This worked flawlessly on my 2015 F150 Lariat without Navigation. Downloaded the sync update, navipatch and followed step by step. The only thing that wasn't mentioned was the need for an extended license in ForScan. I needed that to change the code in my F150. Thankfully forscan has a free trial for an extended license. Getting the code took about an hour. Then once I had that, rewrote the code, reset sync and it was simple. Plugged the SD card and within minutes had navigation! Great video!

Soooooo I just found some videos on how to upgrade from Sync 2 to 3, and ended up buying a Sync 3 system a few days ago. It is coming from Hong Kong, wish I would have found your site sooner, as it would probably be here quicker since I am in So Cal right now. It made it to the states within two days of ordering it, but its DHL, I am hoping it will be here by Sunday so I can install it before I go back home. Then I came across your video to add Nav to the Sync 2. So now I purchased an SD Card and waiting for it to come, hopefully tomorrow. So now I am going to add Nav to a system I plan on switching out in a few days lol. I mostly want the Sync 3 for the CarPlay and now thanks to your videos, I am considering jailbreaking it. Looking forward to trying this. I have a 2013 MKZ and and my FCIM was not working properly. Cooled seats weren't turning on and other random issues. DTC's that wouldn't clear. I ordered another and got it in. Turned on the cooled seats and yay, they're working, no Nav though. From the factory my system had it optioned on. I was shooting there was a way to get this one. Im pumped to give this a shot...

I did the SYNC 1 to 2 update everything was working, but the GPS at the moment enabled and without geolocation, apparently my Ford Focus MK3.5 SE 2015 car does not have Gpsm if a different antenna, if I make the module change is it necessary to adjust any parameters at the APIM level? Hey. I just watched your video and I am really looking to try it myself as I have been wanting to have nav on my Sync 2. I have a question though, is the map worldwide because I am from the Philippines and I am not honestly sure whether the maps are worldwide. Another thing is, can I use my SYNC 2 head unit to connect an aftermarket TPMS? The ones with a usb connecter for the head unit. I used to use the ones with their own small screen with a solar panel but the screen didn't last so I'm looking to change them with the ones with usb connector/receiver so I would just use my SYNC 2 screen.

I followed the instructions on Sync2 in my F150, and all seemed to go well until the end. The display said, "Insert Nav SD Card". I did, but it did not recognize the card ( it did nothing at all). Any suggestions?

Some Ford models have 2 screen in the instrument panel. Is it possible to increase the functionality level of the right panel? It's useless with the information it has by default.

hi Brian, great video,clear instructions, but when i got to inserting the nav sd card, it wouldnt even read it. i downloaded and tried to install the EA5T-14F657-AG.cab files to my sync, but it got 2 seconds in and an error message popped up saying "the installation has run out of space or does bot work with this version" I had already updatd sync 2 to version 3.10. Im so close, need a little help getting over the finish line.
So I am very late to the party on this upgrade. I have done everything to the dotting of the "i" and crossing of the "t" but I can not get it to work. Everything changed over like it is supposed to but nothing happens when I insert the SD card. I also noticed when looking that there doesn't appear to be a version of the NAVAPP on my system. Hello! I have done everything in order, i had 3,10 on my c-max 2015 already installed, i changed that one number in forscan and then the letters on the top changed to navigation. I have installed the png patch and applyed it, it said navigation on. Then i have reseted sync and after it loaded i put the F10 europe navigation in sd slot. It says insert navigation card and that is it, nothing is loading. Card is not faulty, i have tried to put it in friend's focus 2015 and it is working flawlessly. Do you have any idea what i am doing wrong? I dont understand..thank you
Same problem here we may need to get the gpsm antenna and connect that to the APIM module and run it underneath the steering wheel / gauge cluster housing and then maybe it will activate it?
Could use some insight please. FORScan, second digit set to "4", all software loaded successfully, reset the system however, the system did not change to navigation. Still showing "information". Any ideas?
My car is a 2015 Ford Edge Titanium and I updated to 3.10, I enabled Navigation with Forscan and changed the wallpaper. I have tried The A14 and the A-13 map SD cards, purchased from Amazon, but they didn't work, I still get insert map card. What else can I do? I also performed a master reset, several times.
What are the improvements in version 3.10? Nobody seems to mention what they are other than making it so the updated navigation can work. But the Ford navigation in Sync2 is so crappy and hard to set your destination compared to Google maps on the phone, that I can't understand why anyone would even use it.

I'm working on installing nav in my 2013 Focus st with sync 2. My car is updated to 3.10.16180.ea.0_product. Ive changed the number in forscan and now when i insert my nav sd it's not readying. Is there something that I did wrong or do you think maybe i have a bad sd slot?

