My husband loved the woods , he always said, he wanted to live off the grid . My husband past away almost 5 yrs ago. He would of loved ❤ watching this 👍🥰 The mouse dilemma, shred Some Irish spring soap around. Stay safe 👍
Good idea to move the wood. Mice can get through a hole the size of a dime, and rats can get through a hole 1/2" - 1" or even less space if it is a lateral opening. You may want to keep any food in a tin or jar, something they can't chew through, and don't leave any food or garbage. Love your videos! ☮️❤️😎
You two are precious & obviously love & respect each other. It's the small things that keep a relationship happy. My husband made me laugh every single day- he told me that to hear me laugh, knowing I was happy, made his heart full. I miss him every day- lost him Christmas Eve just before midnight. He was already in hospital- but bleeding out doesn't give you a 'head's up' (usually). If the med staff knew it would happen, they failed to tell us. I just adore your little A Frame cabin! Such a beautiful place in the woods for an escape but I don’t like sharing space with little mousies! Hope you find their entrance and send them packing. You all certainly know how to live! Thanks for another sweet video and I am really glad that your channel is growing! 😘
Maybe get a UV Blacklight LED flashlight. At night turn out all the lights and shine your UV flashlight along edges and corners of walls or where you found mice droppings. Rodent urine shows up under UV lighting. Follow urine trail, hopefully will lead you to the entry point mice are getting into your cabin. Great cabin build, great vid...Thank you for sharing! 👍
The reason why you don't stack wood against a wood building is because it draws moisture and will rot the structure. Also so you don't introduce termites into the building.
Lol never saw anyone so afraid of a little mouse. Lol so funny have to watch the reaction again. Mice can get through the tiniest crack or spot. They eat foam too.
@@TinyCabinLife grossed out, understandable. Love your channel. Husband and I will be watching. We are nature enthusiasts. Live on large wooded acres ... love the seclusion, privacy and peace. The holes on the outer flue pipe outside. Get some 1/4 inch galvy hardware cloth, wrap it around the outer flue pipe and wire it. It will keep the rodents out of you're cabin. Hardware cloth is wire not cloth. It's just called cloth. You can buy it at a fleetfarm store or hardware store. You can still use the wood stove with the hardware cloth on the pipe. Good luck.👍

I've always loved you, and loved Rock the Park! I think I've seen just about every episode! I'm enjoying your tiny houses, your travel house, and now this tiny little a-frame, however, I probably have some news you don't want to hear. If there is any opening, that is the circumference of a pencil or so, anything larger than that, I can guarantee you a mouse can get into. Their skulls are soft, and they can literally squeeze through the tightest of spots. So if that mouse got in there once before, whether or not the woodpile was right there, isn't really your issue. You probably de-homed him without really good cause. The fact is, it doesn't matter where you put that wood, if there's food in that cabin, and that Mouse thinks he can get in there, or can get in there to chew on your blankets or anything else that he can make another nest out of, they will continue to do so. Awwww, poor mousey. I would have built a warm mouse house and placed it nearby under the new pile of wood under the tree with some nuts in the shell. Maybe that's just me but I have done that before and it works.🐀🌰🥜🐁

If the cracks are less than 1/4 inch silicone caulk should seal it up nicely and they would have to really work at it to get through and if they do you can see where

Thanks so much! I don’t worry as much about wildlife but I do worry about ticks on Ellie and myself. I actually got a bad tick borne illness just this last summer…it’s definitely a concern
Try this stuff from Amazon, Grandpa Gus’s peppermint based mouse repellent. Can’t get a link to work, but the peppermint satchels worked well at our camp in Maine.
@@bendevick9637 I personally like the Travel Cabin a bit more right now - only because it’s in a new place every time I take it out. But there’s also something really nice about having everything setup already, like what we have with the A Frame. And there aren’t any real unknowns either, so it tends to be more relaxing. Great question 👍🏽
A mouse can eat through the insulation and get into the smallest places that you wouldn’t think of. If there is a small crack where the door closes they can find any tiny spot or eat through.
Love the video. I'd get a few rat traps with covers so the dog does not get into them. Plan for the long run. The mice/ etc... will be an issue for many, many years. Sucks I know...
Mice can flatten themselves to get into the smallest spaces. You may not even be able to see the space. Their bones/bodies are made to do this. Those little buggers!!!

Cook on your wood stove with that fire going. :)
Love your videos, and how excited you are to be outside. But don’t you worry about being eaten by a wolf or coyote? And Ellie is just a happy adorable doggie. Don’t you worry about tics for her. Just curious. Keep up the good work.
Great to know! I’ll look it up
thanks for the video
Enjoy!
@@TinyCabinLife do you like staying in your travle cabin or your a frame more
@@bendevick9637 I personally like the Travel Cabin a bit more right now - only because it’s in a new place every time I take it out. But there’s also something really nice about having everything setup already, like what we have with the A Frame. And there aren’t any real unknowns either, so it tends to be more relaxing. Great question 👍🏽
@@TinyCabinLife cool
nice, 😊
😎👍🏽
Dude !! I Love it !!!!!! i have five cabins but i want to make a little one like yours so comfy cozy !!! :)
Dang!! 5 cabins! 🙌🏽 Thanks so much for watching!
WE CALLED BURRS TAGALONGS🙂😂💯🖖🏻🤙🏻💚SUPER COOL
Haha that’s a good name for them!
👍👍👍👍
A mouse can eat through the insulation and get into the smallest places that you wouldn’t think of. If there is a small crack where the door closes they can find any tiny spot or eat through.
Totally. I’m going to have to really search for the hole
Looks like a small piece of paradise. Also looks like Bigfoot country . Any thoughts on sasquatch? D. Tatts.
It’s definitely a little paradise!! And I’m not a Bigfoot believer myself but I guess you never know!
Love the video. I'd get a few rat traps with covers so the dog does not get into them. Plan for the long run. The mice/ etc... will be an issue for many, many years. Sucks I know...
Totally 👍🏽👍🏽 Thankfully we haven’t seen any for a while. But we’re prepared!
Also, termites or other insects can come from the ground up and if you have wood stacked against your cabin they could do some damage.
Absolutely 👍🏽 I’m glad that I moved it
Mice can flatten themselves to get into the smallest spaces. You may not even be able to see the space. Their bones/bodies are made to do this. Those little buggers!!!
I know 😫 they’re crazy little animals. Thankfully there hasn’t been any sign of them down there lately
Mice can fit through a hole the size of a pencil they crazy animals lol
They really are! That’s what makes it so maddening 😅
@@TinyCabinLife We live in the woods and deal with mice it is rough sometimes we got a cat no more mice! lol
@@beardedginger9175 That’s legit!! We might need to do that
@@TinyCabinLife A cat is awesome because they are independent they do their own thing, ours is an inside outside cat and he is awesome and very loved by the fam lol
Everyone know mice have teleportation powers. No container is impenetrable to them. :)
Haha for real 😅👍🏽
Great Video
Thank you!
Use a pallet to keep wood off the wet ground.
Good call 👍🏽 I’ll snag one
just look for droppings. They deficate where they eat and they can go anywhere they can get their head past.
👍🏽👍🏽
You just got a mouse high by leaving that cup it’s heart might explode lol
Haha 😅
Is Ellie not a little uncomfortable sleeping with that harness on all night? Enjoying your videos very much ❤
Thanks for watching!! She doesn’t mind it. It’s really padded 👍🏽
