You guys made the correct move not going with their 40” cutout. I purchased a rack for my 3rd Gen and the Baja designs s8 40” light bar didn’t fit on the rack, the brackets are too narrow and the 40” s8 is too wide. I reached out to victory 4x4 and no word back in over a week now.
How do you guys like the roof rack? I'm looking at getting one for my FJ
We’ve been using it for 2 months now and so far so good. John climbs up and step on top of our RTT when we’re packing out and it’s holding up. It’s also super easy to assemble. There’s also no wind noise when we’re driving. The only thing we wish it was different was the screws. They’re silver and not black. Haha but that’s just being picky now.
@@yvonneandjohn3979 thank you for the response. I really need kne for my FJ but they are pricey. Was trying to get the OEM but hard to find one.

In the Victory install video it shows you have to remove the gutter trim from the roof and cut some of it back like 4 inches. Did you not do this or just skip that step in the video?
Hey Craig! We actually didn’t have to cut the gutter trim from the roof of our 4Runner. The roof rack fit into where the stock roof rack were perfectly. We have a 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5.
@@yvonneandjohn3979 I did have to cut mine, it's in the instructions for the 5th Gen on the Victory web site. I was intimidated at first but was easy once you realize only the very front of the trim is actually attached. I was able to trim and re-glue the front trim with some silicone, once I understood it. It's not easy taking apart a 3 month old vechicle but looks great now. Thanks for the reply
Does it have a lot of wind noise on freeway?
The rack did not have noise on the road but our rooftop tent did.

Victory 4x4 sucks with instructions. And their videos are usually made on a modified vehicle so it’s never the same as stock. I had a blast trying to figure out the skid plate I ordered from them this summer. Feels like they assume everyone is familiar with these installations. And we’re not always.
Agreed! They don’t even try to make it convenient. Haha Also, they charge extra for black screws. The silver screws stands out too much and makes it obvious that generic Allen key screws are the only thing holding this thing together.
Most if not all victory 4x4 products have a PDF on the product page on the website. They also tell you its there in the email once it ships. Don’t trash a company that’s actually pretty thorough because you couldn’t read the whole product description

Hey! Your sunroof will not be affected by it. Will have some bars hovering over it though.
No paper assembly instructions? All screws, bolts in one bag? Looks like a Chinese Quality control?

Hey! No paper instructions. It came with a QR code of a RUclips video which was pretty helpful. Honestly the quality is pretty good, but we haven’t driven the car in the highway yet. We’ll get back to you once we do. But note that the bolts that it came with are all allen key head and they’re silver which we weren’t so happy about.

@@mrdallas9729 the roof rack alone the noise is pretty much non existent but with our rooftop tent and awning on the side, there’s definitely a pretty loud wind noise especially on the highway.
