- Every adventure we embark on begins and ends in our trusty Volvo XC70. We've driven more than 70,000 km in less than two years with this car and it's still in great shape, with over 340,000 km on the odometer! 👌🏼

Hi! I have the same car, but 2.4 185hp, it's a great car, but just one problem, it consumes a lot... do you have any tips in order to reduce the fuel consumption?
Hi, it's the same, 185HP is ~136kW 😉 so what is your consumption? Do you have also AWD and AT? If yes, about 8l/100km out of city and about 10-11l/100km in city is normal.

yes, the cosumption is around 8,5 on long distance and more in city, although I don't use it very much in city.
do you think that I can put a chip in order to boost the engine up to 215 hp? would it consume less?
@@francescoromeo347 I have mine chipped to the 158kW (211HP) with D5T5 Stage2 and it's tuned for the higher power/torque with same fuel consumption. So consumption stay same in my case but I think exists also some fuel saver chips. But for this type of car and engine is this consumption totally OK.

Absolutely beautiful my friend. I love the relationship between you and your Volvo and all the journeys you have conquered together. My family has been attached to volvos for many many years. I have a ‘86 240 wagon in cream color with the m46 trans that I bought from the original owner and she is in pristine condition:). My mother has a ‘20 v60 cross country and my dad has a ‘90 240 wagon. Your awesome content is really pushing me to get a xc70!! Keep up the great work buddy!!

While watching this film, only good and pleasant emotions, relaxation, peace and dreams flood in. To show that inseparable connection between you, nature and Volvo. It's great. I can say, Volvo xc70 is the best car ever made.
I used to do the same kind of camping trip with my old 240 and then switched to a vw transporter which il did the same sound deadning process. Your videos are great and full of memories for me. Thanks !

Anyway, when you sleep in the car - all windows are closed and the air is still okay for sleeping? I read once that sleeping in the car with windows closed is totally ok, no need to have any space for ventilation. What is your experience, please? When considering your sleeping overnight @ -11°C, I guess you have it always close to the top. Don't you?
That carbon soot in the engine - is that common, even when driving properly, not even on low revs? No issues about it?
DPF after 340k km - no prob? My serviceman told us this MYs 07-13 are reliable and robust.

I just bought a xc70 as wel. I live in northern sweden (lapland) in the middle of nowhere and it's just perfect. Its comfortabele powerfull and goes offroad.

I used to have a XC90 and have driven XC60, C70 however XC70 still is the most beautiful! (I have a soft spot for the V90 CC ocean race edition).

I have to say EBC UK do fantastic rota and disc sets for this car, They just dont seem to know it. Yellow pads made my car stop in half the distance.

Hi, i actually answer you in other comment too.. I have no probles with it, but yes, it's a common discussion and definitely not everybody is happy with this kind of slow, sometimes chaotic AT... I read a lot of hate to these TF-80 and TF-81 and then one day I will go try it - not bad at all for me.. just a angle of view, personal preference :)

I came as imigrant to sweden and own V40 2014 and people always ask me, damn you are new and doing well but how you afford to see all those places? Well i dont drink i dont smoke, and i dont pay hotels. I just manage to overnight somehow in my car in the woods, even tho its cramped it is very silent. I am thinking of getting a xc70 tomorrow and leaving V40 to my wife.

@@VolvoCamperLife Well V40 actuall on the inside is 99% the same in looks and quality as V40, i only like V70/XC70 because of more space. I had an A6 C7 before, it was amazing car but too much investing.
I sleep in the car almost every second week when i go somewhere. Sometimes even more. But not so much in winter as in summer. For example if we go on a road trip we sleep in it every day for like 2 weeks.
No i did not exchange it because the one i went looking had turbo whistle noises, which is common problem on V70s
@@Dreamlink91 Great, thanks for reply. Sweden must be so great for trips like you mentioned. Sweden is btw my traveling dream. We want to go to the north Norway in the summer and to the Sweden in the winter.. these are my plans :) Now I camping of course most the time somewhere in the Slovakia :)

Thank you! Yep, the XC70 is like it was made for that type of cross-country roads. Not really, I'm more of a hobby videographer, but I work in the film industry, so, particularly, yes 🙂

Momentálne prebieha vyber dalsieho auta cize niečo na tvoj a moj štýl...uvidime ako to dopadne. Kazdopadne tvoje videa nachylili miaku vah smerom k alternatíve ako jazdis ty....

Užívam si veru, už sme takto spolu prešli cez 70 tisíc km a zatiaľ to nevyzerá, že by sme končili 🙂 Toto auto sa skvele hodí k tomuto nášmu štýlu cestovania, ďalšie bude pravdepodobne rovnaký model, len mladší. Tak prajem šťastlivý výber nového auta 😉
I have one question. Is your lovely Volvo was a unconfortable noisy while u dreve it faster or when the engine goes over 3+ k PM or wher is on a speedway and that is the reason for put that noise isolation, or is just yout disision to improove the car. And is it much more queter thar before? Thank u for ur content!
Hi, the car was not very noisy even at high speeds. The main reason was an increase in the quality of music reproduction and thermal comfort when camping (combined with insulating foils in the windows). A bonus, very pleasant improvement was in the noise from the roof box, it emits a significant noise at higher speeds and thanks to the insulation of the roof, it was partially suppressed.
Overall noise decrease was not more than 1.5dB because it wasn't a full body insulation.
Did the highway noise level reduce noticeably after fitting the roof and doors with noise klilling materials?
Yes, it is noticable. I also measured about -1.5dB at same speed on same road. Also the music sounds much better. Now I driving all the time with the roof box and this is difference too thanks roof insulation 🙂

A decision was made after watching this. Excellent video, thank you for uploading.
The XC70's are brilliant, have put hundreds of thousands of miles on them. Rule 1 get them maintained by a Volvo XC70 expert. Rule 2 Use the best tyres, here Continentals, don't know about Nordic winters of mud. Have driven across countries, up icy mountain roads, moved boats, bikes, fridges, real usable volume. Driven on very uneven roads, very comfortably and controllably, whilst other cars bounce around uncomfortably and uncontrollably.

Thanks so much! I bought a 2016 t5 platinum in September. It's great to see the performance up close as I fish in the mountains of West Virginia and haven't challenged the car to the forestry and unimproved roads to get to my spots.

Hi, I bet on Dodo Juice products and I was completely satisfied. It was my first polishing so I can't compare but results were perfect 🙂 I used Dodo Juice Lime Prime as polish gel.

Looks like a very well maintained car. Love how you insulated the hell out of the roof and door panels. Seems like such a cheap and easy thing to do. Don't know why more luxury cars don't do that.
Hello Andrew, thank you. Yes, it is easy and difference is a huge in compare to the original.. Answer is emissions (they need save the weight everywhere 😒 ).. and price.. and weight again.
