All my enthusiasm died for the Witcher when Henry left...not certain I won't watch it eventually but will be a "bored and can't find anything else to do". Sandman has me on the edge of my seat though.
I feel the same. I will go back & rewatch all first three seasons but probably won't bother with season 4. Why they couldn't just leave a good thing alone is beyond me.
Sandman, one Piece, the Boroughs Wednesday, Lincoln lawyer, black mirror, stranger things, are all on my list and why Netflix is always my streaming platform.
@@vinchetti_spaghetti It's not the loss of Cavill, for me, though I am all in on anything Cavill and sweaty Cavill . . . I digress. I just really, really dislike Liam. I'm too poor to be a gamer, but I do really like the books. I hope the series gets better and better, they put a huge amount of work into it.
The one show I am NOT highly anticipating, is The Witcher. Not looking forward to Liam Hemsworth taking on the role. There are so many other better actors they could have picked (even Liam's brother Chris would have been a better choice). Anyway, looking forward to many of the other shows.
Sandman... Excellent. Wednesday... Finally. Black Mirror should be good. The Diplomat was exceptional. Arcane IS the best anime on Netflix, with incredible cinematography. I won't watch The Witcher. I can't stand it when they switch the main actors and IMO, it just won't be as good. Thanks.
The major networks filmed on average 23 episodes a season, and filming upcoming episodes while the season was ongoing. The streaming services on the other hand film 8 to 10 episodes on average and sometimes take over two years to debut a new season. WTF?!
Back in the old days a TV series could cover a full 6 months, and it usually had an additional month summer break. Which meant we were only ever around 3-4 months from a new season starting. But as you say, 6-8 eps every 2 years is stupid long to maintain a wider audience loyalty (or memory).
I absolutely miss the diff Series had 16-23 episodes a year. My husband had never seen Friends. He couldn't believe how many episodes there were. It took us a while to get through it all. Then when you think about how much the actors were making per episode for like the last couple of years 🤯 Then the fact they all make about 20 Million a year for syndication.. We are trying to get through Supernatural. Another good series with plenty of episodes per season X 14 or 15 seasons. I miss the good old days. I know people say the special effects & editing take a long time but come on. Supernatural has really decent special effects and they were able to pull it off without the more current computer advances etc. The show only stopped like 7/8 yrs ago but technology moves really fast. I'd be happy with even 11-15 episodes per year of a good episode but these 6-7 episodes and 1-3 yrs of waiting are getting so damned old. Would like to actually know what the real issue is. Probably $ and Salaries, production costs but still. LOTR: power of the rings is only going to be 7 total. Then another year+ to wait is just disappointing. Then there are always really fantastic, well written, and interesting Series that we all get really excited about and they just cancel them after 1-2 seasons. Example of total disappointment was them cancelling Dead Boy Detectives, Outer Range( huge disappointment), Evil (a whole other level of disappointment with this being cancelled, like epic level), almost human, etc. There are more great shows cancelled due to greed, buy-outs, studio costs, execs wanting more $ or higher rating #'s. The Diplomat & The Lincoln Lawyer are such well written and interesting shows. Thank goodness for them. I am excited for many of the shows in this video but so little info from studios on release dates. It just isn't fun to wait with anticipation for most of these shows anymore. Another well written show is Will Trent. Love that show!
Because the sheer number of series and movies being produced at a time is insanely massive. As an example, Fincher planned MINDHUNTER 3 but ended up working on too many other projects so that one disappeared.
Should have mentioned Territory, which dropped Oct 24th, which stars Anna Torv of Fringe, Mindhunter and The Last Of Us to name a few, it's a great show set in Australia and staring a lot of really great Australian actors. I just watched the whole thing a couple days ago and was glued to my screen the whole time, it has a lot of action to it as well, sure it's not supernatural or scifi, it's more like a modern western, without all the Yeehaw crap we get from American modern shows/movies centered on a cattle ranch. It was filmed on and around a real life cattle ranch in Australia, which is the largest cattle ranch in the world, yes even larger then anything in Texas. You could say while Texas says everything there is big, in Australia everything there is HUGE! Which is true, not just that ranch, but they have some huge spiders, snakes and other creepy crawlies, lol!
