Thanks for making this video as I've always wanted to see Dawlish myself (Florida, U.S.), but it's sad to see the new bridge knowing they'll probably tear down the old one. Things I wish I could see, thanks again. And I've seen the beauty of the storms hitting the train wall is truly a beautiful thing to see, wish I could see in real life.
Glad you enjoyed it! - Also there's a closer look at the bridge & more of Dawlish in my Christmas eve Special - If you haven't seen it already that is - ruclips.net/video/qmvSq7fyPP0/видео.html 👍👍👍
And WE are lucky too! Had Dozens of holidays in Devon and Cornwall from age 5-55....and finally moved here from Portsmouth age 60! Absolutely 💯 LOVE it! Feel blessed every day
Excellent video Bill, you showed off all of Dawlishes major new building work of the sea wall, there's plenty to see. Great old pictures and a nice little visit to Coryton cove and beach with cafe, thanks Bill.
Nice one Bill. However, with all of the Millions that went into building the wall etc. I would have thought a coat of paint on the railway bridge would have not gone a miss lol . Thank very much.
I live in Dawlish and twice a week commute to Newton Abbot on this line. I often think how lucky I am in comparison to others who have to endure awkward and dull journeys to work. I agree about the bridge and hope they spruce up the station itself
I always remember Dawlish station for Pollard's ice cream hut on the beach side. I remember going to Dawlish on the train with my brother and cousins. We couldn't open the door and nearly ended up in Exeter. Great video.
Excellent video, you crammed so much into 25mins . I hope to nip down to Teignmouth next week and hoping to cheak out Dawlish. I know exactly what I want to do thanks to you. I may even try the loop you did. Great video on the trains too, and seeing the rock fall tunnel. 👍
I know, bless it... I'm no big fan of seagulls, but I felt for it there... Dutifully sat on its nest, in amongst all the building work, in that heat... Just trying to bring its children into the world 👍
Lovely to see Dawlish. We stayed at the 'Haunted house' a couple of times, and many happy times at what was Gaycourt Flats next door over the years. Nostaglia !!!!!
i heard the horn at spray point. dawlish looks really good thank you and the bridge in the station is open now, im looking forwerd on filming on that new bridge and seeing the new area of the sea by the 2 bridges. i liked the then and nows i never known it was a 2 way road before. sorry to hear your phone gets too hot but it was a really good video. see you tomorrow afternoon dawlish lol
The railings are high to prevent people getting on the track. The "spooky house" was a shabby b&b & is planned to be turned into apartments. Coastguard Cottages are still there. They demolished thebold boathouse.
Cool - As I say, I really don't know all that much about Dawlish - I'm just saying what I have heard other people say - Accuracy of all my vids are indeed questionable 👍👍👍
Thanks for the memories of me staying in dawlish in the 1990's and early 2000's that seawall has certainly changed lots and yes I remember when the cafe was still open as u came out of station on the left thanks Bill a lovely walk and your phone survived the heat 🔥 thank goodness 👍🙂
Yes, I'd like to get away from Teignmouth more often, but its arranging cover for my mother that is the issue - That said, I'm hoping to get to Dawlish Warren next week in the car 👍

Well done,
Cheers Thanks - Seems to have been a popular video :)
Goodness, you are so lucky to be able to live and visit a part of the country that is still culturally English and nice. All looking good down there.
Yes, I am aware of that, & consider myself very lucky to have been born here, & thus have my roots 👍

Good point! But are we sure they are keeping it? I mean, with the new fancy bridge being installed ?

Yes, they are to be fair - Quite a step up onto the trains 👍
