I'm.getting one to get out on the river with. I had an inflatable seahawk. But without a motar it's impossible to get on the river with cause of the wind and current. Would a trolling motor be strong enough to hold against wind and current?
Yes the 30 would work for most ponds or lakes, if you are going to use it for a river if it has a stronger current it might struggle, I find the 55 struggling in the rough stuff too. Thanks for checking out the video!
Been there done that. You can control the boat much better with the trolling motor on the front. Always put your battery at the back no matter where you put the trolling motor.
just wondering if you might know the demission's of the plywood inside the transom as i wany to add a pair of Bro craft launch wheels to it or if you have any thoughts about it or videos thanks, tim
Tim, good question brother I don’t know how far it actually extends out past the transom mounting plate on both sides. But after trying to knock on the plastic to try to tell if it is solid underneath it seems like it goes at least 6 inches on both sides. I thought about the launch wheels too but never got around to purchasing them. Good luck man if you end up installing some, and let us know how it turned out! Keep it Blue Collar!
Maybe, keep in mind this is a small Jon boat so large wakes from larger boats will rock this boat pretty good. It could be possible on a larger body of water as long as you stay away from other boats. I’ve only have this boat out on a small river and some ponds, so I can’t really say how it would perform out on those types of water.
Are you using a 36" or 42" Shaft on the trolling motor? Just picked up one of these boats and need to order up a trolling motor. Looking at the Minn Kota Endura Max Transom-Mount Trolling Motor 36 or 42" shaft.
Tyler, I have the 36” shaft, it is the perfect height for the transom mounted position and for using in the front when I use the compact floor to stand on. When I use my full casting deck I would like to have the 42” version that way I wouldn’t have to bend down as much. Please watch all my sun Dolphin adventures videos to get a better reference if you need too. Thanks for checking out the video brother, I hope this helps.
JC, I run a 15lb anchor and it works fine for most situations, you may even be able to get by with a 10 or 12 lb. recently I pretty much stopped using the anchor all together. I use the trolling motor to keep myself in place.
@@bluecollaroutdoors5556 well I used a 10lb anchor and boat keep moving and spinning around it was fustrating I going to try 15lbs anchor that digs in dirt
JC, yea the one I use is similar to a mushroom style but it has cut outs that allow it to dig in some. It also depends on how much current you are in, if the water is crazy fast it may take an even heavier anchor. I hope you find something that works well for you!
@@bluecollaroutdoors5556 well maybe my rope wasn't long enough and it wasn't touching the ground but I'm going to go ahead and get me a 15 pound one that digs into the ground because there's also large boats that passed by and they rock my rock my little boat it's a big big lake and sometimes it gets windy you know no it's moving the boat a lot but I'll let you know how it goes I'm actually going to academy right now
just got one I been having a blast with it
Literally just got this motor a couple days ago, haven’t set up yet. This came out just in time. Awesome content, bro! Love the channel!
I’m glad you liked the video, and thanks for the support. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@bluecollaroutdoors5556 how long battery last. Or what type of battery you have. I just bought this boat for me and my son.

Great video, would the Minn Kota C2 30 lbs thrust work on this boat

Why should you always but the battery at the back?

Does yours have drain holes under seat from one compartment to next? My field and stream don't fixing to put some in
No, the only drain holes are at the rear of the boat. One for the inside of the hull and for the main part of the boat.
Can I use the sun dolphin on capano bay or Aransas pass on the Texas coast
