Honestly I’m honestly not surprised that Dudley doesn’t like magic. He had some pretty traumatic magical experiences. 1: gets a tail 2: magic ruins an important thing for his dad 3: Marge has to be traumatizing, magic again hurts someone he cares about 4: he’s hurt by magic (the toffees from the twins) 5: dementors…need I say more? 6: Dumbledore uses magic to annoy him (not bad, but I need an example lol) 7: has to literally upend his entire life because of magic.

YET, later in the 7th book you realize that it was Snape & Lily talking about it. 15:24 Also, what else is significant in that chapter is it's the first time you see Petunia actually standing up to Vernon & you see a hint of the suppressed twisted love she has for her Sister & Harry. Additionally, what is even crazier about the fake awards ceremony is the area was going through a Drought with water restrictions as well. So the fact they fell for it is even funnier. What else is crazy is the Advance Guard used some Magic at the Dursley's yet it didn't seem to affect the Trace on Harry or Alert the Ministry in any way.

So it's very impactful realizing everything about Snape at the end and how much Snape saved Harry. Even before he begged Voldy to spare Lily, if Petunia hadn't overheard that conversation and understood how dangerous Dementors are she may have still supported Vernon kicking Harry out. But cause she does care about Harry in her Twisted way and understands the danger she didn't. So Snape has saved Harry more times then Harry realizes.

I know they say the neighbor was watering at night or something so I think we are meant to gleam Vernon is also cheating but not as well. As for the trace, Voldemort is confirmed back. New Minister of magic. New ministry in many ways. I'm sure it showed up, but I presume they were aware Harry would be moved at some point and then just put 2 and 2 together. They had larger fish to fry in hunting down and fighting death eater than to try and enforce underage wizardry. That was my perspective anyway.

As Harry is 14 he isn't capable of modifying his memories on his own and it was still too new for someone else to tamper with it. would that change fudges mind if so how would the ministry helping the order change Voldemort's plans?

@@TheLostCorner Not really sometimes the postcode goes last, sometimes the United Kingdom part is left out or goes on the last line with the county you're in.
@@Martyn_Wolf Obviously if I'm sending a letter within the UK I won't put UK on the last line -- at which point yes, the postcode comes last. Unless I want to end the address "United Kingdom, Earth, Solar System, The Universe", I guess.
