Agree with Anson that Fred made the 400 to 100 switch look a bit easier than it actually is (same with Shericka). 100m is the glamour event, but it's not to be taken lightly how different of an event it is for an athlete to switch to. Also, look at Fred's season in 2021 when he switched. He ran a ton of 100m races leading up to the trials, and he was 100% healthy, so he was able to focus on training and the transition. Same with Elaine who had actually made a semi-gradual transition considering she solely focused on the 200m during the 2018 off-season. But Norman with his 44.21 opener looks to be healthy and ready to make the USA team this year.

Isn't Shaunae now being coached by Gary Evans (Gardiner, Tamari Davis & MHS's coach)?! It's less about the WR for Shaunae and more about being the 1st person in history (M or W) to win 3 Olympic 400m Golds (and consecutively as well). No offence to Fred, but Shericka with 5 out of a possible 6 Global 100/200m Medals (2 Gold, 2 Silver & 1 Bronze)) and #5 (10.65) & #2 (21.41) all-time marks since moving down to the short sprints has been a little more impressive than Fred's 2 Global 100/200m Medals (1 Gold & 1 Silver) and #6 (9.76) & #27 (19.76) all-time marks.
I didn't drop the interview from after the 1st round of the mixed relay in the Bahamas, but Shaune told me she is mostly home now being trained by her father, but she spends a small amount of time in Florida. But seems like she is fully transitioning to being back in the Bahamas for the time being while she is raising her child.

i dk about jacobs on that list-we shall see! i think degrasse counts as a comeback in regards to most counting him out. how can you count out someone who has medaled in EVERY Olympic event he has ever competed in.
