Dude this is amazing. I wish I could just sit in the room and have him tell stories for hours!
Boy, does this bring back memories. My first aquariums were Metaframes.
I’m only 21 years old but I’ve had a fishtank since I was born so all of this is just really cool to me. Someone who was never around or alive for any of this stuff just interesting to learn from all you legends
That was some of the coolest old Aquarium stuff that I have ever seen or will ever see. Great vid!
Hahah, this is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I would DIE for one of those giant terta fish food cans....
you would probably die for real from all the Clostridium botulinum :D
What's really sad about this is I remember a lot of this stuff ....the metal frame tanks, decorations, the different fish foods, at the local 5&10 stores while I was growing up! I believe we had one of those metal frame tanks too! Wow! Great collection! Thanks for showing us this! Wow!
This video, brought back ALOT OF memories....! I'm 69 yrs old, retired zoo keeper. As a kid in the 50s. I used ALOT OF THIS stuff....seeing this was like being a kid again....lol. THANKS......Ron Shook.
you got my like before i even watched it.. Keep it up man
Wow Lucas congratz on 4,000 subscribers! You deserve it!
I really geek out on the antique aquarium stuff. Way cool.
My fav part of the entire vid... Was how excited he got showing and talking about it!! I LOVE THE enthusiasm and LOVE he has!!
The MV + and MV- setting on that old PH meter was for conductivity. An early version of a TDS meter. Back in the old days you would see advice like " this fish prefers a PH of 7.4 with a conductivity of ..."
Very cool. Thanks for sharing that.
Ya, that’s cool as hell. I vaguely remember those tests.
Unbelievable cool collection! And cool video too!Never thought of someone collecting antique aquarium paraphernalia!Incredible!
My father used to work at J.B. Maris Co. in Bloomfield, NJ prior to WWII. I saw one of their pumps on your shelf. Mine still works. I have two valves too. At 20:00 you show the aerator connector. I had a filter that used that same connector. It had a HOB filter but the water exited on the bottom and the aerator connector would pump the water back up through the tubing into the tank on the other side from the HOB.
I love when people show their collections!! Can’t say I’m not GREEN with envy
My favorite kind of nerd. Aquarium geeks are the best.
Awesome! That owner seems like a cool dude for sure! Thanks for this! Making me think of when I was a kid and 1st thing I think of is those Scuba guy bubblers with the treasure chest! LOL So many he had
WoW, that was the coolest display of aquarium products from my child hood. ❤️
This is awesome! So much history in such a small spot. Simply mind blowing.
this either makes me very glad, or very sad, that I clean house in the fishroom every so often and toss or sell the old stuff I no longer use! But I'm definitely a fan of his approach to using pre owned equipment and building a fish room on the cheap!
That's a frickin cool tour. That guy has stories for days lol. Thanks for the vid Lucas! Hope you guys all keep the videos coming for us!
Aw man! What an amazing opportunity to meet Eric and all his best collection! The creature from the Black Lagoon was my favorite too! Wow! Thanks for sharing this with us!
I'm dying... those antique aquariums are absolutely stunning! 😍💕💖 and everything else too, just amazing!!! Thank you for sharing 👍👍
I seen a lot of your videos, but this one is one of my favorites.
Thanks!
Absolutely amazing thank you for sharing, loved it, brought back some memories.
Dope! And my two favourite FishTubers. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, it's really cool to hear stories from an old timer and see all the stuff. Can't believe you all rolled through my hometown (Columbus, OH) while I'm here in China. Someday I will meet y'all in person.
My first Aquarium was a 30 gal from Sears in 1967. Water was collected from glacier melt and the chemistry of the tank all had to be added. The aquarium was my 'color tv'.
That is awesome!
Incredible collection ! I saw so many things I had as a kid growing up and save my allowance to by things for my fish room.
Great video.. Thanks guys.. Love the old metal frame tanks... Lots love... Joe
Usually, I won't tolerate cameras swerving back & forth/around & around, but I endured a massive dizzy spell just for the sheer thrill of every nook and cranny of this amazing museum.
Love this video! Very unique side of the hobby. Great video!
wow the burn mark on underside .... just mind blowing . wow!
Very cool, I could spend days looking at all that stuff!
This was fascinating could sit there looking for hours
Extraordinary ....i love this "aquariums" Museum ....This man is awesome ....thanks
Great video. Thanks! I remember some of that stuff from 50 years ago...
Awesome video, pretty neat seeing all that aquarium stuff.
Nice to see both old Marco and old Hy Flo pumps there.
This is such a great video, I cant believe I never seen it.
Wow! This totally took me back, as a 10 year old kid in early 70's New Jersey we would often go to garage sales and I would buy (or get my folks to buy) old aquarium goods which I would set up and use in my bedroom, I had several ornate framed tanks similar to those in the video, old (mostly german made) pumps and really tacky ornaments. For my folks it was a way to get really economical supplies for what they thought would be a short-lived hobby (hah!) but it sure did have a style that I had forgotten until now. What happened to all of it? When my Army family got orders to Germany we sold it all at a garage sale.
this is so cool, awesome collection. just like a museum.
I'm from Gibraltar and could relate to many of this stuff. He should open up a museum. Really enjoyed the vid - thanx.
i pressed the like button lucas, but it should be a 'love' button. i was glued to this video; i could imagine how you felt being there!
Love the history! I still have my Creature of the Black Lagoon in a box somewhere! He is my all time favorite, too!!
that was THE COOLEST vid i have seen i didn't want it to end thanks so much for bringing that to myself and others im speechless and i want more lol
That was awesome so cool to see the old aquarium stuff I was totally fish Nurding out on it
That was fantastic! Fun seeing some of the stuff I used as a kid. I miss my metal tanks. :)
i love the wind powered air pump :)
Enjoyed immensely. Thanks.
