    My template is way more in depth and I am still evolving it, residential timber frame is my focus though and I do it every day. I cant say how much more efficient having a good template has made me, It has cut my time spent on a project down to a quarter of the time I used to spend.

      Awesome! Perfect example as to when you have a specific type of work or market sector you SHOULD build a template that works for you! Thanks for tuning in!

    Your plans are so clean and compact, very impressed. There's a lot of cool tips in the presentation aspect such as using a non-black color for anno text and printing in color in general. We've moved past the days of illegible 2D prints! The exploded view on S100 is particularly impressive, it's like looking at a LEGO guide.

      Cheers! That’s the name of the game … we’re in Revit… we can make ANY type of view we want! 💪💪

    A filter could be utilized to make the annotations color, that maybe more helpful than modifying the family itself.

    I 100% agree on the browser organization. Having it well thought out and organized can save HUGE amounts of time looking for views and sheets.
    I have 3 different browser organizations set up for both views and sheets; Standard, Multi-Building, Renovation (Phase). Each have the same basic organization (Multi-Building and Reno are the same as the standard with one higher organization by Building and Phase).
    Once users understood the concepts, and a few lessons on how to customize it if needed for certain use case scenarios adoption was incredibly fast.

    @22:38 Your section shows the roof finish in line with the structure. How would you show the plywood extending beyond the structure in a much LARGER scale wall section? Thanks

    After 10+ years of mastering Archicad I always wonder why I didn’t start the transition to Revit sooner.

    Firstly thanks for sharing your workflow, I'm wondering do you have a tutorial starting from scratch/zero a residential project? Would love if it was this project ;)

    Great templates..im new to Drafting and plans have always been hard to read, but this simplifies them and is easy to read. Can you convert all families perimeters etc to metric?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks! Yes, technically you can convert to metric but things like type names, etc… will take some serious time to convert

  • @Sitche
    @Sitche 9 месяцев назад +1

    Great template. Is it also available in metric system.

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  9 месяцев назад +1

      it is only imperial… however, you can flip the project units in Revit with only a few clicks. The biggest issue is the family naming and types will not change (for example, 36” Window… will stay being called 36” Window…)

    What do you do with the fonts for text styles? Did you pick a font that standard windows PC's have installed?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yes I actually use Arial narrow for that exact reason! Works on ALL computers!

      I don’t have a structural template but I have structural elements in my template and sample project … for small scale residential I do a lot of structural work myself as the architect.
