Heli & Spurgeon | Naga Girl Marries an Andhra Boy in Kohima

I am a Telugu speaking Andhra boy who married a Rengma & Mao Naga girl Heli. We married on top of a hill sitting on a swing, the same place where I first felt I wanted to marry this woman when I visited Nagaland for the first time. Our wedding was @rhododendronresort, very close to where the Hornbill is celebrated each year. We wanted to share this as a testament to the beauty of what God can put together and celebrate the beauty of diversity.
The wedding ceremony was conducted in 3 languages - Telugu, Rengma and English. Led by our pastor who was instrumental in bringing us together and it was a dream come true for us that he officiated the wedding. While we took our vows, we were surrounded by friends and family who travelled from different states of India and outside of India, representing and celebrating the beauty of diversity. Thanks to all our friends, family and well wishers who couldn’t be there but prayed for us and sent in their wishes, means a lot to us.