This is freaking awesome to say the least ! ! !
Classic Tour !
That was an awesome video!
Awesome.. thanks for sharing..Noone mentioned the lady mannequin..
For me this was a trip through memory lane. I recognized 90% of that stuff. How wonderful that you have collected it- the art deco and victorian era equipment is so gorgeous! My first 'big' tank (early '70's) was an aluminum framed 20G with a slate bottom and a curved/arch aluminum light hood that held 2 incandescent bulbs. You have one there!
Eric Bodrocks collection was amazing! As I said in the beginning hard to put words into how cool it is!
cool stuff, I had a couple of those tanks back in the day, with metal frame, and slate bottoms, Heavy Chevy
Everybody wanted a Silent Giant air pump in the late sixties early seventies
Love the promotion of Hydro Sponge when Eric Bodrock still had hair ;)
Lol right blast from the past!
O M G what a video to enjoy of back in the day of fish keeping & the stuff he has I would be like WOW.
Mind Got Blowed. I like a good mind blow. Thank you and keep on tankin
man i thought the wood grain hexagon tank was old school...Thanks for sharing Lucas!
that window fan air pump has got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen for a fishtank. Humm wonder if I could make one
Awesome time and a source of knowledge. :)
My parents started keeping fish in the 60's. I have seen a lot of what you have, but I had no idea anyone collected it.
You also had some very interesting info on the Gillman. He was probably black originally because it worked better on B&W TV. You have an amazing collection man!
Unreal!! My dream is to just have 1 antique slate.
Awesome sauce! 👍🏻
amazing am so stoked to see and freeze frame to study it
I'm blown away!
Wow! That was EPIC.
Wow what a collection.i love the old tanks.is that the rainbow man
Wow, how cool was that. I really wish I was with you guys.
One of the best videos ever!
I used to have that one of them vintage Supreme Aqua Master power filters I had the black model of course. when I was growing up really miss that power filter. my dad found it at a old bait store back in the 90s.
Great Video! He could charge admission to see that place!
could spend a week in there just looking. some of those old tanks looked amazing.
This was so fun watching. Considering most of what I saw I had ether used or seen as a child in pet shops. Lol. Growing up and living at the Gulf of Mexico it seemed as if there was an exotic fish store ! Everywhere. Lol. And at one point during summer break I actually worked at one. Man that didn't help my desire to keep fish. Anyway. Me getting back into the hobby now in my older age it was super nice to see all the items from the past. Thanks for such an awesome video.
Mark

Simply Amazing
Wow such a great video man so so cool
Thank you so much for that video
That was awesome!!!
I remember when fluorescent lighting conversion kits came out. We used Growlux tubes in them.
That's pretty cooooooooooooooooooool
Lucas did Eric happen to mention what was the oldest tank he had in that collection ?
Very cool video, thanks for sharing that too.
Nice, what a great collection of stuff! In the early 70s I was at Sears, Roebuck and Co., and they were closing their pet department and selling off the fixtures. My mom bought me a couple steel framed slate bottomed tanks that were part of their fish display, $2 each. They were probably about 15 gallons, sort of square and low. I ended up selling them for $4 each, which I thought was great business acumen on my part.
Thanks for sharing your story, thats a awesome deal!
Something I wondered, maybe you know... All those tanks had a piece of metal sticking out from the side of the inside bottom, a little tab of stainless steel about a fourth of an inch by an inch long, and I couldn't figure out why. It's not on any other steel framed tanks, just the ones used commercially. What gives?
I remember Longlife fish food. It's what they sold you to feed your goldfish that you kept in a bowl. Someone made some kind of a goldfish food that look like sheets of Styrofoam. It was probably made of rice cakes. This was in the early 1960s.
I had stuff like that, I still have some charcoal for filters
I'd pay 600 for 75 tanks easy lol great video I enjoyed it! Lots of great antiques and paraphernalia👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Does anyone else remember that HOB green plastic filter "Slim Jim" with Magic Magnetic Drive? I loved that filter.
Patches can be made with computer assisted embroidery machines - great idea! As for aquarium cards - I'll trade you a rare early beardless Lucas for that ultra rare Steenfott without a hat. Lol. Aquarium cards could have people, fish, or "junk".
OK this was wicked... + funk music
I remember the metal framed tanks from when I was a kid. They had slate bottoms.
Man I Found Out About You Through Corys Channel But This Video Was Damn Cool I Have Some Older Aquarium Stuff Myself But No Where Near This Amazing Collection. But Funny I Refurbished A Metaframe Filter Box Into A Todays Filter Box And Fixing To Start Using It.Great Video And Keep Them Coming
At 9:48 I have that vintage tank set up that actually came with the electric aerator. I believe it's mid century. I also have an older just tank with a slate bottom. Two of my very favorite objects I own! In the hooded one I housed a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach named George Harrison for a while.
George Harrison is my favorite Beatle
Cool place. I love the silver edged tanks.😊👍
On the otherside... this is the saddest video about LFS stores selling out.
I hope anyone thinking about starting a shop isn't discouraged.
We need more LFS!!
Does this guy buy up stores just for resale or personal use or does he have a store?
Great video, guys.
I think he just sees opportunities when they happen. He doesnt have a store as a living but does have a huge fish room he sells from and he also travels the world giving talks.
This was so sick dude. .....I would like to see the other guys collection he was talking about.
Maybe one day I will get that opportunity. The guy he was talking about is the owner of Zoo Med.
Let me know who to contact... I've been looking for the old Penn Plax sidewheeler steam ship. Had one in my aquarium as a kid, and have never seen another one.
That was so fricken cool
Wow great video
Wow, so cool