Hi Bro. when I enabled the Navigation , I did not go to APIM module configuration (As built ) to change the digit. I just went to APIM module configuration > Navigation System > then enabled it. I found this way is much eisier than changing the digits.
You can for sure do it that way and it's honestly easier... the thing is all the profiles I have for FORScan are for vehicles with Sync 3 so I wouldn't have the right menu in there 😅
No, sync 3 needs a different module since modules only have enough storage on them for their version. Non nav has 8gb and nav (non-eu) has 32gb, Euro nav has 64gb
I don't expect anyone to answer all questions or even most, but if many of the people that followed your instructions find it does not work the least you can do is answer "some" questions if you want us to subscribe!
I don't really deal with Sync 2 so I don't know what to tell the folks who it didn't work for other than upgrade to Sync 3. Could be any number of issues from APIM failure, Map Card issues or a plethora of other issues. This is the method to do it, if it doesn't work - not much I can say or do to help you out, sorry.
@@NaviUpgrade Ok, Here is what I found I was doing wrong, the .png file, I was not going back into the system and "then" tapping it! though you had it in the video, it was not clear ( atleast not to me) what screen you were on and how to get there! I went back to the car found that screen and it did in fact as you said asked for the SD card. I'm waiting for mine from Amazon and will give it a go when it arrives. Sorry for the misunderstanding but it would benefit some of us to see every screen, how you got there and clearly show what is going on. Again, Thank you!
I decided to compare 3.10 update from link in description with what ford provided me and there is only one file difference. EA5T-14F657-AG is not included in Ford's download. Is this necessary for navigation?
I honestly have no dang idea. I don't know that much about Sync 2 since I mainly deal with Sync 3. Just put this video out to help folks the best I can, but beyond the video this is all I know 🙃
Not sure if you can help? But I connected obd2 connector with forscan and followed instructions but the screen where you change the number 4 doesn't pop up. Initially forscan said the reader I had wasn't recommended for my 15 mustang but it's a ford Mazda connector that I got from diyreid version upgrade on RUclips. Any help is much appreciated

You need to use obd2. They have a USB one that is cheaper than Bluetooth

Try a different one is my best suggestion. Some of the knock offs have read issues 😔

Hello! I have done everything in order, i had 3,10 on my c-max 2015 already installed, i changed that one number in forscan and then the letters on the top changed to navigation. I have installed the png patch and applyed it, it said navigation on. Then i have reseted sync and after it loaded i put the F10 europe navigation in sd slot. It says insert navigation card and that is it, nothing is loading. Card is not faulty, i have tried to put it in friend's focus 2015 and it is working flawlessly. Do you have any idea what i am doing wrong? I dont understand..thank you
Same problem here we may need to get the gpsm antenna and connect that to the APIM module and run it underneath the steering wheel / gauge cluster housing and then maybe it will activate it?

Could use some insight please. FORScan, second digit set to "4", all software loaded successfully, reset the system however, the system did not change to navigation. Still showing "information". Any ideas?

My car is a 2015 Ford Edge Titanium and I updated to 3.10, I enabled Navigation with Forscan and changed the wallpaper. I have tried The A14 and the A-13 map SD cards, purchased from Amazon, but they didn't work, I still get insert map card. What else can I do? I also performed a master reset, several times.
Success! After installing the Sync My Ride update, navigation is now enabled.
mine just says insert nav card? i use my sd card for slots so dont think the slot is shot

What are the improvements in version 3.10? Nobody seems to mention what they are other than making it so the updated navigation can work. But the Ford navigation in Sync2 is so crappy and hard to set your destination compared to Google maps on the phone, that I can't understand why anyone would even use it.

Unless you figure out how to add 24GB more flash storage to the module, that's not gonna happen...
The part where you change the number on the FORScan screen to enable the Nav is different from what's showing on your screen

this sounds so easy, but I'm almost deaf. can you type the instructions so I can follow them in print? I tried upgrading 2 years ago so I have the "insert the maps card" in the upper right corner and the compass has moved but no navi. I don't know what I'm missing. Maybe the sync navi software?

Not that I'm aware of. Then again, I don't own any Mac products so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I'm working on installing nav in my 2013 Focus st with sync 2. My car is updated to 3.10.16180.ea.0_product. Ive changed the number in forscan and now when i insert my nav sd it's not readying. Is there something that I did wrong or do you think maybe i have a bad sd slot?

Every step worked shown in the video except one thing. When prompted to install the NAV SD CARD, nothing happened. My Sync 2 system isn't recognizing the NAV SD Card. Any thoughts what to do from here?
Hi Bro. when I enabled the Navigation , I did not go to APIM module configuration (As built ) to change the digit. I just went to APIM module configuration > Navigation System > then enabled it. I found this way is much eisier than changing the digits.
You can for sure do it that way and it's honestly easier... the thing is all the profiles I have for FORScan are for vehicles with Sync 3 so I wouldn't have the right menu in there 😅

No, sync 3 needs a different module since modules only have enough storage on them for their version. Non nav has 8gb and nav (non-eu) has 32gb, Euro nav has 64gb
I don't expect anyone to answer all questions or even most, but if many of the people that followed your instructions find it does not work the least you can do is answer "some" questions if you want us to subscribe!
I don't really deal with Sync 2 so I don't know what to tell the folks who it didn't work for other than upgrade to Sync 3. Could be any number of issues from APIM failure, Map Card issues or a plethora of other issues. This is the method to do it, if it doesn't work - not much I can say or do to help you out, sorry.

@@NaviUpgrade Ok, Here is what I found I was doing wrong, the .png file, I was not going back into the system and "then" tapping it! though you had it in the video, it was not clear ( atleast not to me) what screen you were on and how to get there! I went back to the car found that screen and it did in fact as you said asked for the SD card. I'm waiting for mine from Amazon and will give it a go when it arrives. Sorry for the misunderstanding but it would benefit some of us to see every screen, how you got there and clearly show what is going on. Again, Thank you!

I decided to compare 3.10 update from link in description with what ford provided me and there is only one file difference. EA5T-14F657-AG is not included in Ford's download. Is this necessary for navigation?

I honestly have no dang idea. I don't know that much about Sync 2 since I mainly deal with Sync 3. Just put this video out to help folks the best I can, but beyond the video this is all I know 🙃

Not sure if you can help? But I connected obd2 connector with forscan and followed instructions but the screen where you change the number 4 doesn't pop up.
Initially forscan said the reader I had wasn't recommended for my 15 mustang but it's a ford Mazda connector that I got from diyreid version upgrade on RUclips.

Could be a module firmware or software thing. Try a master reset on the module first.
