well... i mean i voted True on the Rubik's cube because he explained, correctly, the general methodology to solve the cube, which i figured only a person who has learned the turning-algorithms might know/remember. You DO solve one face, then the tangential row, then the middle row, then the 'top' row and, yes, the last face is basically solved by solving the other faces (even though you technically solve the last two faces simultaneously). He may not have been specifically correct, but he was systematically correct on the procedure. So with that in mind, his team's reactions sold it as true.
I came here to say that, as brilliant as Lee can be, I always kind of deflate spiritually every time he gets asked to tell a story, because his cards are almost always so batshit crazy that everyone knows they're not true, and their function is just to make us laugh. And then this compilation starts off with the mime story, which is amazing.
I do like that Lee commits the hell out of every Lie, no matter how impossible, and that's what makes it enjoyable for me - the miming story, the silent retreat story, the bagpipes! Sometimes I don't care anymore if the story of true or false, I just want to see Lee play it out
They give Lee such ridiculous stories. I was 100% certain he had a duplicate Rubik's cube under the desk and would swap them to make it appear he had solved it. It was even better when he didn't.
I love that they do that. I think it makes Lee shine as a comedian and actor. As well as providing a perfect opportunity to show off his wit and intelligence. I think you might be taking the game part of this show a _little_ too seriously. I'm going to guess that you play along while watching. I get why that might be a bit annoying, because it's always obvious that he's lying. But this is Lee at his best. It's just entertaining to watch him try to make a believable story out of a scenario that no sane person would believe. That's ignoring the fact that this show has been on for so long that true stories are stuff like "yesterday I had beans on toast for tea for the first time in 18 years".
yea, but with Lee, you never know. Lee loves tormenting David, so they may have planned to do just that, only at the end, He just brought up the unsolved one and went for the joke and points. Could actually be a running gag, once a season they could have Lee claim he 'really' learned to solve it during the break, but he just never solves it.
Some people complain that lee seems to get most of the completely unbelievable ones but I’m glad he does. I don’t think anyone else would give it such a good go and make it so funny.

"But why? You're such an un-irritating man!" That's one of those lines that causes me to seek out a clip just to hear it. Lee's mime wouldn't have been half as funny without Rob's narration.
That would have been hilarious, but the premise of the show is that the person reading the card has no idea what's on the card. So they have to be very quick witted either way to either make the other team believe their story or find a way to bluff them into thinking you're lying. Rob, David and Lee work well off each other which makes the guests relaxed and the show so enjoyable

Well a stool is 6 pounds or so. How much is 6 pounds of a cow worth? But 'worth' may not monetary cost either. Having a stool makes getting milk every day much easier but 6 pounds of beef will only feed you for a few days.
The highest value in $/pound I could find for cattle at livestock auctions currently happening in British Columbia is $1.25/lb. The 6 pounds of stool (that toddwittie4421 estimates above) would be worth $7.50 if made of cow. Assuming Lee didn't already have a milking stool he'd be paying current value for his stool, although it seems the stool's cost was included with the price of Lee's cow).
