Today I am very interested in continuing to learn about how Norway is quickly becoming the richest country in the world. About the phosphate, they didn't even talk about it in the news because its a hush-hush thing until they acctually start mining it, haha.
Hush-hush? Well...now its al over the internett! 😂🤣
It appears that they are also planning to hold a meeting to discuss the management and investment of the proceeds. Whether we establish a separate fund or merge it with the oil fund, these decisions must be made before any mining activities can commence.
Furthermore, the mining process is not as straightforward as it may seem. It has been projected to be a costly and time consuming endeavor. As a result, we may not see any significant developments until 2030 at the earliest.
The thing with this discovery is the fact the ore is very very deep and in the range between very hard and impossible to mine with todays technology. That said, this was also true when we started deep sea drilling a few decades back.
From the looks of that rare eatth metal thing, I'll be living in a mine soon.
Yeah, surely, only a fraction of that will actually be mined. A ton of people living in that area. And mining it surely wouldn’t be very good for local nature either. Even though it would be satisfying having all that money rolling into the wealth fund!
Funny thing is, in norwegian news there is very little talk about these newly discovered resources. And these specific areas where they found these resources, there are a lot of very valuable nature areas and agriculture land. Which makes extracting these new resources difficult and in some cases very controversial...
I hope he remember what it is tomorrow 🇳🇴
Yes, there is one thing Norway does not have in terms of energy, and that is cheaper prices.
Higher cost of living is expected given our high avrage income and NAV system. Although we could stop sending all our hydropower elsewhere while charging a markup on energy in the country.

Not exactly.
We depend on food imports.
Only 3% of Norway is suitable for agriculture after all...
no we dont, but its CHEAPER to import some products for making food that make it here..
17 MAY TOMORROW!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Norway just hit the jackpot 😂
You are more Norwegian than me at this point❤😂 In Norway we trust should be a new slogan. Also please come fast when Putin hears about these findings.
Putin cant do shit, cant even defeat Ukraine
Norway asphalts good agricultural land, so the area for growing food is getting smaller and smaller. Moreover, we save so much that we save ourselves poor.
I agree that our treatment of agricultural soil is horrible given how little we have.
But saving the money makes sense.
If we used all of it we'd just lose all the value to inflation.
As it is we're able to make use of it and keep using it long term to augment our economy.
That is just total ignorance. We have such an enormous spending that we risk collapsing our economy if we spend more.
Here we go with the finale :-) future is looking great...
@Tyler Walker explenation about phosphate :; translated... he most important use of phosphates is as fertilizer in agriculture in the form of superphosphate, triple superphosphate, ammonium phosphate and more. Phosphates are also found in many other products, including mineral water, toothpaste, ice cream, cleaning agents, oil drilling mud and pharmaceutical preparations.
You know he doesn't pay attention to the comments right?

Norway is almost stupidly successful😂 I'll just say it: as a Norwegian (🤣🤣) it's almost embarrassing... Even if it sounds a little better than it actually is..😉

Some rumours says Denmark could had alot more oil field than Norway but the one that negotiated on behalf of Denmark according to urban legend was to drunk when he signed the deal in the 60s🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In the early negotiations there where agreed upon a note/chapter that said that any of the countries involved, Norway, Denmark, England could demand a revision of a small percentage of the broder, where the three countries met in the North Sea, at a later stage, after the main agreement regarding the major layout of borders where signed. The danish representative got served some 'extra' to drink, and in the end that 'side note' mentioned above was 'forgotten' to be included in the main agreement, no objections from the Dane)
This scare me! Soon every contry in the world want to own norway.
god loves Norway
It must be all the praying…..😇🇳🇴
Yeah Odin has his eye on us xD
I wonder if Tyler would be able to pick out Norway on a map...? 🤔
Not only did we find oil and phosphate, but we found America to xD and yeah the southpole ig.
Rare earth minerals/metals are being discovered in new places every day -- incl. in the US, Canada, Japan....
sure, but not of conciderable size

