the forests in a specific geographical setting, so I completely understand. There seems to be a weird texture pop-in issue with the trees, and I still think that whole sequence felt a bit flat, but I really like the direction he was going with this.. a lot. Also loved those eerie sounds in the woods, though they were a bit loud for how distant they seemed. The atmosphere and sound in general was great!
basically 13:43 is the best part. I thought that it will be more of this but turned out quite boring and generic. Especially when you are force to aimlessly roam the woods in pitch dark.
If that is so, could you point out another game that has a sequence in a dark forest similar to this? And not one where you are just running through to get away or extremely linear. I love that idea. The only other game I found that interested me enough to play, was The Cursed Forest demo. Great graphics and a very creepy woodland setting with nice atmosphere.
