So in the future, one who has been treated for syphilis infection would need to incorporate a more detailed panel of bloods into their sexual health testing. If you’ve had syphilis for less than 2 years, you can still be infectious for 2 weeks after treatment. As to your second question, I don’t have an answer.

You need to have RPR blood test. This will show that you've had it but cleared it. The other blood test only shows a false positive cos it's the antibodies remain positive

Syphlis is caused by bacteria call treponema pallidum ( it’s not caused by virus) once u get syphlis they will alwys stay positive in your blood test but don’t worry once it’s treated it gone . Unless if you had exposure sexual contact with unprotected one (anal , oral , or vaginal sex) got symptoms then it consider you are reinfected again

the chancre happens few days after unprotected intercourse. Bacteria can't live outdise host, it form a blister and then develope into open sore so that it enters your body.

In any case the syphilis rash isn’t itchy and is on the palms of the hands and soles of feet unlike most other rashes. Syphilis comes in 3 stages. Chancre is usually first and seen in about a third of patients, super infectious but painless ulcer basically, after a few weeks stage 2 occurs which is a rash everywhere, including soles and palms which is not seen in most conditions, this stage can and come again repeatedly, the rash is not itchy, may also see condylomata lata, which almost look like warts where the immune system is fighting the bacteria, then stage 3 which can take several years to present can occur, it’ll present affecting organs and causing Gumma to show on them, will also affect the liver, spinal cord and sometimes the brain, this can cause degeneration mentally and usually in the last stage of stage 3 you see aortitis, this will kill if you haven’t already died from the neurosyphilis mentioned. HIV is very different, it’s a virus, you get it and then you get a cold maybe a few weeks later, this is before an immune response has really mounted, this cold will go and nothing will be seen usually for several years after this whilst the body and HIV battle it out and inevitably HIV wins, crushing the CD4 T cell numbers and making the host extremely vulnerable to infection, the next part depends on what infection gets you first, usually respiratory and inevitably the body fails without its defences due to some pneumonia and then probably sepsis. If treated in good time, Syphilis is easy to treat with Penicillin or Doxycycline or quite a few things tbh, HIV will need a lifetime treatment of antivirals like Tenofovir and Efavirenz amongst other drugs.

So in the future, one who has been treated for syphilis infection would need to incorporate a more detailed panel of bloods into their sexual health testing. This can be carried out in any sexual health clinic. Once the doctor/nurse has been made aware of a previous syphilis infection, this blood test will be performed.

If you’ve had syphilis for less than 2 years, you can still be infectious for 2 weeks after treatment. As to your second question, I don’t have an answer.

You need to have RPR blood test. This will show that you've had it but cleared it. The other blood test only shows a false positive cos it's the antibodies remain positive

went to donate blood and then got a letter from the red cross saying i have syphillis in my blood. while it's unknown to me how i got it (havent been sexually active in a some time) its still a good sign its treatable. the important thing is to check and then get treated

Syphlis is caused by bacteria call treponema pallidum ( it’s not caused by virus) once u get syphlis they will alwys stay positive in your blood test but don’t worry once it’s treated it gone . Unless if you had exposure sexual contact with unprotected one (anal , oral , or vaginal sex) got symptoms then it consider you are reinfected again

Hi there Ben. Syphilis does sometimes have resistance to macrolides, but the first line treatment is usually penicillin, against which no resistance has been reported. I hope this explains things a bit.

the chancre happens few days after unprotected intercourse. Bacteria can't live outdise host, it form a blister and then develope into open sore so that it enters your body.

@@kayseyr5992 man these are just overlaps from a lot of diseases, a million different things will cause lymphadenopathy, headache and rashes. In any case the syphilis rash isn’t itchy and is on the palms of the hands and soles of feet unlike most other rashes. Syphilis comes in 3 stages.
Chancre is usually first and seen in about a third of patients, super infectious but painless ulcer basically, after a few weeks stage 2 occurs which is a rash everywhere, including soles and palms which is not seen in most conditions, this stage can and come again repeatedly, the rash is not itchy, may also see condylomata lata, which almost look like warts where the immune system is fighting the bacteria, then stage 3 which can take several years to present can occur, it’ll present affecting organs and causing Gumma to show on them, will also affect the liver, spinal cord and sometimes the brain, this can cause degeneration mentally and usually in the last stage of stage 3 you see aortitis, this will kill if you haven’t already died from the neurosyphilis mentioned.
HIV is very different, it’s a virus, you get it and then you get a cold maybe a few weeks later, this is before an immune response has really mounted, this cold will go and nothing will be seen usually for several years after this whilst the body and HIV battle it out and inevitably HIV wins, crushing the CD4 T cell numbers and making the host extremely vulnerable to infection, the next part depends on what infection gets you first, usually respiratory and inevitably the body fails without its defences due to some pneumonia and then probably sepsis.
If treated in good time, Syphilis is easy to treat with Penicillin or Doxycycline or quite a few things tbh, HIV will need a lifetime treatment of antivirals like Tenofovir and Efavirenz amongst other drugs.
