I love the reference to the Wallace silver bells. My mother and father-in-law gave us this bell every year at Christmas time until their passing, beginning the year we were married, 1977. Over 40 years of bells. They did this for all of their children. A wonderful gift and memory to cherish and pass down to our kids.
Hello. Enjoyed the tour, however, why did you not have a mic on John? He was very muffled. I notice that when you do home tours. You never mic up your guests.
As many times as we tour John's home, we will always find something exciting and fun to see never a dull moment. His home is colorful, cozy, and down to earth .
Hahaha! Your mentioning the metal light reflectors took me waaaay back. One year, maybe 1954 or 1955, my mother saved all the little aluminum pie pans from our Swanson pot pie dinners of the year in anticipation of making reflectors for our tree. Call us crazy but back then we decorated our tree on Christmas Eve! My parents, my two older brothers and I sat on the living room floor cutting the little pans into star shapes. We put a hole in each star so that a light bulb could fit into it then each bulb was screwed into its socket on the string of lights. Once we had attached all the reflectors, Dad turned on the lights. We were so happy and proud of the results!
@@sheriw53 yes that was too bad! Audio needs a lot of attention, otherwise love seeing his designs! I want to sell my too big for me house here in PA and move to a little cottage around the corner from Linda and John😂🤣😆
I couldn’t hear you or John, so sad! I also have about 12 Gorham silver bells I have collected over the years. This year I put them on a silver tray with light blue satin ribbon through the hole. They were so beautiful on my table with white snow bottle brush trees. Wish I could put a pic here.
I love John’s home. Unfortunately I could not understand what he was saying without a microphone. The visual for this house tour was beautiful. I had to turn the sound up extremely high and still I missed a lot of what he was saying. I think you should offer him a microphone next time.❤
You know WE love John!! His idea a decor for the Christmas holidays are right up my alley these days. We sprinkle a lil holiday joy throughout the home!! Love you Linda, have a great Christmas and New Year!!
So thankful for John's sharing his wonderful, cozy home with us. I wish he would write a book about the art of colleting. Also, how about that Nut cluster recipe 🙂
John has the coolest ornaments on his trees! Oh I love the wreath on his front door with the red ribbon! I also like his use of the smaller trees...note to self for next year. My Mom used doilies:) Thanks John for taking Linda and Stewart through your home so we all can see...and get decorating ideas:)! Merry Christmas
What a delightful visit with John today. I've always been a fan of John's, and when he mentioned his affection for doilies, well, I know we are kindred spirits. I've always used them in my elevated glass domes/cake plates, etc. Everyone always comments on them - so simple but really elevates a display. My inventory comes from estate sales, etc. Thank you for the tour - John, your home is so beautiful. May I make a gentle suggestion - I was difficult to hear John and other guests in the past also. I actually had to turn on the closed caption and my hearing is good. I don't want to miss a word John has to say ❤ Thank you.
Great home tour. I agree with some of the others, John should have had a mic 0:04 . I'm not sure if Linda's mic volume was as high as it should have been. I had to turn my volume up really high, which didn't help very much. When the commercials came on the volume was 0:04 very loud, i had to rush to reduce the volume. I agree, as someone said, the person that's being interviewed or giving the tour should have mics as well. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Stewart and your families!
Johns house videos are my absolute favorite. As with all the MIC comments I’m sure you’ll get it figured out .Maybe Santa will bring one. Merry Christmas and looking forward to more great videos in 2025.
YAY!!!! I was hoping we could visit John's wonderful home. He is a class act. John's collection of blue and white is absolutely awesome. What great taste he has in decorating! I caught a glimpse of the silver gazing ball on the rosewood stand in the living room. I just might be a copycat next year.
So love the episodes with John Truman, the chemistry of friendship is so refreshing to watch! Can’t wait for the thrifting episodes, I love those. I’m a thrifter because of watching your channel.
