This video was helpful. Thanks Greg for posting this. The Orange Tree Samples libraries are very good but they did need video tutorials to show how to use them properly. I am glad this is being addressed.
A very good tutorial how to create custom strumming patterns with a human touch. Unfortunately i notice timing problems in all orange tree evolution libraries which have a strong impact on the strumming timing and groove.
I just had two problems working with this please help me how do I change fretting position while strumming? I don't want it to be fixed at a position throughout the song? the other is with the different articulation key switches. I dont find any key switch for palm mute/rest/harmonic etc. thanks for your help
Orange Tree Samples . I really like this guitar but there is a problem that I have not yet managed to solve, because when I do the strumming mode and put the guitar together with other instruments it is not in time, I hear that the guitar is a little late in time, you can explain How to solve this problem?
Drums Hollowbody is amazing! Don’t give up on it. Once you get the hang of it, you can make awesome guitar parts rather quickly. Riffer is cool too. It’s an intuitive way to program parts.✌🏾
i love the sound of my OT hollowbody blues plugin. but i wish it came with some demo song or midi file examples... ive had it for a few years and still find it very difficult to make realistic songs with .. would appreciate and feedback thnkx in advance..
Thank you. You explain what I can guess myself. Could you also explain how to make the program to transfer the strumming pattern to the track (be playable from the track?).
Richard Struve no your programming is 1985. Session guitarist is sweet but your are triggering someone’s playing/programming and it’s quite tweakable but Evolution Guitar Engine responds entirely to your programming. You can make it do whatever you want it to do ;-).✌🏾
Quick question, really for anyone here who may know the answer. I'm building a strumming pattern and the chord change seems to lag behind what I've played into the DAW. It's really just a simple test. I have a D-major chord, changing to an A-minor chord, then I'm just using one strumming pattern that I hold (as a single MIDI note) across both chords. Each chord is supposed to last four beats, then change right on beat 1 of the next measure. But when I play it, the previous chord seems to "lag" over into the first beat of the next measure, then it's really about beat 2 by the time the new chord kicks in. What am I doing wrong?
302 Music what you need to do is play your chord slightly BEFORE the strum. I think the engine does this to try to make the transition between the chords as seamless as possible. The strumming feature on the Native Instruments plug-ins for the acoustic guitars and the Scarbee funk guitar works the same way.
I cant seem to find a Good Electric guitar " FUNK " vst. Disco stuff. come on. 2021 But same time being able to play free chords with right hand, easy and fast.
@@skyma6480 Oh yea, it's the C2 note, i think that actually activates the thing. You just draw the chords in, activate the strum mode and draw the bottom note in. (it could be a slightly different note that activates it, but just keep trying the bottom most octave notes, until one of them activates it)
Uncomfortable UI for me .. Poor Presets and poor strumming sounds Sorry, Listen to the NI Session Guitarist strum, AAS GS-strum2 and Ample guitar strum..
you should release a library of common strums like these...

This sounds great! I need to revisit the strum feature.
Just what I needed! Thanks, Greg. Very helpful. Now it makes sense to me. Will be able to do better sounding strums now! More videos please.
Amazing articulate and ridiculously realistic...thank you Orange Tree!!!
YESSS... I've been waiting for these how to use vidz, please keep them coming!!!
Same here!
hey great video, how do you change strumming from upstroke to downstroke?
Thank you Greg.....awesome tutorial
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Extremely helpful!

Has is been updated or is still how you do it? I like it that way for sure. Thanks.
Awesome
Hi, Orange Tree. How can I change between disabled and held notes only chord modes in piano roll or using cc midi controller? Thank you!
Can you make slow strum (one direct) such as harukaze song by flumpool...

casino son I’ve seen ALOT of people with this latency issue and have yet to find/read a solution 🤦🏾♂️
@orangetreesamples can you copy and a strum pattern to another pattern 2,3,4,5 or 6 without saving?
Please release a phrase library like Ujam or Native Instruments. Your guitar strumming system is too hard to program.
Everything is clear here but how do you start playing the chords?
Wish I hadn't bought Hollowbody. It's so hard to get anything up and running quickly. Amplesound was the way to go for me as they have the riffer.

The demo MIDI files are included in the "Demo Songs" subfolder along with the exact presets they each use. :)
@@OrangeTreeSamples thankx guys i found them..smh
Can you include strums with finger/pick picking
One thing still not understand how did you make down and up strum just sustain

Is it possible to integrate effects after I've made a strumming pattern?
Within a DAW of course*
Yes, you can add or change the effects after making a strumming pattern as well.
it would be very useful if u just add velocity control for the fx too in the strum engine
evan until then you can use automation in your DAW to do it

complicated.....!!!!!!!!
What’s complicated about it? This is much simpler than most similar VSTs out there. Prominy series is much more complex.
