Fakers Debut Game in Korea playing Nidalee Mid vs CJ Ambition. Arcane. Midbeast. Dopa.
#Midbeast #LeagueOfLegends #Faker #FakerDebut Игры
it would be a fun series for you to break down historic matches
YES PLS
I agree
Oh yeah
Content win. Do the mad moments pros hit the map, ocelot etc
+1
I feel like people today really don't appreciate how mind blowing it was that Faker just walked up to Ambition, the reigning All-star Korean mid laner, and solo killed him
yeah well he just afk'd and died
The guy was evolving in the open
@@scripted44 he wasnt afk he was upgrating his w lol u can see the spikes show up on the model .. not so much of an all star huh
Yea it was during evaluation, that was a mess up on ambitions side not a huge play on fakers side
@@David-mc8pt funny he would still beat you even back then lol
Faker is the first player that mastered mechanical gameplay and really pioneered many aspects of it such as animation cancelling, movement, quick casting, and skill/champion interactions. I vividly remember him playing like a fighting game where he used spells perfectly together to execute a combo move. It was shown to the fullest extent during his first LeBlanc game where he dashed in and out to blow people up in under a second. If we looked at how everyone else played back then in both soloq and proplay it was as if everyone is lagging seconds behind compared to Faker. I don't think people really understand how insane it was for Faker to demonstrate this level of mechanical skill that is still regarded today as the highest ceiling possible.
old nid pounce didnt follow your cursor, it went straight in the direction your character model was facing so it was much easier to screw up esp with the terrain hitboxes not matching their in game models like they do now.
sometimes I still lineup my nid W, as if it's the old time haha
ah like Riven Q walljump
but in exchange though nidalee spear hitbox was bigger than the screen
@@CarbonTaxLOL yep I've played nid top since season 1 and I STILL do it like the old way
Also nidalee spear did more damage if you walked backwards because it went off the distance from you to the target instead of from where you threw it. Fun times
back then i was a nidalee one trick, and walls where almost impossible to jump, took me 100s of games before i could get it consistantly, it was not even meant to be a thing back then. They changed it to make it easy to do, as its one of the many things that made nidalee so strong. So i wouldnt laugh at pros for failing these jumps, because back then, it was coded so different, and the angles that he was trying to jump where a tad out. At rapters he needed to go a little more left, shorter wall. And on jarvan ulti he needed to go right more before jump so he could jump directing towards the centre of the ulti. Any angle on jump back then and it would fail.
Used to otp nida aswell - remember those map pictures with walls that you could jump over at certain spots :D even drake pit was hard af to jump over
I thought this would be a weird video at first but its actually so nice and calming to see such old league like this, and how different everything was. I would love to see you review more iconic pro league games from the past!
This is so nostalgic, thank you Midbeast. This was one of the most insane games from Faker and the only Nidalee mid that is outplayed in pro, in my opinion. This is also the game which brought me to Leauge.
I would like to see what you think about this game. Thank again for giving me good memories
wdym the only nid mid in pro? i remember a season (4 or 5 prob) where u pretty much had nidalee mid every other game
@@peterpan3022 I said that is outplayed. "Was" is more correct but I was in haste
Nidalee started way back with hotshot went into Stanley and then faker but nidalee was always a decent pick in those 4 yrs until her rework this wasnt even fakers best nida game that was vs Samsung where he destroyed pawns kata and landed ridiculous spears
@@codino97 I didn't watch all the matches before, thank you for providing information. Now Nid mid is still good, just not as much as before
WE NEED MORE OF THIS!
Just to appreciate the long way LOL gameplay micro and macro wise has come!
And to see the pro's grow with an awesome Aussie chall commentating to it.
Just goold maate...
Please Drew, do more of this.
It's so nostalgic and fun seeing you review this, good ol' times.
Man who else miss league in 2013 personally it was the most fun i had playing league of legends it would be a dream come true to experience this again in future i hope riot brings back this classic version as a game mode or something.
