In May, Norway voted to separate church and state. Norway now no longer has a state religion and the government can no longer decide who to appoint as bishops.

    With that rant, the statement:
"Do not teach them. Force them to ask questions."
    Should make more sense.

I stand corrected on your first point, I was misremembering something I read, it's true that Norway doesn't have an official state religion anymore. But it doesn't have complete separation of church and state, the tax benefiting churches still remains, there is still an office of the church in the government (as far as I am aware), legally the church is not a separate entity, etc. It's a very good step, a step in the right direction, but Norway isn't there yet.

In childhood religious parents make the mistake of suppressing their children's curiosity which can cause a lot of frustration and anger for children. Science is about finding answers to questions and answering those questions has been mostly beneficial for society.

    (2) ... is the way that we are able to react automatically with things we have learned. This ability to solve problems automatically, or "accidentally" without thinking of it, cannot exist at the conscious level. So it ends up in the form of a projection. (faith)
This removes "conscious" control. We all experience this phenomena in (perhaps) our "first answer" in tests. Second guesses tend to be probably less accurate.

< Dawkins. Your autobiog. Sod the technical stuff - you already wrote it. How about writing about:
    - Going to Oxford
    - Christmas Lectures
    - Getting published for the first time
    - The famous people you met. Don't hold back on slagging off Bill O'Reilly and your opinion of Hitchens.
    - The places you have been.
    - The attention you have had from girls because of your outspoken approach.
I am looking forward to reading the biog.

Congratulations are in order, but not because they have separated church and state, they still have a fair way to go before achieving that.
    Go Norway!

    (1) Unfortunately, education of any academic is not as likely to succeed in rehabilitating the the theistic mental construct.
As a byproduct to human learning, the variables required for consideration have no "cap" as far as when to stop thinking about something and be content with "i don't know"
The academic doesn't need to be taught.
A new pattern of problem solving needs to be imprinted.
Human intuition or automatic thought processes (resulting from experience)

Just to clarify, do you mean you would ban religion beeing taught from a bias perspective as factual?, or any of it at all?. Because personally i think teachings of what people believe in itself isn't damaging aslong as many different beliefs are taught together, including an atheist viewpoint. Althou indoctrination is child abuse i wouldn't remove the rights of parents to teach their beliefs to their children in order to remove the psychological virus of religious dogma.
