    Paul, thanks for sticking up for both languages in this country....I don't speak french but respect the heritage of the french cultural and more importantly I support our charter hands down....small thing to point out but I think that shows the kind of person you really are....cheers...Jim

      Thanks Jim. I got a special place in my heart for the people of Quebec. I worked with them for many years and they were great to work with but the biggest reason was when I was 13 my mom passed away and my brother in law who is from Quebec and my sister took me in and raised me and I never forgot it. Happy Canada Day my friend.

    Howdy Paul: Timely video as my ZD221 is at 15 hrs and I am going to be sharpening blades, changing the oil etc. My deck does the same thing in the wet so I clean it every time I cut. It had a small hydraulic leak at the lift cylinder fittings. I tightened them up and no more leak. It does not want to lift the deck to the lock position at idle only when it is revved up, problem or just the way the pump works otherwise I love it. Jeanette is improving everyday and she was wondering perhaps you guys had gone on vacation since there was no new videos but we can see you have been busy and sick to boot ! 32C today. I agree with you and your son about texting and driving. Big problem for sure. Vehicles turning left and not yielding to oncoming traffic especially bikes is the number one cause or was involving injuries or death. I am very leary of this so you be safe out there. Tks for the video. I also have a parts/service/owners manual and will be ordering the jack for the front. Have a great day to you both.

      Hey Brian. Great to hear Jeanette is getting better. hearing that made our day my friend. Happy Canada Day to you all. You might want to find out why you need to up the RPM's on your ZTR to lift the deck. Mine will do it at idle and it rises super fast. Glad you got the small leak taken care of. There's always an issue or two with a new machine. We didn't go on vacation, we just got bogged down with work in the shop and work around the property. Even today we are doing work around the property. As they say "No rest for the wicked" lol. Glad you got the manuals. Your a smart guy ;)Have a great day friends.

      Thanks my buddy. Between work and property repairs and improvements we don't stop much but we enjoy it and we try to do things the right way. I hate having a mess around. Our business is actually cleaner than most private properties. Thanks for watching and commenting. Back to work for me lol.

    Hi Paul nice video. I have a Gravely pro turn 152 that is commercial grade also love it. It has two fuel tanks, i think right now has 167 hours on it. At 100 hours changed out the hydraulic fluid and filter that company recommends. Knock on wood i haven't had to change belts BUT it goes through the blades like crazy because of the sandy soil here. I own 3 sets of blades. I also live on 5 acres of land so every time i finish mowing i raise up the deck pull the blades and clean the underside then put on resharpened blades. Which only takes under 10 minutes. I'm really enjoying all your old video's so far.

      Wow that's some soil you have there. Sounds like a nice machine too. We've had our ZTR since 2009 and to date only has 43 hours on it but it's a big time saver for me. Our video productions n and equipment was a little simpler back then.

    Enjoyed your video. I use a grasshopper out front deck with a kubota 29hp diesel engine. I love the push button tilt up deck which allows me to clean it after every mowing. They are well built machines and ztr really makes mowing fun and faster.

    My zg222 is built like a tank and will eat some grass but has terrible traction on hills. Its ok going up hill but if you're going down hill and decide to back up or turnaround midway its a struggle. If theres any moisture on the grass, you gotta just ride it on down to the bottom or risk sliding and digging a rut. Even going side ways you have to be careful b/c the back end will slide. Even on slight inclines. But on flat ground, its a beast.

    Paul, YOUR ALIVE!! Glad to see another video. I definitely am glad to see another video, I was thinking about sending you a e-mail checking on things but I figured you had probably been busy in the shop and haven't had time to make a video. I totally agree with you on how much grass gets built up under those mowers. Mine is the same exact way. I don't know if you have seen my mowing video I did or not but that mower I have does not like wet grass at all. There are some times where it is so long when I finally get to do it that I don't want to do it. Matter a fact my back yard is very long right now I have to cut it later so I will try to do a video but we will see. And just yesterday my father and I were out towing as usually lol. And we were coming up to Mike's and there were lights everywhere up there. So we figured it was an accident. We go closer and saw one car sitting in the road all smashed. We had no clue what she had hit. Then we went to turn the corner and saw a guy laying on the ground probably 30 feet from where it had happened with people all around him. We thought he was walking and had been hit but come to find out he was on a motorcycle and the lady was texting and turned in front of him and hit him sideways and sent him flying until he hit a traffic light and stopped. He did live thank god for that. People don't learn and they are putting more people in harm. A gas attendant at Mike's was riding his motorcycle to the World Trade Center Memorial on September 11th this past year when a tractor trailer crossed the double yellow line and hit him head on/ He unfortunately did not live that one. Every time my dad and I get a call for a motorcycle accident it is just scary. Mike's does not do fatalities but it is still scary to see. So I hope to see more video's soon and with the warm weather stay safe out on the motorcycle.