17:23 I laughed my fkn ass off man I swear I never heard someone fail that big
Bruh i've been deadass crying of laughter, so funny
Lol look up Kendrick Perkins trying to say Moses moody
Back when nidalee spears were thicker and dealt damage depending on the distance you were when the spear landed (so you could throw then run backwards so it increased damage) rather than now where it's based on the distance you were when you threw the skillshot.
the good old spear+flash+latern oneshot
9:53 used to be much harder back then, nidalee just jumped in the direction she was facing, rather than where the cursor was
Used to be so fun with AA champs back on by default
Lol man the nostalgia is so real. Can't believe I used to think I was late to the game back in those days
i used to watch in my phone, during classes, because i remember that worlds back in that year was in the morning, at the same time as my school
I haven't played seriously since 2014 or so and play like maybe once every year, so watching these old matches are a blast man. Please do more of these even though it makes me feel like a goddamn boomer.
17:25 laughed tears ngl
Fullmetal Jayce was my first skin I ever bought, still my primary skin for him. Not much has changed in 8 years!
"Not much has changed in 8 years!" is that a joke? lol
@@zeening he means the skin
@@zeening no.
"the lil' blue bla, blue blush... blue bush bruff"-
Midbeast 2021
Thanks though, I needed that laugh! :D
Watching what league became nowadays i feel pretty happy and privileged for playing and watching season 2/3/4. Hope one day riot will do a "classic league" on the old map and with old champions
Todays plat 1 prob has a chance vs competitive teams from here, possibly even lower plat. I was diamond during s3 and came back recently to play. It was a very painful learning curve to even climb out of silver/gold. Ended the current season at plat 3 after relearning everything. People nowadays have a lot sharper macro and are used to playing aggressive. Mechanics and lane management of diamond s3 is like silver today.
Facts. The kill Faker got lvl 6 against Ambition was just a hard grief by him, judging by todays standards.
Yeah I have a same thing with my brother he use to play in season 4 and I started last season and I am silver and he was plat back then and I always say I think people weren't as good back then
It’s a lot easier for new players to learn and pick up information considering people before them are literally showing them what to do and how to do it. Just new seasons players are just upgrading already learnt knowledge
low gold solo queue games have better macro than this game tbh
@@peterpan3022 def would not go that far lol
Kha evolve W character lock, I cant believe Monte and Doa missed that 6:21, also back in the day Nidalee spear damage scaled with the distance between Nidalee and target so what HotshotGG did on her was throw spear go in cat form and W+ run away so you get most of the time either oneshot or 90%+ hp damage.
also another big factor is a larger ap ratio and those spear were literally double the hitbox when they changed nidalee it went from 60 to 30 width. I do wonder what patch this was played on tough because they changed how the spear damage based on distance was calculated in 3.14
Yeah I remember that from my s2 days I still accidentally do it sometimes every once in a while..muscle memory
Dope content man, I tend to watch this video ever 3-4 months just for the hype. We miss Monte on the desk :S
Nice video bro, more of these would be good!
Old school review lets go! It'd be awesome if you did a series of iconic games. First one that jumps out is SKT vs Rox Tigers with THAT Ashe arrow
It's physically painful watching those stacked waves crash
5:40 This is one of Faker's most valuable plays, the context to it is amazing and probably only behind the Ryu solo kill.
In this game, Ambition did not have an issue with his computer. He was evolving his W at level 6, which immobilizes the champion. It is an ultimate disrespect to Faker given where he is doing this. Ambition, at this point, is regarded the best mid laner in Korea. Faker came up in his first game and solo killed ambition when ambition disrespected him.
Don't think it was disrespect just mistake
What disrespect? He just accidentally upgrade a skill, stoup coming up with random bullshit.
And how is a free kill valuable?
Yo, you need to do more of these.
"blue blush bruff" should be the new sub sound on twitch imo, laughed like crazy haha
If you want to review historic/iconic matches, I recommend SKT T1K vs FNC season 4 Paris All Star groupstage match. One of my favourites of all time it's such a fun game to watch with SKT running all their new (at the time) worlds skins
Madreds razor ? Good times. Also to add more context nid spears were very hard to dodge back then. The range was longer ? You could throw them from fog of war, and they would often bug out and and you wouldn’t even see them till last minute.
