Did my BA training in the seventies!! Burning pallets in the basement. A truly irrespirable atmosphere! In the middle of a particularly gruelling exercise our instructor came up behind me and turned my BA set off!! I tried to turn it back on ,he slapped my hand away. Had to unplug my mask and connect to my partners "second man attachment". Health and Safety would have a fit today!!! I learned an important lesson. Go figure!!
+elis jones I've got a practical test with Beds F&R in Jan and that's got a bleep test in it so maybe only certain brigades? Think we do the Chester test at a later date after interviews
Certain parts are timed what are the passing times and are all tests consecutive and to be done in a set time or do you stop for an amount of time between tests. I want to try and test myself to see if I would pass so would like to know more.
4:53 I would have killed to do a mayday crawl like this. Ours went through wood boxes filled with stuff like drywall, wire, concrete, and insulation. Also we had to do this with full SCBA and on air to pass our national test.
I'm th8nking of applying to join the fire service. Any tips on how to achieve this level of fitness. I think of myself to be fit but want to be fitter so I can have a chance.

Well done to everybody who has done the test
Imaltman how many American fire fighters die per year compared British fire fighter

Get your self up to military standard of fitness
+Dawson667 thanks for that. I'll start soon as
Dinah Soares the key is the ladder lift strength and General cardio fitness
audio for the equipment carry section is out of sync
its out os sync for all of the video mate
So you can't do the job if you suffer with bad back some times
Anyone fancy a ice cold beer!!!
There's also a bleep test.
+MrKingOthman Bleep test is in the Fitness test. Not the Physical. :)
This is good that they are using real world examples to test their cadets, however the american fire service is much more rigorous than this.
ImaITman like cutting holes in a roof whilst standing in the space that's about to be created?
This is a series of tests to go on the course not to qualify. However, I agree nothing really challenging.

Rich 115kg is not normal trust me
It used to be 12 Stone - that's 76 kgs.
Just done one of these sets of tests..
The only tip I can give is get into cross fit it will help more than any other type of training
Do the hoses in your firetruck have the zip ties around them like in the video?
No the ones in the video are purely for training!
I’ve wanted to be a fireman my whole life
