- In this part I would like to talk about some background theory and explain briefly, how the MCE-Adapter is implemented.

Great video and project, also thanks for the shoutout and kind words!
Very informative video, and very well documented source and board! I have very limited experience with GALs, this would be a great starter project!
Absolutely awesome project! Thank you so much for sharing all the information and the source/pcb files. Going to place an order at jlcpcb and lcsc very soon ;-)
Thank you for the contribution ;) Don't you want to wait for the part, where I show how it works and talk a bit about the issues? :D
@@necro_ware For sure, it's still good enough for me ;-) However, also looking forward to part 3!
@@ranger81de haha :)
I am speechless with this... I suspect that we will see a build of an affordable Gravis clone coming soon :D... You rock my friend!!! Each video is like a little surprise box...
Thank you Jorge! I have so many projects running simultaneously, I don't know, if I have enough time to make a video about each one :D But I hope, more interesting stuff will follow....
Will buy from this guy if he opens an online store
I would like to have a request. I know that on some xt/at machines that was possible to put 2 Isa graphics cards, even with mode coluns 80 being one in color and other in black and white (probably mono cga and color ega). Do you plan to do a video on having retro PCs with 2 cards? In the past I only heard something alike while programming let’s say in turbo c and seeing the results on the other monitor.
Great project! Thank you. You rock! I am curious, however... What might be your thoughts be on a project that went the other way around; an analog VGA mode input to a fixed 18kHz MDA output that could drive vintage monochrome displays? The color signals would need to be digitized & level-converted, but is there an elegant way to handle the variable H-sync freq of the VGA?
Great vid, and great expansion on what TheRasteri did. Can the adaptor take a composite sync cga signal? Like the on the Amstrad PC1512?
Hi, thank you! I didn't test it yet, but I'm pretty sure, that it should work. The adapter can loop sync signal through, without changing it and take over only the RGB digital to analog conversion. So, if you switch JP4 to loop through, you should see a picture on GBS-8200, or any device which supports analog RGBS. However, this device can not split composite sync back to HV sync. Therefore additional circuitry would be required.
Thank you very much for this information. I bought a 8200 to get RGB from a 1984 BBC computer onto a VGA LCD screen. The BBC has TTL RGB as you described but I think it has Sync on green. Will your circuit board decode the sync as well as change TTL to Analogue as well?
Too long? No way! Way too short, in fact.... :)
Hehe, it would be too long, if I'd show the other stuff as well.... :)
nice project and good information, but i was hoping you would have shown it in action
I'll publish it in the next days, sorry for delay, but it costs a lot of time to prepare the videos :D
@@necro_ware ok i didnt know you had more planned, sorry if i missed that somewhere. It wasnt meant to pressure you, but just anticipating the money shot after all the buildup ;-)
@@Pickle136 I see, it's coming ASAP ;)
Just by Sony digital scan converter 1080i and I promise you you will impressed
Would this work with a Commodore128 RGBI output?
I think so. I don't have a C128, but as far as I know, it has a normal CGA (digital RGBI) output.
@@necro_ware thnx 👍
Hmm. Curious to see how this would work with a 15KHz monitor and a Commodore 128, which also uses CGA.
I don't have any, so I don't know. If C128 has real CGA output with digital RGBI, then it should work just fine.
@@necro_ware I guess I'll need to build one :-D
@@CheshireNoir Then, I'd be interested to know about the outcome ;)
@@necro_ware I can confirm it works fine with my 15KHz monitor with a C128. Awesome project!
@@CheshireNoir Glad to read that. Thank you for the feedback.
All the sce-magics 🤣🤣🤣
May I ask you what is sce?
@@necro_ware scematics....sce----magics
@@hans429 Ok, now I'm really confused :)
@Necroware Stop beeing con farted.. scematics are magic...sce-magics
@@hans429 It's funny, now I had to look up in the dictionary what it means to be "con farted" :D
Do you have Cyrillic HERCULES card? Can you share character ROM dump?
