This is when skating looks the most beautiful to me, relaxed and flowing with nothing to prove. My favorite of all the Suciu content. Couldn't think of a better way to cap off his historic year.
I agree, nothing gets me more stoked to skate. But the music and editing is the icing on the cake, I would rather watch this than street league, nothing against that crazy shit but this makes me want to skate
Just beautiful. Cannot think of a more deserving skateboarder after the work he's put in. His dedication to skateboarding as art won't cease to impress.
I love how they kept it simple and threw in tricks that wouldn't be in a "soty run". Things like the manuals at 2:13 -- beauty in simplicity, which we don't see as often in heavy parts.
What i love most about Mark's footy is that it looks like he just finds anything and everything he can skate in the city, and shreds it. It's not just the biggest most famous rails and stairs
"our “Ground Glass” series that ditches the one-upmanship and stair counting, and focuses back on just some of the bits that make Mark special" I like that. More Ground Glass for other skaters please.
I paused after a few seconds just cuz i have to give my appreciation to the editor for putting on a Cocteau Twins song (I think this is the second time this year, that i know of, that theyre in a skate vid... and im loving it !!!!) A breath of fresh air from too many generic tunes all over, with all due respect Best skating, As usual, Mark. cheers =]
@@scovell7 It was definitely James' who filmed and edited the video creative decision to use the track, as we used to play in a band together in Australia before he moved to the US and he is a serious shoe gaze, dream pop fanatic haha
I always liked skating downtown. Now I work there, and there's less skating for this old man pushing 50. It's nice to see Mark on spots I see daily and reminisce. I remember skating the Banks, the pyramids, the Hubba. It's great to watch a high level appreciation not of those standards (some now gone), but a shredding and mastery of the daily and less glamorous spots. Also used to hit under the BQE in Wburg, Dag Hammarskjold plaza and under FDR by Stuy Town. Now there is a neighborhood skatepark almost everywhere. Thanks for sniffing out some more newly skateable areas and totally slaying them on film. Cheers Mark.
Refreshing part. Mark Chillciu I am kind of glad this is more of an artist and chill part... I don't think I am ready for another heavy part like "Flora" yet. I am still watching it on repeat.
My favorite thing about Mark's skating is that none of his tricks look like he put actual effort in. They all look so fluid, and smooth, like they're warm up tricks that he does all the time.
Maybe it’s all the slow motion or maybe it’s the fact that it’s filmed in 24fps, or maybe it’s the fact that it’s so relaxed and chill, but something about this video is dreamlike to me, and that quality alone has made it one of my favorite parts to come back to
I'm not really into the artsy part of filming but man there are a couple shots in here that are amazing! I never really realized the artistic value of the videography. The shot of Mark walking up the street with the board in his hand is so perfect and captures the feeling to me of skating in a big city where no one cares what you are doing and you're just skating in busy place doing your own thing. They both killed it in this one.
Love that 16mm saturation! Nice mellow part, clearly a few good days hanging, a nice reprieve from the sheer brutality/futurism of his other parts. Last trick was dope too.
I was starting to worry since I hadn't seen him drop a new part in the past few days. Thankfully he's okay. But seriously, well done. Love the feel of this one. This dude really deserves his SOTY award.
Film looks so good, especially lends itself to slo-mo, which is kind of the best way to watch skating. Reminds me of the videos I grew up on in the 80's, Wheels of Fire. Oh, and this Sucui guy is pretty good too!:p
this is why people love him. hes the best at this shit. so fucken smooth and proper. but then wtf he throws in hammers out of nowhere. shoulda been soty.
finally he releases something
HHHAAA
Sad it's only a 3 minute video
😂😂😂
Yeah where has he been? Almost forgot about him
I was getting worried that he quit skating.
This is when skating looks the most beautiful to me, relaxed and flowing with nothing to prove. My favorite of all the Suciu content. Couldn't think of a better way to cap off his historic year.
wdym cap off his year? He's still got 4 video parts to release
I agree, nothing gets me more stoked to skate. But the music and editing is the icing on the cake, I would rather watch this than street league, nothing against that crazy shit but this makes me want to skate
Wtf His skating looks so pretentious
Just beautiful. Cannot think of a more deserving skateboarder after the work he's put in. His dedication to skateboarding as art won't cease to impress.
I like that the part makes it seems like he’s on his way somewhere. Makes everything look so casual no stress at all
I love how they kept it simple and threw in tricks that wouldn't be in a "soty run". Things like the manuals at 2:13 -- beauty in simplicity, which we don't see as often in heavy parts.
Expensive to shoot with 16mm so I can imagine every try being expensive.
When you put out 15 parts in a year some shit has to be relatively mellow
@@einsikallin I'd send the world's economy into turmoil trying one of those tricks
Film is pricey vs digital where you can try multiple times without breaking your filmers wallet 😂 dope video and always sick skating

