You kind sir are a rare and special kind of crazy. Great video! Great rinding! Thank you very much! And thank you for not adding any annoying music, since the UGS is one of the best sounding stock motorcycles ever.
In Germany there is a team of engineers that worked on the urban project that are jumping (as much as a well mannered German can) up and down saying yes yes yes that is what this motorcycle was designed to do! Great vid!
Glorious! I just watched some pro reviewer saying this bike was a horrible off-road machine. Thanks for showing what a capable bike it is in the hands of the right rider.
I rented this bike for a week in LA recently and fell in love with it. I did street riding only, tons of fun in the canyons. Figured it would be a great scrambler. So cool to see this. Just hearing that engine again brings a smile to my face, loved the brutal midrange torque. Thanks for the video.
That was great, and the exhaust note of the GS was the perfect soundtrack!. Great riding on the forest road, and the off road section!. I'm seriously interested in the Urban GS....this film will be an influence for sure! Cheers, Steve
This video deserves to become a classic. A bit like the bike, it is stripped down to what is really needed and so much more engaging, enjoyable and inspiring for that.
Great video! I spent the whole day yesterday looking which 2 bikes would handle my off-road and on-road needs. I am now going with the Urban GS and a set of Wilburs. Thank you so much. I always wanted a boxer but just never cared for the big GS ADV bikes.
Happy to see an Urban GS off-road and get a sense for how it performs. Looks like it switches back and forth pretty well with road-riding. Thanks for the upload!
Great video and great riding skills. I agree with n3qdz (below) about the engineers in Germany jumping up and down. Made me laugh. Was amazed to see you have cast wheels. Obviously you’ve got excellent off-road riding skills so to all the know-it-all “experts” who say the Urban G/S is only capable of handling smooth, graded fire roads, I say, take a look at this guy’s video!
I bought a 2021 UGS to do exactly this kind of riding....most you tubers dismiss this bike as capable and Roar Lorentsen proves the bike, in stock form, is more than capable...of course Roar is a skilled rider but this is so reassuring!!! I knew my choice was a good one! Thank you!
I know a few lads here in the UK that would cringe when watching this for they'd never take there Gs off roading in extreme terain for fear of getting there bike dirty. Great video and good insight into what this bike is originally built for.
Just wow, thought this was another plain Jane POV on the GS as I’m considering the purchase and you blew my mind!!! Well done. I cringed on a few moments. Fantastic riding
I recently have been trying to figure out these bikes and am trying to find something fairly specific. This video answered all the questions. Well done and thank-you!

Great video. Thank you. I owned R9T '14, but could hardly even think about leaving asphalt. It was literally pain in the ass just to ride on bumpy paved country roads, not speaking about riding deep in the forests.. Now that is a perfect candidate for a low range holiday ride.
Thank you for making and sharing this video! This is exactly the kind of riding I usually end up doing. This was an excellent demonstration of bike's capability.

@@Urkain87 Did you develop your off-road skills on this bike, or were you already a dirtbiker before? You appear to have a great bike handling skills. But I know nothing about it, I’m just kind of considering an adventure bike. Not sure how much I would ever get off road, and would almost certainly avoid anything as technical as you’re doing here.
I can feel the speed from this video. It conveys the splendor of bmw rninet urban g/s, which can demonstrate versatile performance on rough roads and asphalt roads.
Still enjoying this video a lot. I will add just a technical video suggestion that you might want to try exporting with a higher bit rate, because that will give you more detail in the moving sections of the video, like on the road and trail. Of course if your camera can’t capture super high but rates then it doesn’t really matter what you export. Just a tip, in case you didn’t know. Still a tremendous video, and thanks for creating and publishing it!
