I sure miss the 80's, flipping on the college radio to the left of the dial and finding this on, or sparks, soft cell, early new order...........what a time it was wasnt it? what happened? oh right rap and whiny singing came out all for downloads and pop made a success again, but this stuff here was more underground, dark, moody and to have the vinyl and see the actual record play was like something many of us found hard to obtain.
I have had this song on a compilation for years. I have no memory of hearing it at the time but absolutely love the song. The compilation gives no credits at all. Are you guys telling me Midge Ure produced it? If so, it would explain why I love the sound so much, I am a HUGE Ultravox fan!
@chrisnoaro1 Early Ultravox V. 2.0 was the best. Ure and the gang were so sophisticated looking -- they fit in with the New Romantics in a way, but were far above them. The music Ure was involved with in the early eighties was just brilliant. He does not get all the credit he deserves.
@goombabear Peri also belonged to a short lived trio in the mid eighties, that included the two girls from Kid Creole and the Coconuts -- the sang a cover of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walking". It was a really fun group, and the girls were all very sexy in what looked like PVC cat suits. Wish I could remember the name of the group.
@jonrottenjon No, atleast I am not aware at all if he did have anything to do with them. That was pretty much all of Gary Numan's gig. I know I have never heard of Midge having any affiliation with Tubeway.
I love Steve's style and clothing, looks so cool!

Amazing 🎶👌😃 , and immortal song 💞 💖 !

Brigitte Arens is the original french voice. She is from luxemburg. Great clip!!!! :-D
love it...xxx
The riff to this song was written principally by Billy Currie, who was in Ultravox as well as working with Visage and Tubeway Army.

Princess Julia was in the origunal video, although I'm not sure if she provided the vocals.
Perri is only miming it, the voice actually belongs to Midge Ure's Belgian g/f at the time.
@GoblinsFriend according the Wikipedia, the group was called Boomerang.