Pure art. Let's see how many parts he's gonna drop till end of the year
what a beautiful victory lap, a joy to watch
He is incredible. So pumped he won SOTY . He is now my number 2 favorite of all time only behind the legendary Dylan Rieder.
Was just randomly thinking about Dylan, he had that new aged style ten years ago, such a shame he passed away, he such a figure in skateboarding
@@brandonritchie106nobody did it like Dylan.
So weird. Thought I was looking at Dylan when I saw the guy at 3:10. Then I see this comment about him
In my opinion, this was my favorite part of his this year

From that first beautiful kickflip… to that final trick this was magical to watch! Filming and editing and the music selection was perfect.
God, that kickflip was so beautiful I felt it in my gut

Pretty sure it was Mark's choice as his musical aesthetic is fairly consistent throughout his parts. It's a big reason why I enjoy them so much.

What's the other video?
Mark doesn't do victory laps. This is him as SOTY.
Sick filming as well James. This should be on the regular for both you and Mark

so it is 16mm. wish he used ektachrome

this mans skating makes me feel so much inside what a year
God damn he really took not getting SOTY for the Verso part to heart last year
The post-SOTY announcement release of this is a form of art unto itself.
A masterpiece both skating and filming 🥲
I feel like this is the kind of skatevideo you rewatch being 70 with tears in your eyes.
This is so beautifulllllllll especially with it being shot on film. Nice work Mark and James Thompson!!
This video is like a dream, the editing, the music choice, it just feels like a dream, in such an incredible way. I love it.

Hyped for Mark. The SOTY two years in a row 📠💯👑
What a lovely artfully gentle and still-impressive epilogue to this past few months of mind melting Suciu videos
Beautiful all around; skateboarding looks so much better on film/tape.
Well deserved SOTY.

filming is beautiful I love the 16mm series
Mark provides a complete meal set, starter - appetizer - 2 main courses and now a dessert
5 parts in one year..... Mark is LEGENDARY!
Simple but sophisticated. Artfully and tastefully done. "Closing the curtain" video from Suciu for 2021. Well deserved SOTY.
I wish i had an inch of this dudes talent. Just amazing.
1:58 is my fav part. The no comply right after like don’t mind if I grind this expensive marble planter
one of my fav bands and skaters together awesome

Sebastien Tellier's FANTINO feats perfect with the second section.
This is one of the most beatuful parts I've ever seen. Pure art.
Someone has to make a full length of all the suciu vids of this year
this is beautiful! appreciate the old film look! gave a different feel to the video. Way more relaxed. props to the editor as well! love it!
I feel like this is the equivalent of his 50 at the end of verso. Just a “fuck it” to mess with everyone, because he’s THAT good.
No less than three 50s in this one. Love it ❤️
that last trick was definetly one of the most intricate things ive ever seen ever
The vibes are real, thanks Mark and co
so sick that this isn't a part of his soty run but rather a victory lap showing jenkem's appreciation for one of the best skaters of our generation.
That flat ground frontside flip is the beautiful visual. Mark. You are the 🐐
Wow this was a work of art!
Exactly. Not about non stop bangers just skating down the street and just feeling it
I love how skateboarding and the medium of film can beautifully strengthen each other
So good! Makes me miss those summer sessions
Love Suciu and the Cocteau Twins both so much
Best part he has put out IMO.
Good to see he’s still skating.

Of all the parts he released in 2021 this one might be my favorite.
Mark its okay you already got SOTY, you don't have to put out footage every single week forever
Yes he does! Don’t put any ideas in his head.
