Knowing your father's interest and vast knowledge of The Roman Era made this extra special! Well done! I did find the "film scratch" decision puzzling though; filmed in hi def with ulra wide aspect ratio.. .makes film scratch and pop seem even more like an anachronism. Great acting, love the backgrounds and sets , and it was great to see The Dominion !
Thanks and thanks! The grade with the added grain for more "old school" filmic look is just a choice. Part of what modern fil makers fight against is the ultra sharp/ultra crisp look of digital recordings. Digital grain is always added, especially in CGI since the natural perfect look...looks fake because it is. The amount of grain is just a personal preference to the artist :D
@@SGUDistantHope I hear you and probably most people wouldn't have noticed it, except for subliminally, but I am one of "those people" 😉 You are doing a great job and I look forward to the next project!
@@Jack_Stafford Thanks! and yeh...at a certain point its all personal preference. Cant please everyone. I had someone say i should do all these films in 16x9 because im waiting space in anamorphic and it looks worse to him. I replied saying I love the cinematic look, i love designing space shots to anamorphic and working in that ratio since i think it gives my films an extra flare. Thanks! Next film on Saturday! And a small go-fund me launching soon to help me continue until the large Indiegogo in July. We only raised just over 50% of our needed budget last year so.......need to raise the rest to keep going and finish what we started :D
@@SGUDistantHope thank you for the response! I prefer the picture to match my TV ratio, since very few of these great films will ever be shown on that cinema, ultra wide aspect ratio, so most of us are stuck with the annoying letterbox framing. In any case, you're doing great work and I encourage you to do more!
@@Jack_Stafford Yeh i get it! ^^ I just think it looks too much like a standard TV "fan film" vibe when its in 16:9...Anamorphic framing just gives it a flare and i LOVE framing CGI for it. I dont do widescreen and crop, i build it with the extra wide in mind. Thanks! What have been your favourite projects so far? and why if i can ask :D

That was a very unique, imaginative and original screenplay. I can't think of a major classic SF story or series episode anything like it...that is rare even in Paramount production today. No pointless Easter Eggs, no cousin/daughter/sister/descendent/ancestor of a series character...just a new story with a crew science officer.

- Absolutely love the view inside the bridge dome as the Enterprise passes. It's those little touches that help make the Enterprise feel more like a ship that's lived in and less a prop. - Enjoyed the line about noticing the humidity change upon beaming. It's such an off-hand remark, but gives more insights into what beaming might feel like to the human senses. - Dominion crossover! - Excellent job with the character models of the original actors.
Imagine what the women of the ancient civilisation would have looked like, with their moustaches! LOL! Good story, so nicely made too. Well done everyone and thank you.
Utterly brilliant, wonderful, amazing!! What a fun, fascinating, & fantastic episode!! It makes you wonder & think of the “What might have been” scenario…

An interesting mini-episode that might be slipped in between two regular ones in a DVD (yes, I did notice that it was placed immediately after the series finale).
Thank you for this episode. The (possible) easter egg of officers resembling the 'Strange New Worlds' Number One and Dr. M'Benga around the briefing table was a nice touch.🖖

Thanks! I did create all the custom space work for this film. I do custom commission CGI for others if you'd like something specific and unique for your channel?
Ok, if you require payment it would be something I would consider in the future for sure. For now I was thinking more like a collaboration in which I could use some of your Enterprise footage in exchange for a shout out to your channel in my next video with a link to your channel.
Oh? Starfleet officers are aloud to be older than young whipper snappers. I take it you aren't watching ST Picard because the TNG cast are in their 70's/80's?
Interesting plot idea. I could see this being expanded into a lighthearted full-length episode like the Tribbles or Piece of the Action. The only question would be which character got stuck and duplicated. McCoy? He'd be comedic.
I clicked on this thinking it would be mediocre. I was pleasantly surprised. This was outstanding. I hope to see more Memory Alpha documentaries. Also, Galloway looked like he had commander stripes, not lieutenant.
Nicely done! Star Trek story challenge: a story that does not mention time travel, Borg or named characters from any of the series. Can this world stand on its own? p.s. Loved the Dreadnought Dominion.

The short fan film showed some merit, but the Starfleet officer Galloway's rank stripes were decidedly that of a commander while he was addressed as Lieutenant. Glaring error diminished its impact.
