@2ydna2 Look at the Doymerang remix of Technology, Lemon D - Feel It, and an oldschool bukem tape. It's hard to believe where things have gone since around '97. '95 especially. What the hell?
we once booked some dnb djs in a downstairs lounge.b4 his set, there was a great acoustic performance going on with about 50 spectators(not ravers) n the trio recieved a decent response.once offstatge, the djs set up & in 20 minutes the place filled up with 150 ravers.of course the acoustic group were REAL musicians playing, what I consider, real music. Now I would LOVE to book the trio for the sake of the love of actual talent but it wouldnt make money and I happen to love money more than music.
Whoops, nevermind, realized right afterwards that it was the El-B remix of Zed Bias' Neighbourhood I was thinking of >_< original mix had the same sample too
I feel like there was another dnb tune with the same sample or very similar except it was a longer loop and had vocals... if anyone knows what I'm talking about that'd be awesome.
Yeah it isnt a live break as such, like DubBot says it is the Funky Mule from an Ike and Tina Turner song, this break has been used in jungle/drum and bass since the old days, at least as far back as 1993. The way D and Lemon have used the break in this, is quite original though, i really like it.
gotta love Dillinja & Lemon D! anybody know if they did a tune where part of it goes "babada doo doo ooo bop bop bop bop......it's my life....life life life life life" i'd swear it was done by them but i can't remember the title to save my life!!!
you dont like mala or coki style? i mean i was a born in 90, and grew up loving dnb without knowing what it was at the time (some good examples is the original 'ape escape' soundtrack or the character brians theme song in 'tekken 3'.) but when i started breaking into electronic sounds and smoking budz, i found a lot of early dubstep fantastic!
as a promoter and event coordinator, we, the ones that actually put in the work of putting these parties/raves together, could give a flying fuck if the "wobbling" goes on all night. As long as 500+ kids are willing to pay $20 to get in,yes, youre' right,it IS all about getting kids into the party. We leave all that other nonsense for the DJ's to deal with. I agree with what you said but when I read about "getting kids in..",from a business standpoint, its the cold truth.
@Nonchalant82 the tune that goes "babada doo doo ooo bop bop bop bop" is 'Dillinja - Promise'
Woo hoo! Lovin the piano and the awesome breaks! One of my fave Dillinja & Lemon D tunes ;-)
The feeling this gives me man
actual thought was put into this. music too. two of the dnb greats.

That and 'Still Life' by Goldie.

Nah man, you mean beep boop beep boop bop.
Off the chain. Can you use some vocal hooks here and there

No Clown Step, Crap Step or whatever they that call it nowadays. No Gimmicks on my channel mate. Only the real deal.
