- Omkareshwar is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga.
Its in Madhya Pradesh and the nearest airport is Devi Ahilya bhai airport in Indore. If you are going by train then the nearest railway junction is Indore or Khandwa.
From Indore there are 3 ways to reach Omkareshwar - Cab , Scooty/Bike, Bus ( AC & non-AC )
Cab takes around Rs2500 - Rs3000.
Scooty renting would cost around Rs500-Rs700 , but I do not recommend this option as the highway is 1 way with heavy trucks moving and there are 3 valleys that comes in the way which makes it a bit unsafe for 2 wheeler.
Once you reach Omkareshwar, you should go to Brahmapuri ghat which is just beside the temple and bath in the extremely pure and clean water of river Narmada. There are dress changing options also available in the ghat.
From there go to visit Omkareshwar temple before 4pm so that you can do ( water ) Jal Abhishek of Jyotirlinga. After 4pm Jal abhishek is not allowed. After doing the darshan of Omkareshwar temple, you should visit Mamleshwar temple which is just 500m and you cross the Jhula pool ( bridge) to go to Mamleshwar temple.
Evening you can enjoy boat ride that costs Rs150 per person and enjoy the evening view.
Finally spend the time by watching beautiful Narmada arti and its a night for you.
