Thanks for sharing your techniques as I also prefer the blend then spritz method as less messy. Nice cards love the bright colours with vintage images. The potting soil colour brings it all together very well. Great job.
Thank you! I just bought water color postcards to cut down for a card and some Tim Holtz paper dolls and then came across this as a beginner. Just perfect! This is the look I wanted to go for but wasn't sure where to start.
I love these cards!! I love them so much that I ordered some of the distress oxide colors and the Tim Holtz paper people! They arrived today and I am so excited to play with them. I just had to thank you first. Your video was great inspiration! Hugs, cat
Those cards are beautiful - well done, Mike! I haven't found that many people using them on greeting cards, mostly journal pages, so this was a real treat! Thanks for your inspiration!
OH How COOL - - using the ruler for your stamp!! Brilliant...you are. : ] BTW, I Love these cards. Simple is GOOD! And they're beautiful! Thanks, Mike. Hugs, cat
Gorgeous. Love the vintage stuff. I've tried to do atc s with colourful images but they are just not me. Like colour in the background but the focal image I like to be sepia, black and white just vintage. Bit like myself lol . Have a great week mike , Ian and mr B 's
lovely cards mike, Right up my alley love that distressed look, I am going to Michaels to get those paper dolls they have not had them in the past but maybe they might now wish me luck. cheerio.
I wasn't fond of the paper dolls when I first saw them but now that I have seen your cards I have to get some and try making some grunge cards. Thanks bunches. ;)
I found them at joanns and they were 30% off and I made the cards I did not use the oxides though just the distress inks and i think they look just as good as yours did . Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi mike I also love that glue I got a big litre bottle for £20 on eBay to keep replenishing my little bottle. These cards are fab. Would make great ATCS
Love these cards, so simple but effective. I have quite a few b&w photos which I could use for this. I have a dcw paper pad which would work for the ephemera backgrounds. Thanks, as ever, for the great inspiration.
SO liked your cards, Mike)))) And also liked your paper trimmer, will you please tell me where you got it? It's very handy to use a blade and a score cassetes at the same time)))
Ah so this is what the paper dolls are. I have to admit it isn't what I was expecting from my 1970's childhood. I love these. I was disappointed with the D.Os as I've only used them with the "wrinkle free" method and thought they were meh. I shall definitely be trying the blend and spritz.
I really love these. R the Tim Holtz paper dolls new? Mike u really need to buy stock in baby wipes-ha! U r the neatest artist I know. My desk looks like a craft store after an Earthquake.
The dolls are new to the line this year and have been around for few months but are constantly sold out almost everywhere! They are a nice thing to have in your stash.
These are absolutely charming! Only problem for me is that I already have some cards made somewhere and I seem to have put them in a "safe place" in my studio! Know what I mean? LOL (The bright side of aging)
Lovely cards, I have these paper dolls, and love the little dancing girl 👧 she makes a sweet card. 🇦🇺👍🏻😉

Please tell me what stamp you used at the end for the blotches? Beautiful work.

Hahahaha!!! I am ALWAYS doing that! xxoo
Me tooo! Lol
Hi! Just one quick question--on the inside part/inside the fold, do you glue down or stamp a greeting? Esp. on a dark background. Thank you!!
Love those thank you ! Been trying to get those paper dolls but all sold out !!!! Can I ask the glue brand you use please ?
Christine Gunning Amazon US has the paper dolls, in stock 7/22.
I looked at Amazon UK and thought goody they are on prime then I realised it was 1 - 2 months for dispatch!
I am knew to using inks like this. What is the difference between the distress inks and the distress oxides?
What is the name of the glue you used? Amazing!!
Collall Multipurpose Glue. The TomBow Mono Aqua glue is the same.
Great ideas! What kind of hairdryer did you use?
It was a Ranger heat tool.
@@MikeDeakinArt can you use hairdryer too?
Is it possible to do this with the normal distress ink pads? Or does it have to be Oxide?
You’d get a different look as the ink won’t oxidise, but you can activate ordinary distress inks in the same way.
how do you attach round sponges to bottom of stamp pad?
Sandra Burfoot I use sticky Velcro pads XO
