    Another thing they do in Africa... is soldier flies. Turn literally anything that once was alive, quickly into compost.
    They're in America too btw :D I wild catch them in Texas.
    So if you're using the rabbits for meat, the soldier flies will convert the leftovers to compost pretty quick.

    Thank you for making this video! Would you mind explaining specifically when the urine should be used? Do you apply it before planting or just when the plants need a boost? And same question but for rabbit poo and bunny poo tea?

    • @signsforlifehomestead8238
      @signsforlifehomestead8238  Год назад +2

      I use the 'proverbial poo pellets' to condition soil. Roto-till them into the soil as you prepare the garden. Or spread them as compost if you no-till. Use sparingly because the pellets tend to compact especially when they go from moist to dry.
      As for the urine, apply it as you would Miracle Grow. It is a great booster But remember to dilute it because the nitrogen will burn.
      Let me know how it works for you.

    Do you have issues separating the nuggets from the liquids? I am hoping to design a hutch that can collect both, but separately.
    Also, could you give me an idea of the quantity of both that you get per rabbit?
    Edit to say....I should have finished watching the video before asking my question

    Rabbits have that strong odor. I fugured that it benefits the soil. Nitrogen is a must to grow anything. May you grow a big hunk if corn. Those cattle are hungry.

      The rabbitry has a shed roof and our temperatures are typically mild. Hence they get the protection from rain and direct sun as well as lots of fresh air.

      I just brought mine from Tractor Supply. If used as they come straight out of the box, they are a bit flimsy. So, I bought rebar ties and a tie twisting tool to reinforce the structure. I have had them for several years now, fully suspended, and they are holding up just fine.

    What is the difference between using the urine and/or the bunny poop in the garden?

    • @signsforlifehomestead8238
      @signsforlifehomestead8238  Год назад

      You can think of it as the difference between Miracle Grow and a bag of Black Cow Manure. The urine has a higher Nitrogen content plus the ability to use as a non-kill pest and insect control.
      This video may be of help.

    I have the same type of cages and am concerned if they will hold if hanging. Have you had any problems?

    • @signsforlifehomestead8238
      @signsforlifehomestead8238  Год назад +2

      Good question.
      I reinforced the cages with rebar ties on all side sides as well as the door. The ties on the sides I twisted tightly and it really strengthened the overall integrity of the cage. As for the door I left the twist loose as not to interfere with the swing of the door.
      The cages are hung by para-cord but I have a carabiner clip at each corner. The para-cord is laced through the carabiner to four separate eye bolts which are fastened in the roof joist. Hence the rabbits can't chew the cord and a truckers hitch in the cord allows me to level the cages.
      Thanks!

      Might it be that one or both girls have development challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorder? It's not disrespect. They're being themselves and their father has the patience and gentleness to allow them to be themselves. He knows yelling at them or ordering them to go away may not be helpful.

      You should read the channel’s description. The children were born deaf and rescued from a troubled circumstance. They have no concept of the volume pitch that bothers you. My feelings were opposite yours when watching this. This video is as much an example of compassion, gentleness, and patience in parenting, as it is about rabbit urine. Marty deserves a medal in this instance, not correction.

      @@davidjoseph3912 No matter their hearing or medical issues, children should learn respect. Read the bible. If these children are uncontrolable ( which I believe is false) than he maybe better off to find a place more conducive to speaking in a quieter area. If you take on children to help them, than do so. Don't allow disrespect from any child or you will always get disrespect from them as adults. That's whats wrong with type of parenting. Who's the adults in this situation.With youing your thought, you may as well let them raise their selve and feed them only. RIDICULOUS

      @@burnindaylighthomestead2977 On the contrary your judgement on this is worldly and lacking Biblical compassion. He has adult children who are highly successful in society, and were raised with Biblical standards of obedience to parents and respect. Your comments come to me as a reminder of our human limitations when casting judgment of others. Be careful.

      Both girls are joy-fully profoundly deaf.
      The channel is as much of a teaching tool for them as anything else. Teaching in the present as well as a future reference catalog of Daddy's heart when I am not longer able or around.
      They are the blessing to us.
      Thank you for understanding. That was an early venture and they get much better as we go.
