Glider constructions

"Bielskie gliders", i.e. the Glider Experimental Company, was the only one of its kind and the largest in the world designing and producing gliders.
The institute, headed initially by R. Weigl, and then by W. Nowakowski, later transformed into the Szybowcowe Zakłady Doświadczalne SZD, provided Polish gliders with many excellent gliders. The first one was the Vulture, then the Fly, the Hawk, the Swallow, the Stork, the Heron, the Marshmallow, the Seal, the Cobra, the Kobuz, and the Jantar.
The "Bielski gliders" survived until the political and economic reform in the 1990s. Unfortunately, the Department did not survive this reform for many reasons.

Dostarczył mi w czasie wykonywania akrobacji wielu niezapomnianych wrażeń. A podczas przelotu np. po trasie trójkąta 100 w trakcie mocnych warunków, pozwalał odczuwać wrażenie poczucia bezpieczeństwa w locie tzw. "delfinem". Lecąc z dużą prędkością przeskokową w strefie występowania dużej ilości mocnych prądów wznoszących na szlaku pod chmurami Cu nie miało się wrażenia, że się zaraz rozleci, choć tzw. "jazda na tarku" nie należy do oczywistych przyjemności jednak była i taką ją zapamiętam