I think it's interesting that nowadays evolving the Kha ult under turret is considered such a rookie mistake, but back then people just didn't punish something like that so hard. Being under turret was considered pretty safe back then. Ambition probably though he'd eat an auto for it, not straight up die.
love u Man Keep covering more games ❤️❤️
props for this review idea!! GJ Midbeast. More to come? ;)
17:23 The blue blush - blue brush - blue bush BRUFFF. WHAT ARE YOU SAYING MAN I fell out of my chair laughing
The matches were so fiesta, but so fun to watch. Every game being so clear cut and precise down to the second something spawns to the second your third tp of the third game of the third week comes off cooldown being when you do something is so boring. It felt fun going back and seeing this, i could watch a million of these and never watch current. But just personal opinion. Games and teams had more individuality which made getting engaged easy.
it would be nice to watch a series of you reviewing classic games like this
It would be so much fun if you reacted to kt vs skt at the end of season 3 to qualify for worlds, at the time they were the best two teams in the world
Great video, enjoyed it a lot
dude i miss playing gragas, kha, nida etc. mid, it was so much fun back then, i still love the game but pls one day let me play the old lol
these throwback games are big brain content
I loved the meta back in the day with this nidalee spear poke and AP tristana mid lol. The amount of cheese I did in soloQ
Ap trist was never meta but a fun champ nonetheless jump dfg e r and boom
I always loved kha zix mid, I wish it would become viable again
@@jcrc1 it basically went from talon to k6 to zed to riven and now nome of them have their primary role as mid sadge
That's pretty good idea for whole series - Best matches from Worlds
Nidalee: sits in bush for 3 seconds
Mid: wow look at faker solo hunting, playing with such confidence
Lulu play at 19:29 is actually kind of nuts for S3
Man how I've missed the roaring of the crowd whenever a Nid lands a spear
please do more of these classic games!
Great times! Good to remember that spear hitbox had twice the width back in the days.
Series on the best historic matches would be cracka
When midbeast said "leg it" i had a nostalgia flash to Watching that guy throwing chicken nuggets out of a sunroof, pretending to steal to evade capture, and bullriding tall strangers. RUclips used to have such fun content!!
dropping a like on a 36 minute video when it was posted 18 minutes ago, i already know it's a banger as always drew
Wow this takes me way back! I feel so old now..
Watch Uzis debut at worlds vs OMG! 16 years old and you could already tell he would be something special!
It was s3 as well
"Blue blush bruff" LMAO, dying here.
Nice reviewing idea!❤️
Damn memories, also old nida spear traveled faster + bad graphics made it hard to dodgel. Great video tho!
And ap sion were played S3 till S4
seeing all the old items and icons gave me so much nostalgia
U have to remember the old Runes. I think there was a meta for Deathcap first with all AP runes. Also old Deathcap built from NLR and Blastingwand I think.
Nidalee spear was a lot thicker missile back then and it was an oppressive poke which is why riot made it scale harder with lower base damage (weaker when you hit it close) and also much thinner so its more dodgeable.
Nidalee's pounce didn't jump towards cursor but depending on the direction your character was facing, made it difficult to jump over a wall when you were already right next to the wall.
10 CS a minute is a bit different to calculate because the beginning of the game also took a lot longer to start up, everyone just stood around for 2 minutes whereas now minions reach mid-lane at around 1:30. That is an extra wave at 10 minutes. enough to skew the stat at 10 minutes by 0.6 - 0.7 cs/minute just on it's own. Thought I should bring this up since you really like to talk about the 10 cs/min stat :D
i used to main nidalee and i forgot how crazy the spear range was
definitely make this the start of a series of some sort
Ngl, I would mind seeing a breakdown of the Ryu v Faker match with the legendary quote "FAKER WHAT WAS THAT?!?!"
yep this was truly nostalgic.....faker looks so confident on screen.
Toyz is also my model midlaner. I use to watch all of his games. Sadly he is imprisoned just a few weeks ago.
wooh baby! get up, midlord upload!
loved this video!
