He was my hero growing up. In 1979 (78?) I was a young Lance Corporal stationed at Camp Pendleton. Another Marine and I went to the San Diego Air & Space Museum one weekend. We had the distinct pleasure of meeting him and Pappy Boyington there by chance. Both were very gracious and took the time to speak with us and then went back to laughing and talking about Ba Ba Black Sheep.
When i was a young boy i never miss to watch this western tv series wild wild west😢
I still watch it on Saturday mornings on MeTV .
It was such a great show.
The Wild Wild West (TWWW) was uncermoniously cancelled by CBS when society stipulated that it was deemed "too violent"
During the Golden Age of Television there were 23 Westerns on prime time television and TWWW was one of the best!
The show was a groundbreaker combining the rough and tumble of a Western with the spy gadgetry of Secret Agents ala James Bond.
From the Dagger in the back of his coat, to the Lock Pick in the lapel of his jacket to the Derringer up his sleeve to the explosives in the heels of his Boots, Robert Conrad made James West an icon in television history.
The show's immense popularity is still evident by it being part of a Saturday Morning lineup of Westerns on MeTV that I watch every Saturday.
I'm certainly glad that I bought the 40th Wild Wild West Anniversary DVD Box Set to continue to enjoy West and his sidekick Artemus Gordon portrayed brilliantly by the late Ross Martin battle and thwart the plans of some of the most dangerous foes like Dr. Miguelito Loveless masterfully player by the late diminutive Michael Dunn.
Conrad's legacy will continue to live on as James West!
FOR THE LONGEST TIME I DIDN'T KNOW HE PASSED AWAY. HE WAS EVERYWHERE AND A HOUSEHOLD NAME. VERY SAD. MISS YOU MR. CONRAD. 😢💔.
Robert Conrad passed away right before the pandemic in 2020. Hard to believe it's been over 4 years he left us.
I didnt know he passed away until today, I just happened to think of that show wild wild west, and started looking stuff up about Robert Conrad and Ross Martin. I didn't even know his counterpart Ross Martin died in 1981 at the age of 61.
He started off as a stuntman.
A great tribute video to a great actor - thanks for compiling and uploading. RIP Robert, thanks for the many happy memories., and, characters..
Always one of my favorite actors. The Wild Wild West was so fun to watch, back in the day. Conrad always seemed to me to be a real class act. RIP, you fine actor and consummate entertainer.
The Wild West series is now on Prime.
I watched the Wild Wild West too as a kid, and thought it was fun. But as an adult, when I analyzed the show, I realized that James West was no hero, or cut from heroic cloth. He was, in effect, a government assassin who killed whomever the President wanted killed. Or whomever the president--or he himself--simply did not like.
In the four years that the series ran on air, James West must have killed, directly or indirectly, at least a thousand people--that's 250 human beings per year. But unlike his SS counterparts in World War II--the einzatzgruppen--James West never got tired of killing, never needed psychological counseling owing to the stress of constantly killing, and never had a nervous breakdown or drank himself into a stupor to dull the pain of killing constantly.
Since James West, the super agent, never suffered any psychological damage from his killings--the effects of which would leave a normal human being severely traumatized--suggests that James West was a psychopathic killer, not an iconic hero fighting for good. Or to use present-day terminology: James West was a serial killer.
..big fan of Wild Wild West. It was rebroadcast at 10pm EST here and even though a workday I never missed an episode. Conrad was a stud and a pretty darn good actor. Seeing his last photos hit me pretty hard…I’m 76 and those photos served as a reminder of how quickly we get here…sad
Fell in love with Robert Conrad the first time I laid eyes on him back in 1976.
I can beat you there - I feel in love with his cheeky smile when I first saw him on 77 Sunset Strip in 1958. I never saw him in anything I didn't enjoy. Great actor with a great presence.
Muy buena serie y con un gran protagonista ❤
You didm't mention his guest appearance in Columbo. Many thanks for posting. Very well done.
On Columbo he was sensational
So handsome and was a great actor.
Wild Wild West is shown every Saturday morning on MeTV .
An Icon..RIP
I really liked his short lived series in the 80s with his sons called High Mountain Rangers. I was a hormonal teenage girl who thought all three of those Conrads were so handsome with those blue eyes
Out of the body and in the spirit with God.
Thanks,Robert Conrad.
Along with Kevin Burnett, the young man he killed when he was drinking and driving.
@@winstonwhiteside9525 That's God's business.
🎉@@peteyspaletas2023But Robert Conrad bears no responsibility for his actions? He made a deliberate choice to drive with a blood-alcohol level 3 times the legal limit when he could have easily gotten a ride back home from one of his friends (a designated driver).
Maybe he began believing his own hype: James West, the super agent who's indestructible and can do whatever he wants.
From 1959-63 he played Tom Lopoka on Hawaiian Eye with Anthony Eisley, Connie Stevens and Poncie Ponce.
He was so handsome an a good actor. Loved him on Bewitched 🥰😍🤗 RIP Robert
I think you are thinking of Dick York of Bewitched not Robert Conrad.
As a young boy I was always impressed how James West always got the cute girls! Regardless, I loved the Wild Wild West!
Glad 2 here he’s no longer suffering.
Even as he aged that good looks of his stayed.
I'm surprised you didn't mention his popular Weekend Radio Show.
I heard he had a temper and had lots of fights.. don't know if thats true you know how folks gossip..his life was long and it is sad how his life ended. But we all get old..i still will watch things he is on he was a good Actor..
Pride goeth before a fall.
Newsflash, yes we get old and we all die! Better know Jesus!
He was a great actor. Sadie got in trouble . Sorry had to die I thought he was a really really good actor
I didn't know that he was in a car accident and alcohol had something to do with that accident a young man lost his life confined to his house does seem like one law system for one group of people and another for the rest of us..
He worked for UNIT? I wonder which Doctor that he most encountered?
