It's crazy how an 11-time Pro Bowler and first ballot Hall of Famer can be underrated, but considering the fact that he played in the same era as Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher, I truly believe that Derrick Brooks was underrated
@@ajburrr His stats are very comparable to Brian Urlacher, who was a first ballot hall of famer while Thomas has only ever been a finalist once (this year)
Right on my comment I did my best to name some greats from the late 90s through the 2010s that have retired. Being an early 90s baby we were blessed to watch a lot of great hard hitting linebackers
Anyone born in the early 90s like myself was very fortunate to be able to watch Derrick Brooks, Zack Thomas, Junior Seau, Willie McGinnest, Teddy Bruschi, Mike Vrabal, Joey Porter, London Fletcher, Pat Willis, Keith Bullock, Luke Kuechley, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Terrell Suggs, and Ray Lewis play their magnificent careers in front of our eyes. I know I most likely forgot some great linebackers from the late 90s through the 2010s that have retired but this is just a sample size of the greatness we were able to watch and appreciate.
Maaan Jeremiah trotter, Johnathan Vilma, Shawne Merriman, Keith brooking, takeo spikes yeaaaa those were the good days. When every position had really good players not just a few.
Brooks is still beloved by the Tampa Bay Area. He does a lot for the community and helped organize and advocate for Tampa to host Super Bowl LV. Really great dude. Always has a smile on his face!
From a talent perspective, the 2002 Bucs might be the greatest defense of all-time. Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, John Lynch, Simeon Rice, Warren Sapp, Shelton Quarles (a Pro Bowler that season)... that team was stacked
From a talent perspective...That 06 Baltimore Ravens had some ballers on it too though Lewis, Reed, McAlister, Rolle, Suggs, Ngata, Thomas, Scott, Pryce, and Landry 6 Pro Bowlers and 2 pro bowl snubs
Love Derrick Brooks as a Bucs fan! He played the game with such fearlessness and I was proud to have him on our team because by all accounts he is/was such as great person.
Jaylons first clip is greenbay vs Dallas, both teams have released him since his video. I hope he can overcome injuries and put his passion back into play . Best of wishes
"Knock your chest off!" Brooks to Isaac Bruce, "They better check McNabb, you better check him.." Brooks after drilling McNabb in the chest to the turf!!
In Tampa Derrick Brooks is beloved, he still lives here and is very involved with the community. He is an ambassador for the city and the Buccaneers. That man was a stud on and off the field.
I CANT STAND THE BUCCANEERS SINCE I CAN REMEMBER, (ESPECIALLY their "smart" fans) But I have nothing but pure RESPECT for the players!! And with that being said... I honestly can't believe after Tampa cut Brooks, NO OTHER TEAM picked him up!! Completely blows my mind till this day!!
Automatically unfollow if anyone ever makes the Jaylon Smith/Derrick comparison. Jaylon is THE worst LB in the NFL. What a joke and an insult to Derrick
Honestly I was a huge fan of jaylon coming out of college but when he started to only care of his image and not his play he lost me and lost his teammates. There's a ton of video of him moving teammates out of the frame so he can be in the celebrations smh I hope he proves me wrong and commits to being a wreaking force but I think he's done
Because Madden is not based on real football it's just based on bullcrap ratings that nerds give them. Y'all should know this Madden's been trashed for the last 9 years.

Zach Thomas to me is more underrated since he didn’t play on a SB contending team

A lot of underrated LB’s during the Ray Lewis era like Zach Thomas & London Fletcher
Derrick Brooks was one of the great linebackers of the 2000s
Understatement! But, yes I totally agree as a lifelong Falcons fan.
*of all time
More like ever he was one of the best covering linebackers
What Nino said of all time and I'm #1 LT NYG fan
Of all time for sure

@@AnonymousRandomGuy006 you forgot Adalius Thomas who was 1st team All-Pro that year.

Best coverage LB of all time
Derrick brooks was a monster
As a lifelong Bucs fan, Derrick Brooks was Mr. Buccaneer. An amazing player and an amazing man.
Hey Throwback, are you gonna do one with Jerry Rice and Randy Moss?
Because that is gonna be amazinggg, and I will be waiting!!!

Jaylen Smith isn't even good enough to call him overrated. He's just bad

It was that terrible scheme Dallas ran

Jaylon is an excellent player but this past season wasn’t the best....
Statistically it was his best season lmfao behind the worst D-line in football were he also had to pretty much play LVE spot as well
First
Comparing Jaylon Smith to Derrick Brooks is disrespectful .. not even close
I’m sorry but jaylon nothin near Derrick brooks level
Jaylon Smith blows. I'm offended he's even able to have this segment with an all-time great like Derrick Brooks.
Jay been solid what you talkin bout