The only shows triggering my interest here was the Diplomat and Lincoln Lawyer. The latter I have already seen, and liked a lot - except for the cliffhanger ending. Otherwise it was great. But would have been even better if each season's case had been independent of previous seasons.
I’m still pissed that “ The Brothers Sun” was cancelled after one season, but the upcoming dumpster fire of ‘ The Witcher’ is going to be hauled in. Just nope.
Well, maybe Brother Sun was popular in US, but in other countries, especially the Chinese speaking areas it was just an okay show. The fighting scenes are just fine, not really impressive. The acting of most of the main casts as well as some supporting casts are not up to the standard. Especially the women who played Michelle Yeoh’s mother in Taiwan. She can’t even speak Chinese well. The biggest mistake they have, is to get Michelle Yeoh but seldom if ever let her REALLY fight. It’s like getting Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan on the show and all he is required to do is just walk and talk. They have an Asian gangster story but the story happened mostly in the west coast of USA, not in Taiwan or other Asian cities. To me, the show is alright but if they want people to continue watching it for season 2 they have to work 5 times harder. Just my opinion.
Agreed. They should've known better than to interfere with 'The Witcher' but they just couldn't help themselves. Seems to be the story of Cavill's life. Some know it all always screws up a good thing.
Will not be watching the witcher . He is not a good replacement for Henry. He does not have the charisma or the ability to portray this as originally. It was meant to be. This series is going to die because people that truly enjoy the witcher with henry in it and follow the books can see it coming down the pike
Definitely NOT watching Wednesday since Percy Hynes White is NOT returning ! Will watch Stranger Things!!!!!!!!! Sorry The Witcher is NOT the Witcher ANYMORE without Henry Cavill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
aww no Brook yet in One Piece S2? it's fine, he comes much later in the anime anyway. i'm still excited for it. I was apprehensive and skeptical before it came out but man did they do it right!
It's taking too long for Netflix to get these programs done. Two years is quite a long time to wait. And I'm really getting tired of watching Korean television. If I wanted to watch Korean shows I would move to Korea. I pay good money for this streaming channel and I would expect a lot better.
Expand your horizon a little and include shows from Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Scandinavia, Belgium, Poland, Australia and other parts of Asia than just Korea - South Africa even,, and you will be surprised to how good quality most of it is.
Did you even watch the video or did you just see an opportunity for negativity in the title? There is only one show on this list that is first season. People like you are the best argument for restricting internet use.
@@johnmason6213 Nope. Didn't watch it at all. Tired of Netflix's bullshit. I now always assume a series will get cancelled on a cliffhanger. If it doesn't and it gets a proper ending, ONLY then will I watch a series.
What about the "blue eye samurai"? Why wasn't it on the list? It's right up there, together with Arcane, the two best anime I've ever seen in my life❤❤
Netflix and Marvel are doing the flood the market thing, and it will end up costing them viewers. Real fans of the shows want to see the main characters story arcs, not new people taking over the same role after a couple of seasons. I haven't watched any of the Marvel movies since before the last Dr. Strange. We knew Dr. Strange was going to be a mess from the 20 times we saw the previews, both at the movies, and on RUclips. The goofy Marvel movies / shows (She Hulk, please) do not work for many, and there are so many characters and shows now, I'm not watching any of it.
Talking movies. You need to know this Netflix. You need to establish a cinema chain across the globe. I like to see movies (blockbuster or otherwise) on the big screen. So while making these movies are good and putting onto your service. Unless they on the mega screens in the huge blackened area with sound that rattles your brain what’s the point. I may see it once or twice BUT unless I get the cinematic experience they are quickly dismissed as bland at best. Actors should strike again demanding all movies they make should be on the big screen for a standard run so I (we) can get a blockbuster experience then with that memorable moment we would be happy to see it on the home smart tv screen. eg TC and Mission Impossible looses quite a bit on the small screen.
