i actually bought this game brand new for a dollar at the flea market. but since my PC doesn't use the big floppy disks, it's more of a "Bookshelf Prop"
We must have had a really good sound blaster or something because I remember the music sounding way better and the effects I'm sure of it! The game sucked though because it had a bug in it that didn't let you drive the turtle van. I think it may have been a demo or something?
The graphics in this game were actually pretty good compared to the NES version. Problems with it: the level 3 ledge glitch (you could get past it by cheating, hold A-S-G to walk anywhere on the map, ie. past that area), you couldn't find turtles after they'd been "captured", which made death far too punishing, Leo's sword was far too weak, and you couldn't find extra weapons around the place randomly after you killed bad guys.
executed mnu.bat or just type in the command TMNTEGA.EXE AD at the prompt. i also commented on your tmnt video. pc speaker and tandy sound loads better then adlib. adlib seems very rushed. the composer mike had to of been rushed when he wrote the music.
The music is awesome but the jump sound effect is horrendous! And i noticed that these are the same that made the TMNT game conversion that made the Castlevania conversion for DOS too. Now i understand why it sucks Ultra Hard. ;-)
Ya know, I remember seeing the PC version advertised in magazines when I was little, but I never got to see or play it. I wasn't sure if it'd be any different than the NES version and I was hoping it would be. I'm glad to see that it is somewhat different. Very bizarre.
This game looks and sounds awful. Which sux because a PC should have higher processing power than a NES. Each turtle walks like they're fucking constipated and are eagerly walking to get to the end of the stage, and they even have a jumping sound. A sound that reminds me of when u gotta shit, and u end up farting so hard that it sounds like a A-flat coming from a trumpet...
This game was horrible AND glitched. You couldn't even continue past a certain point in the game. I hated that too especially since I played that far as a kid just out of principle of finishing what I started.
I can't believe that in this game, if you get hit by those vehicles, you don't die straight away. In the NES version, YOU DO! AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY DESTROY THEM AS ONE TURTLE! WTF?
The NES version is only version i've played and it's an awful game. The PC version looks better. You can see more colors on the turtles. Now that annoying jumping sound idk wtf they were thinking when they did that. But why argue about a shitty game. The NES version is shitty. The second version was better but I say stick to the SNES and Genesis version or XBLA. This version ir horrible on the NES and PC.
this game dominated me countless times when i was a kid

The jumping sound isn't nearly as annoying when using the Tandy 1000/PCjr's sound chip as it is here with the AdLib sound synthesizer.
The characters look more like the first issue of the comics than the NES game.

That's because the sound chip back then was primitive.
hey where's the Ninja Turtle theme when you kill Rocksteady? and why does donatello slide over to April?
Haha.....Turtles look like Dwarfes!

wow, they sure did add a lot of frames to the walking sprite, but I guess that can't save the child-drawn-looking graphics :(
This looks even weirder than the nes version.
lol how did you program this? its very funny
Music sounds like Sega Genesis!
Which version of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is better? The NES or the DOS version?
executed mnu.bat
or just type in the command
TMNTEGA.EXE AD
at the prompt.

@snakeps3rules i actually own this game. it came with the tmnt coloring program
a 286 machine
It looks better than thge NES version.
And after watching, wow it's so completely awful.
I thought the NES one looked rough.
the controls are quite broken in this version
was there any more NES games that was put on PC
James Guinnup Castlevania was another that was put on PC.
Tmnt the arcade game and I think caveman games
i should go back and try the amiga version it probably had better sound since it had an advanced sound system.
How do you have FM Sound?
who did you get this game??

@Luigi84289
Dude i really beat the PC Version, me and my neighbor, played this Game the Complette Summer. Every Day 1-3 Hours.
Was there really a soundtrack to the PC port that sounded like this?
I thought the PC port just had the horrible speaker sound..
the PC version offered 3 different choices for sound.
PC SPEAKER tandy 3-voice and adlib
Ok, which one of these are used in this video/version?
Niklas Pihl
adlib
@Luigi84289
?????? Then i must played another Version ^^ i beat it as Kid.
The first time you jumped I though he let out a huge fart!
dosbox works magic thats how my NES vids are so nice and high quality read the readme to find out after you install it
is so adlib sound!!!
4:21-4:23: Donatello was doing the Pete Townshend knee slide to April. XD
The NES version is probably less sh!tty.
What were the system requirement for this abomination?
@sonofMegaAlexandros 1990
HOLY SHIT I REMEMBER THIS

This was really fun to watch. The turtles looks in this version like giant sperms with diapers imo
holy chit makes the nes version l@@k like a cadillac
Wow, that is terrible. The NES version is far superior.
I can't believe that in this game, if you get hit by those vehicles, you don't die straight away. In the NES version, YOU DO! AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY DESTROY THEM AS ONE TURTLE! WTF?
Well if NES version sucked, then this one is just plain SHIT!
woooooow this sucks big time

WTF is this..the nes version was way better then this crap..for a pc game this looks worse than a nes game...
