As the Northern winter rolls around again we revisit last year’s fly-on-the-wall edit from the crew at Inherent Bummer, who first met up with Ian Walsh at home in Maui, before following him across the Pacific to surf Mavericks in California, with good friends and fellow chargers Kai Lenny and Lucas “Chumbo” Chianca.
It’s an eye-opening look at what goes on in the world of the modern big surfer, who live their lives at the whim of the weather and need to be ready to drop everything and go at the first sign of a storm front. I love the editing with all the in between outtakes. Rather than just 17 min clips of non-stop surfing. Which I love you don’t get me wrong.
I too love more behind-the-scenes stuff with outtakes instead of just pure surf surf surf.
Thjs generation we have oodles of surf content to watch and study. I just wanna sit back , relax, and entertain myself and get to know more about these guys

That hookipa wave is no joke and they make it look easy I went out yesterday at 12 foot and I barley made it past the break then broke my leash after a 2 wave hold down😂😂
Ian does not know me, but we both got completely SACKED by a huge set at HoKeeps in 2000. He looked at Me and said, "We're F'd" as we paddled for our lives. My Board got pulled from my leg, and it was a 20 minute ordeal to get to shore without a flotation device (my board). Of course, when I got in, I changed to a new leash and went right back out.
