Do ACA plans cover medical expenses while traveling overseas?
I’m not sure about ACA plans (which vary state to state) but most private medical insurance plans do not. There is a separate category for “Travel Medical Insurance” which you must purchase before going on a trip. Allianz Travel is a good one but there are others. If your company DOES cover medical expenses overseas, generally you must pay the bill first and file a claim directly to your company yourself to be reimbursed.
Health insurance is way more unaffordable than ever before
Yes it is and based on where you live could have over 100 different plan options to choose from.
13, 500 yearly income. 900 a month, no way. I am 64, perhaps I have to wait another year.
Typically at that income based on the state you are in you would qualify for Medicaid? Is that what it shows you?
I don't think you understand how the ACA works. Based on your income you should be on Medicaid. Go to an agent.
The sweet spot to get the maximum subsidy is about $25,000 to $45,000 or so. If you make LESS than $24,000 then the Obamacare folks will say you don't qualify & should go talk to the Medicaid folks. The problem with Medicaid is that they look at ALL of your assets to qualify which unless you are dirt poor you won't. Obamacare only looks at your income ONLY, you could have a million dollars in the bank & still qualify for a subsidy if your "Income" is not too high. The moral of the story is make your taxable income look at least $24,000 or more if you want a subsidy.
Just filled out their application. $1,800 a month premium for $27,500 annual income. No way jose.
The math does not make sense. At 27k of income based on your age the subsidy should cover 80-90% of your premium.
You don’t know what you’re doing or you are lying. There are free advisors that will help you enroll. Go see one of them. At $27000 your cost should be around $50 a month
@@kevint53219I went to the health.gov website and filled everything out. At the end it came up with five plans for Wyoming, all were in the $1,800 a month range and was prompted to pick one. None were affordable so I left the site.
@@URKlewlessI am retiring in January. $5,000 wages in January + 10 months of social security ($21,800) + $400 interest = $27,200.
You also don't understand how the ACA works. Go to an agent for assistance.
