I can't believe I'm finally posting this. This video has been in the works since January 2021. I've been working on and off on it since then but I never found the time or motivation to finish it. Until about a month ago, when a couple of my friends were talking about the fact that on March 19th it would be the 10 year anniversary of the pilot and I joked that I could finally finish the Survivor's Guilt video. If "haha, unless" was a video, this would be it.
Survivor's Guilt (archiveofourow...) is one of the most iconic Bellarke fics of all time. It tells the story of Bellamy and Clarke as the last survivors of their people. Now it is not my favourite bellarke fic because How You Stay Alive exists (archiveofourow...) (same author, read all her fics please you will not regret it), but a full, multiple lifetimes AU was waaaay too difficult for my limited AU skills. I also really enjoyed the idea of making a Survivor's Guilt edit because it is so close to canon and it was always the story I imagined they could have had.
In case you're wondering, yes, I thought about making a normal, 4 minute video, as I do with book edits all the time, but well. It spiraled. Go big or go home. I'm really proud of this and whilst I haven't edited Bellarke in years and still absolutely hate the ending of the actual show, it felt so nice revisiting old scenes and reimagining them in a Survivor's Guilt world. If you've been with me since my Bellarke days, this one's for you. I hope you all enjoy it. Happy 10 year anniversary :)

They were supposed to be together and the writers knew that. They just wrote it differently because of what's been going on politically/socially. It ruined the show though. I didn't like the ending either.

Absolutely gorgeous, and SO satisfying. It’s been years since this show broke my heart, but this feels like closure. I’ll be thinking about the aesthetics and music for awhile-you combined them to tell a truly cinematic story. Can’t wait to reread this fic and then come back to this vid to catch things I missed.

i can't believe you posted a video about them, i've been here since the knocking on heaven's door edit, i was obsessed about it! the 100 is all over the place again and its so bittersweet for me, it was my absolute favorite show i used to watch it all the time but after it ended i was never able to watch it again, i still can't believe how the show ended, it makes me so sad and angry every time i think about it, bellamy deserverd so much better just like bellarke 💔 i don't think i will ever get over it, at least i get to see these amazing edits and pretend they had a different ending.