I totally agree with John about getting unlit Christmas trees for the same reason - it's so hard to replace lights on the lit trees. And the unlit trees are much cheaper and I get lights on sale.
It’s truly stunning- I love the use of eclectic miss matched colours- mixing old with new interjection of faux antiques set a wonderful warm tone. Brilliant quite faultless
Oh my goodness! I have been binging on the John Thurman house/garden tours all month. And, what a wonderful surprise to see this new one! I am delighted beyond belief! His style and taste is just absolutely beautiful!
I wish I could hear John. But, and I promise I hate to say this because I do like Linda (or I wouldn't be subscribed, watching her videos) but she talks so, so much, it's not like he got a chance to say much anyway. 😞 All that said, I still, as always, gave her video a thumbs up. 👍
It was me! I'm the one that told you that Target has the wooden Christmas trees this year... I bought about five or six of them and have given them to my friends and of course I kept some.
When you mentioned reflector lights it reminded me of the 1950s when they had those candle bubble lights. We couldn't afford them, but our neighbor who worked for Sears back then had them. As a child I was mesmerized by those lights. I'm with John... I love domes. I consider mine a collection, not a fetish. A dome elevates anything under it. I also love doilies and collect them whenever I see them. I have white ones, pumpkin shaped ones, heart shaped red ones, pastel egg shaped ones I get most of mine at the dollar store. They are just such a special touch when offering company a cup of tea or coffee with a few cookies. Its a throw back to my Mom . John would be so jealous... I found 3 packs of deep blue and white ones at the thrift shop. The pattern almost looked like flow blue. John and his home never failed to delight and inspire me every year.
What a special Christmas treat 🤩Always love seeing John's home! I would move to OKC in a second if I could find a home like John's or Linda's. Beautiful small sized trees with amazing vintage ornaments. Also, I really liked the Christmas table setting with the gorgeous center piece. Everything was lovely, Thank you, to all three of you, and Merry Christmas! 💖
I agree with you about the Wallace Sleigh Bells. I saw them on your show and I had to go find them and I started with some years that have special meaning to me and I will start collecting them that way, my first one was the 2024 and after that they will be all years that are significant. Thanks for sharing them with us.🎄
I love seeing you with your friend again and love his decor…makes me want to find some things he has..but I have sooo much Christmas decor. Thanks Linda. ❤❤❤
Linda, I to lost all my vintage glass ornaments, I started buying them at thrift stores, took two years, but now have a slim 7foot tree full , never to late😊
Loved this video, but as others mentioned, guest needs miked up. I happen to have a 1975 Wallace Christmas Bell ornament with paperwork and box for sale on Facebook marketplace. I also have 24 Blue Shiny Brite glass Bell ornaments for sale, plus. From my parents aluminum tree in the 50's! They would look great in a vlear glass bowl. I wish I had a blue Christmas theme, but too late to start that!
Love John’s home , his collections are breath taking ! I’m a lover of all things blue and white , and the perfect pop of,red for Christmas ! His living room rug is stunning., wondering if you have a link or resource for it ? Merry Christmas to all , and thank you for bringing stunning home tours !
I wish I had John’s talent for layering decor. It’s not easy to do without looking like clutter. Linda has the talent also but doesn’t do as much as her old house. It’s a shame because she has the talent like John has.
John needs a mic!
John is a master at displaying and collecting. I love his style.

@@jodimorris7706. “VERY DISAPPOINTED TOO”.
Same!
You must buy extra mics for your guests. It was very disappointing. The visual was good but I couldn’t understand him. I’m very disappointed 😢
It was a struggle and I missed so much!
Love when you visit John. I wish he was miked up today a he as harder to hear. Merry Christmas to all!!!❤❤❤❤❤

John needed a mic !, Enjoyed tour !Merry Christmas.
Always a joy to see John’s home,

Yes, I love the architecture, style and coziness, too.

Yes! Another Christmas tour of John's home. 🏡🎄
I loved seeing his home, but I couldn’t hear John well.