Keep doing these Thiccbeast
love you midbeast. im in a bad way and you calm me down bro
Caster casting with the mouse moving all over....
Nostalgia
I miss the game look back then, the darkness over the map
wut? the game looked atrocious back then the UI and name plates covering half the damn screen and blocking actual champion combat with the giant blocky ass letters and low res giant health bars
it literally looks like a cheap WC3 ripoff with a worse UI
@@zeening "wut? ur opinion is wrong ur not allowed to like things unless they're perfect"
Hey Drew, it would be nice if you could review Faker's first LeBlanc game! It was quite the performance back in the day
Love these old reviews bro
btw there is a vod on afreeca tv where he is streaming from 2012 you could review that one too
Yooo this game was a banger, not only was faker there, mr Flame Horizon himself is there aswell
you should review the tsm vrs clg game where reginald blamed wildturtle, that would be pretty interesting
Nice video! Would you mind doing fakers zed game next? Where the commentator says FAKER WHAT WAS THAT
More historic pro games please :^)
oh wait earliest I've been to a midbeast vid 😲
One change they did really well was the baron siege buff. It's healthy that you cannot just sit in base and farm lanes without any punishment
HOLYSHIT NEW BANGER CONTENT
Reviewing the CLG EU Games with Froggen when they made it to the Champions Finals would be awesome!
Please do more videos like this!
5:43
In Korea, We call this moment "That Evolution"
The old muramana icon 🥺
It's so beautiful
rushed deathcap actually was the way back then. those 120Ap + 40% AP BUFF DELISH
you can see ambition level up then he transform his W, thats why he stay still, ambition know the way to always make people laugh
I like how you an see the spectators mouse just clicking around the screen in the goddamn official broadcast. Its really changed since then
I miss the precise animations we used to have. Even caster minion shots are eaaier to track in old games. Also, remember when lvl 1 autos against another champ didnt take 10% hp per hit...
It should be more videos like this one
This was a great video
I remember back then headhunter nidalee skin is such an op skin you can't see the spears coming at you
oooo so thats the origin of Flame Horizon sheeesh, to think that plays 8 years ago still echoes today
I'm a support main and I miss before the sightstone. Sightstone was the start of supports being not supports and carrys instead. During season 2 and before it would be 40 mins in and the only items you would have is level 2 boots, philostone and heart of gold, 5 to 15 wards and a pink oracle. You would be lucky to level up a gp10 into a bigger item. That was true support/ward bot/cc/heal I loved it!!!!!!!!!
The commentary when they talk about Faker not knowing blue buff timers and doing nothing just strikes my soul as slander towards our lord.
But I know it's not, so it's super entertaining xD
Long time no see benji playing LOL,
Back in the day he was so op with Nidale jungle❤
lil hit of nostalga, Cheers drew
Hahaha Damn! I've watched this game so many times and I also was watching it live on Twitch. Reason is I'm a big Faker fan also Azbu/CJ Blaze was my Favorite League team until they disbanded both there League teams.
the only thing i remember from this match is the infamous ambition's evolve 😭
Prior to this Mid Nid was a niche/troll pick. I remember when Bischu played in Korea ppl would int because he picked Nid Mid. But after this game it started to pick up and eventually got nerfed lol
back then, the meta was about money not pressure. So lanes pushing into them is good as long as its not getting to a turret. As then enemy team has to answer your push, and you just hold them there as 5 as your minions in side lanes die. You then back off before they get to the turret and take all the farm, denying lots of farm from the enemy
its crazy how much the game evolved
Dethcap rush was very common rush back then btw. Other items gave way less AP. It was the single highest ap item in the game. Also not sure if Athene's did exist yet. It wasn't always around (first introduced in Darius Patch).
I'm also quite sure an old team would slaughter todays pro team with those old patches. The game was very different. New teams would have to adapt, not the old ones :) You simply can do stuff nowadays, that was a terrible choice back then. Damage values have changed, speed has changed, In S3, I'd just go Skarner and shurelia rush, gank lanes at ultra speed, slowdown ult kill on ult cd. They actually nerfed shurelia's because of this at some point (and gp/5 items in the jungle).
