Phil X is such a great player! I love watching his fingers on the fretboard, even when he's shredding it looks like he gives every note it's due time. You're the man Phil!
Yes he mentioned Indian, my nationality (I know he meant first nation, but eh!) you guys might not believe this but us Indians love your videos especially Phil X, and despite me being Indian I live in Canada which just makes him more special(hence he is Canadian too) ,and once again, India shows you love man (ask Bryan Adams, he knows, I have seen him in concerts in India)
Cool-is it love..good on you.Canada here as well. Always entertaining and great energy for music...keep on a rokin Phil. Cheers and thanks for posting this.
Kim Mitchell came to my high school (Fort Erie Secondary) in the mid 70's with his band Max Webster and he kicked ass!! Too bad they dont get along any more i wish they put their differences aside and do a reunion for old times sake..
@toobasaurus23 I believe rosewood is harder, and sounds warmer, where as Maple is a bit softer, and brighter. I prefer maple personally, but I play bass guitar, so I don't really know much about what would sound better on guitar.
your playing is very good, its own unique style to it, and your Canadian, that's awesome, im Canadian as well and im just starting guitar, in fact i just started in November and im doing pretty well (im teaching my self) for a beginner that is, but i like your videos. if you ever get a Hofner bass in your shop can you please do a review on it. thanks
my guitar is a cheap strat copy it was in sunburst but it was all gettin sweaty and paint coming off from dropping it and playing it too much so i sanded it down and painted it this colour it looks awesome
Fenders are amazing guitars!! Strats especially, so versatile and such a recognisable sound, you just don't get that in new models that are coming out these days.
Sorry for the ignorance but what is the difference between a maple fretboard and a brown fretboard? (I don't know what kind of wood is the brown fretboard)
@MrIzzPizz under the bridge by the chili peppers. hehe he listened to it before shooting one video and tried pretty well but wasn't original. but really he's a musician he could probably play any song if he would sit on it for a little while. just listening and playing what you listen right.
Tell that to Jimi Hendrix, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers, Yngwie Malmsteen, Frank Zappa, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Johnson, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, and so on and so on.......
guys, these videos are awesome, only thing i would say is that u should put the name of the songs Phils playing like in the corner of the screen while he's playing them... :)
@drnapster I can get that tone to from my fender champion 600, difference is that it needs effects in orther to do that:p The tonemaster can rock on its own:p
Funky Strat. Phil, where can i get that Drills shirt? Whats the difference between rosewood and maple? I have a Gibson LP and a Maton accoustic. Keep up the sick work bro. T23

Phil X don't need no coke...he's got talent and passion for what he's doing.
Phil X is such a great player! I love watching his fingers on the fretboard, even when he's shredding it looks like he gives every note it's due time. You're the man Phil!

so do all vintage strats have a loud hum/buzz with the single coil. If so would that be bad for studio sessions?
my guitar is a cheap strat copy it was in sunburst but it was all gettin sweaty and paint coming off from dropping it and playing it too much so i sanded it down and painted it this colour it looks awesome
Fenders are amazing guitars!! Strats especially, so versatile and such a recognisable sound, you just don't get that in new models that are coming out these days.

I have this strap!! An original ace one too, not one of these try-too-hard reissues!
Awesome guitar, I love all these videos
could someone tell me what brand strap that is and where i could find one?
@StainIessChina They stopped putting Nitro in the 70s, so it might depend of the year it was made.
could someone tell me the year they began using a 5-way switch on strats? appreciate it!
hey Phil does the neck on the CBS Strats feel similar to the 50's early 60's Fender necks?
Great playing by the way.
Thanks
where did you get that guitar strap? :0 I MUST KNOW PLEASE!!!
@sgfout Its called Free Ride by the Edgar Winter Group
best Foxy Lady cover ever
@sblopez08 Ya, he played the strings right above the nut.
wt song was dat at d beginning???
is the rosewood better to play than a maple fingerboard?
its a rose wood, maple makes a thin or funky sound, rosewood make it smooth and fat, rosewood good for blues if you ask me
where can you get phils hendrix strap ??
@Benairgeek He's already done that on another vid. 1954 strat I think actually.
