And not only Atsushi, same goes for Yosano. She had no place in this world besides the battlefield, until Fukuzawa took her to the Agency. Of course this can also be said about Ranpo and the others. Idk I feel like the "Stray Dogs" are exactly that - wandering, looking for a place to survive and hoping for a better tomorrow
