They only have one hour windows, and the big hnmls on the server tend to keep them at convenient pop times, and often have a lot of them popping one after the other.
I love seeing unusual combos and setups in FFXI! There's so much flexibility in the game. One of my complaints back in retail was how stiff the meta tended to be when there were so many interesting approaches available. It feels like Horizon is doing a decent job giving more opportunities to let unusual builds and parties shine.
This is awesome! I never would have thought to do this, as I remember FFXI back in retail 2012 having DNC as the sub job. I ran MNK/SAM as my unconventional build back then too, was a fun TP spammer. Btw great Cactaur in the background, and that Vivi plush 🎉❤
Thanks for that great idea! I always thought Thf was more of a enmity controler with a dps to pass time. Now with Horizons change they can really lean into that.
I don’t think any thief from the Players on Fenrir server back in my days was doing this. I really really do want to join you guys. You guys rock ! And collaborator sounds fun! Thanks for your content !
Neat video Kwech! One thing we did back in the day in regards to assist macros was the syntax: /assist pretty sure this will work on Horizon as well. Love the content, thank you!
One thing i dislike is the endgame damage is pretty much all BLM and SMN. Melle DPS in endgame is pretty much useless. Most of the time you dont want to feed TP or there is a giant defense boots like the crab HENM. Scorpion HENM is all magic damage also. The list goes on. I wish the horizon dev is gonna balance this with TOAU content. What do you think ?
Our group has done nothing but melee burn crabs, scorpions, all of sky, and most of sea. Only JoL, the 3 land HQ kings, and grand wyrms do we use blms/smns only. Melee are used for SCs on a few of those too.
Think it's because blms and smn can dish out a lot of dmg just from average ah gear where as melee require a lot more harder to get gear to become more useful, so smaller shells tend to use more blm and smn.
Matt31690 left a good reply, I'd say my experience has largely been the same. Crab HENM for example is a straight up -%dt that tapers every 10% mob hp so melee or mage are both similar
It’s crazy how people have the time for HNM.

Totally agree. Horizon devs have taken a handful of steps to play in space SE didn't.
I ran a monk samurai build back in 2012 retail version. Turns MNK into TP whore and spam punchy weapon skills, good times

rock on!
@@CallMekwech downloaded Horizon last night but had issues making it go brrrr. Have to try again.
@@BensonMTG the official discord is a great resource if you still have trouble
@@CallMekwech yeah, I joined that today. I’ll get help for sure if I get stuck again.

it's been really fun to lean into
Pretty cool. Always loved ffxi’s horizontal progression

Ah yeah good call on
Thx/pld for sata hAte swap I'm assuming
yeap, also auto-refresh is helpful if you're just running around like an idiot chasing the dog
I guess this is interesting for thieves that want to do more than just stick TH on the mob.
it's been genuinely useful the one/two times a month I fight KB lol

What
Thf/Whm would be better.
whm doesnt have auto refresh
I've considered it for the self barspell. But I will say it lowers the potential of assisting with enmity.
More non meta builds!
😉
