That was such a beautiful interaction, JPs body language could just tell he wasn’t itching to wrap up the conversation like a lot of famous people would be, I dunno why but there was genuinity there that made that whole conversation classy and pleasurable to watch. Met petrucci several times. He's always so gracious. He was very encouraging to my son, now 13 years later my sin is a stunning guitar player. I know jp had a part in that.

EVH has a sound, Dimebag had a sound, Tom Morello has a sound, Hendrix had a sound, Iommi invented Heavy Metal (doom and sludge to be exact). Petrucci chases Metallica and Rush in essence (and those bands have a sound). If there was a new song at random on the radio, he doesn't have anything in his writing that makes you go, "ah, that's Petrucci right there". He maybe be a nice guy and retailers love him as a poster boy for their marketing, but he doesn't have sound. He's no god. Frankly, no one is.

This kids pride in his work.... just one of the many reasons why I only shop sweetwater. Their attention to detail and customer service is hands down unmatched. Quick note, the fact that they assign you your own rep, who you can call to ask questions and whom will go out of their way to get you set up is phenomenal. Having my own person, who knows me and calls to check in and let me know about sales etc is really cool. They are never pressuring to make a sale either, they just like chatting about gear. My rep helped me get a custom color dimarzio pickup one time, was not something they had available, or something they even manufactured.. but he called the manufacturer and set it all up for me, free if any additional costs, and totally did not have to do that.
JP is simply a good good man by heart. He just gave that young fellow an eternal motivation and the story of the life time. Every time i hear JP talking, I am just impressed so much.

That is the best I have ever seen! Petrucci as „normal“ as can be.. showing some of his personal chords and the technician talking to him like he was just a classmate or colleague! Amazing! For me Petrucci is one of the friendliest and most down to Earth Top-Class musician I have ever seen.

That was awesome. JP has shown time and time again what a top bloke he is. I love how much of a full music nerd he is and he probably made that young bloke's day. No rock star attitude, just a devotion to his craft and the love of sharing it with other people. Classy.

That's about the most pleasant interaction between two appreciators of the guitar I've seen in a long while. John needs to take that young man under his wing because he's very talented and can be quite famous if given the support.

He wasn't explaining. He is speaking guitar. There was no ego behind it, just an appreciation for music theory.
Everything here is awsome, from the guitar to the tech guy to John. Just two guitar loving dudes chatting and playing, John might well be one of the nicest people in rock.