Hey Tyler, can you react to Juvet Landscape Hotel?
🎉Happy 17 mai to my fellow Norwegians 🇳🇴👍😍.Long live the King🎉❤
no wonder we sent all the eguipment and money to Ukraine lol... we just found gold!
Why are you so interrested in norway?
It's just about him being a content creator, choosing a country or a topic as a niche, and then primarily make videos about it.
We can hope that one day you will WAKE UP !!! Not everything IS as it seems..... Have a nice day Tyler....
China isn't self-sufficient in food, in energy, etc.
Furthermore, it is an export driven economy; a huge part of its economy consists of selling to the US, the most lucrative consumer market.
It will mostly behave.
Tyler do you not think the richest country in the world can not produce its own supplies of these metals. But America doesn't see any value in this at all just investing in the military are that's it
Hello
Can you grow, e.g., oranges in Norway? No.
Can 5 million people produce all the goods and services that a modern society needs? No.
Self-sufficiency in the modern world is a pipe dream, even more so for a small country.
Just like a large country (USA) can't produce the energy it needs.
Norwegians grew oranges in 1700s, there is a trick called greenhouse. That's the thing with energy, during cold winter period, we can produce food in a greenhouse with heating.
There is no goal to produce all goods locally, Norway is very trade oriented. In 2023, Norway was the biggest seafood exporter in the world, but import big share of other food products. Not the most competitive place for agriculture production, but super competitive place for seafood production.
With great power comes great responsibility (spiderman), not only for our country but the expectation the rest of Europe have for us. The demands are getting more ridicules and the political party are feeding the EU for their own gain. Hopefully changes will be made to improve Norway in the next election. We are privileged, rich and have the future generation secured, but right now it doesn't feel like that in my honest opinion.
This is more about your personal point of view and opinions than facts.
@@oh515 That person is stating both facts and personal points of views and opinions because the demands EU are giving Norway is getting more and more ridicolous and the political parties have to stop only saying yes because we have so much important things for EU but the people controlling the country now has no control over the resources and only does what otheer countries says.
@@tobiasjohnsrud9513 Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself.
@@oh515that is what I love about us norwegians.. We always nag about bs. Many of us act like those woke people on someds that doesn't have a clue about anything exept they want everything for free without contributing. 😂
@@tobiasjohnsrud9513imagine what the prices of what we import from Europe would be without Schengen? Remember that areas big enough to produce food is mainly found in the bottom half of the country. We can not live on herring, wheat and potato's alone.. Wait, we actually did at some point. Think before you type please.
⚠️!!!REMEMBER THAT TOMORROW IS NORWAYS NATIONAL DAY MAY THE 17TH YOU HAVE TO POST!!!⚠️
LOL :D :D its only Norwegians that call this a national day :D it is Norways Constitution Day
@@Viper87thdirectly translated you know 😊
@@mari97216 yes, and that is how a norwegian would do,if he cant speak propper english ;)
@@Viper87th ok…
And this series haven’t even talked about Norways 17% of all the Torium deposites in the world. But that’s way ahead in the future 😊
But an important detail is that the majority of that amount isn't concentrated enough to be worth extracting with current technology and prices. It may still be relevant for the future, but as you said, that's way ahead.
A large part of the phosphate discovered in norway is not sustainably recoverable so the amount is not as much as it is stated in the video. Still a considerable amount though
Pssst, Tyler.
America(ns) have 30% of the world's wealth.
For once I agree with you. If you stop the namecalling and ridicule, you might get your point across.
Well.. 2% of Americans have 30% of the world's wealth. I highly doubt that you are part of that 2%..
Pssst, The United States has more inequality and disparities of wealth between rich and poor than any other major developed nation. So not sure I would brag about that, as it only shows how truly corrupt and deranged your economy and politics are....