      Hey Tyler. Thanks for watching friend. Ya that accident I mentioned in the video kinda shook me up. When I went by it was just after happening and I looked at the poor man on the road and told Kathy it didn't look good. He passed away a few hours later. This stuff shakes me to the core especially when it's a bike involved. Thanks for sharing your stories. I always enjoy reading them. You and your dad be careful out there. It's a rough place to be. Keep well.

    I never was too crazy about RUclips but 3 years ago found a guy from Orangeville Ont. that goes by BILLSTMAXX anyway he lives at a cemetery there and builds stuff like trailers, buckets for his endloader and other equipment. So one of your video's came up and now i'm enjoying them!!!!

      Yes I've seen a few of his videos. It's always interesting knowing how viewers find us. Personally I enjoy RUclips. With work and making videos ourselves I don't get a lot of time to watch others on RUclips.

    Try spraying some Fluid Film on the deck. I hear it helps quite a bit in reducing the grass build up. I'm going to give it a try myself during the next service on my Exmark.

    I bought a mower jack from TSC heavy duty one and it's really safe to use. But last year the jack decided to give out, so i called the company and they sent me a new one in 3 days for free and thought boy don't see that happen much.

    Fantastic lots of good tips. If you got time for a tractor question. My B7800 tractor with my 5 ft. Twin blade rotary cutter on might have a problem. I notice the lift arms seem to slowly lower on their own say 1 inch per hour. I could just tighten down the hydraulic lock but my land is very hilly and I'm constantly adjusting the cut level. The tractor is 8 years old and 400 hours. Is this normal or is there something I can tend to. Take care .

    • @7863348
      @7863348  10 лет назад

      Hi Steve. Sound like you got an inner seal issue. Get your service manual out and look at the system or go over to Tractor by Net and post a question on the problem. I'm betting someone there has ran into it. It's not normal my friend.

    Paul, where did you find the orange bumper part of the tow bar? Looks like it's a Kubota part. I see where you retrofitted the tab for the tow ball. I've been looking for one of those so I can tow my small trailer and pickup yard debris.

    Hey Paul. I love your videos! Great Job! I am currently trying to decide between the new z400 series and a zg222z like yours. i will be purchasing new here in NB and it will be used for residential/light commercial use. what are your thoughts on this?

    • @7863348
      @7863348  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks. Y choice would be the ZG222Z. It's all Kubota and a fully commercially built unit. If you get one buy it with the fabricated deck. Last a lifetime.

      Paul & Kathy Short thanks Paul. apparently they are hard to find nowadays. dealers are mostly ordering in the z100 and z700 models. the only ones I have seen similar ti the ZG series are what the city uses ZD units. are these built similarly to the ZD units that the cities use in your opinion?

    What angle are you using for the blades (edge). Is there an angle specified in the manual? Are mulching blades angled differently than regular blades?

    • @7863348
      @7863348  10 лет назад

      Not sure of the angle. They are part of the mulching kit for the ZTR by Kubota. There's a big difference in the blades.

    What does 'dieseling on' I think you said means? Being a junior fire fighter I hear a lot of these texting and driving accidents. Most of them don't end well...

    • @7863348
      @7863348  10 лет назад

      It means the engine still runs after you turn the ignition off for a short period. When it happens it sounds like the engine is a diesel. You keep safe out there.

    Paul,
    You might want to look up a product called Clean Deck. Its a graphite based paint for mower decks. After mowing in wet grass, mud and other crud all summer I have only dust under my 60" deck on the BX25. I even use it in my backhoe bucket to help with wet dirt sticking in the bucket.
