Actually it isn’t, a 15 year old E46 can do 100km/h in 8.9 seconds, almost 2 seconds faster than a brand new Golf, with the same amount of horsepower and torque.

Watch closely, the timer starts when he revs not when he launches, the timer is at 2 sec when he actually lets off the clutch. So no, I'm not blind.
This are dhp, means 150 Diesel-Horsepower. The E46 with petrol goes a lot faster, because his higher RPM range.

You are literally comparing a 150hp car against a 600hp car.
Tbh that golf isn't even slow, its 0 to 100mph in 22 seconds, most people don't even have anything remotely as fast and will bash it for being slow, when in the real world, it would be a totally different story. Im not saying its fastest car in the world but neither is it slow.
I agree. I do have something considerably faster than this Golf but I don't understand the point of this video at all. What a surprise? BMW M5 outruns middling spec Golf.

So for the sake of a few seconds its worth a easy 70k diffreence in price ? So the bmw hit 0 to 60 in like 4 secs and the vw did it in around 10 secs, differnce of 6 seconds, thats like approx £17,500 per second x by 6 seconds, which nutter wouod think thats a worthy investment, id understand if it was like 6 hours faster but seconds lol forget it

Burak Harputoglu I know its got a manual gearbox but still, the acceleration when in gear is still underwhelming... My 13 years old 1.9 cdti 150hp Astra H GTC is quicker, thats why I can compare what Ive seen in this video with my own experience and say its slow for 150hp.
Feels alot quicker when you are driving the car going redline to redline, being push back into the seat, keeping an eye on the road, timing gear changes perfectly, that all requires alot of concentration. Just watching a video of a dashboard dials going up and down not so much so. Not saying your Astra is not quicker but bear that in consideration.

Katsumoto0456 Thats true haha, but maybe the problem here was that the guy in the video did in fact accelerate until reaching redline when probably the powerband wasnt there.

Further to the other comment, that 450 power difference equates to the BMW having 400% more power .
BMW has 4 times the amount of power, compare any car 4 times slower than another car and it will look remotely slow

Noticed that aswell, strange! Why compare 0-100 times when the clocks doesn't start simultaneously? xD 0-100 in about 2,9 sec is pretty sick tho (~3,6 - 0,7) sec.

SemperfideliS darum geht es in dem Test nicht. Der Golf spiegelt 98% der Fahrzeuge aller youtube Nutzer wider. Es soll zeigen wie viel schneller ein m5 ist. Ich fahre einen 530d firmenwagen und finde den schon echt schnell. Gg. Einen m5 wirkt er trotzdem wie ein verkerhshindernis😉
